In this video I show how I made a skin safe silicone mold of my hand and then used it to cast a realistic silicone copy.

Impressive but holy crap that's pricey. I need enough to create the skin for an entire android. So you have a recommendation for a good alternative?

Dental "Algenate" is the traditional material. It costs a lot less, but does not last for more than one casting, and you need to pour liquid plaster into the lifecast - instead of like in this video he pours the silicone directly into the mold. The extra step here is you will need to make a plaster copy of the body part first, and then make a mold off of that to cast your silicone in. Up to you to decide which approach is more cost effective.
