And here she goes, SENDING ME TO YOU!!! I'm inspired and don't feel so alone in learning/beginning to use power tools!!! LOVED your video, GORGEOUS WORK! And you are thorough and easy to understand, ESPECIALLY for this beginner!! Thanks to both of you, for the QUALITY CONTENT! STANDING OVATION!!! One Love from Jacksonville FL.

The hutch in the thumbnail I'd leave alone because that is called patina. What you actually worked on was a good choice for a redo/refresh. The afvice about a heavy coat is spot on as well. Thin coats are much better than paint applied like mortar. Thank you again. The arches looked better than the straight lines. It was a reasoned style choice that lifted the room. Mid century modern was about sbout straight lines but that era also accomodated Early American style, as well as Hollywood Regency.

Tina can I offer you some advice? I have in the past prepared for a project I considered large such as yours. I would gather materials and get so nervous I was going to leave a mess and not get the project done I'd put everything away and not do anything. May I suggest planning on doing sections, small sections like two cabinet doors the first time. After completing a couple doors and seeing what you needed to do to complete them, you will probably gain confidence in doing larger sections at a time. I hope it works out for you. Nothing as rewarding as a job you've done yourself. Leah instills confidence and I know " you can do it". 👍

DO IT. :) I put off doing my kitchen cabinets for sooo long and after it was done I was just so much happier that I was then very angry I'd put it off for so long. I could have been living with nice cabinets for years, but NO, I put it off. It seemed like a much larger project in my head than it really was. I got all the cabinet doors off (and labeled, do not forget that!) in no time. Put them all in garage and sanded down the first day. Painting took longer to do properly, but I was able to do one coat per day without much fuss. By the next weekend I had my 'new' cabinets back up. It was totally a project I could have done in 2-3 days if I had tried. You will love it so much once it's done. Just make absolutely sure you PREP WELL. And if you're putting on primer and anything is bleeding through, a bit of poly dabbed over seals it all in so you can continue. Good luck Ms. Tina!
@smiles36njcp
@smiles36njcp Год назад
@@heather2418 What did you put the cabinet doors on when painting them and drying them? Just flat on a table?
@heather2418
@heather2418 Год назад
@@smiles36njcp Ha, a bit of everything, we had a lot of projects going on once I started. Some were just on 2x4 scrap wood, some were on top of various paint buckets, and I think one or two I grabbed some flat landscape rocks. 🤣 But if you prefer the easy way you can grab a pack of 4 shot glasses, plastic, at the dollar store, for each door you're doing. I don't think I'd put cabinet doors flat on the table. If you're painting with a roller or by hand you'll need to watch carefully for drips around edges anyway.

I love the transformation. I much prefer straight lines to arches, which can sometimes look dated. I wonder if you have any tips on how to thoroughly clean a paint sprayer.
