I started doing Uber Eats on Tuesday March 10 2020, and I have pretty much been delivering every day since then. As I've been driving, I've been learning better and faster ways to make money. I now average $30/hour and typically make a goal of $200/day; $300 if I feel like working longer. In this week's video I tell you guys some of the things I've learned and some of the tactics I use in order to maximize my earnings on Uber Eats.

Hi, Thanks for sharing. I like all your tips and I will be implement them. lol How did you get around the parking issue in DT Toronto? I'm in Houston, Texas we have that same issue.
@OliviaHenry
@OliviaHenry 2 года назад
You're welcome, I'm glad you enjoyed the video! 😁 I try my best to park in a space where you wouldn't immediately know I wasn't supposed to park there. For example, in Toronto we have Green P spaces which are paid parking lots and paid shoulder parking. The thing is though, you _can_ pay at the machine and put a printed ticket on your car dashboard, or you can pay through an app and give them your license plate. Basically, just because someone doesn't have a slip in their window, doesn't necessarily mean the person hasn't paid for parking. So if parking enforcement pulls up to your car, they have to check the online system to confirm whether or not you've paid. By the time they've done all that, you're gonna be back to your car with the food because majority of restaurants have the food ready right as you enter. I don't know if Houston has anything like that, but if you can find places you can _technically_ park legally, park there. If I can't find a Green P space, I park on the side of the road right outside the restaurant. Most storefronts are all windows, meaning I can stand inside the restaurant and see my car while I'm waiting. If I were to see parking enforcement, I would get back out to my car before they were able to write me a ticket. Finally, I made a makeshift sign saying, "Uber Eats, Out For Delivery." It isn't a sure fire 'get out of a ticket free' card, but I feel as though it'll let someone know you're only parked there temporarily and they may be more lenient.

You are awesome ! I love the honesty "... all I'm gona do is watch TV. That's not productive! Put in the hours!" I want to start driving for Uber Eats in Waterloo as of next week when I move there. I also plan on bringing my dog with me while I drive. I have a divider in the car so it's not like my dog will be in contact with the food at all. Do you think having my dog with me would be off putting to customers, or most likely they will never notice/care? Thanks and keep up the awesome work !!
@OliviaHenry
@OliviaHenry 2 года назад
Sorry for such a late reply; you've probably been delivering for a while now. 🙃 But as for bringing your dog, most people won't notice because most customers ask for contactless delivery (leave their food at the door, then ring the doorbell and walk away). On rare occasions I get "wait in car" orders, which is when the person meets me at my car and I hand them the food through the window. That would likely be the only time a customer would notice you have a dog, and I can't personally say whether or not they'd feel negatively about it. But all in all, I think you'll be fine. And I'm glad you enjoyed the video! I hope Uber Eats has been going well for you the past few months. 🙂

Thank you for your video. I have a small question and sorry if it seems to be personal, but when you pick up the order or drop off in Toronto Downtown, do usually pay for parking?
@OliviaHenry
@OliviaHenry 3 года назад
You're welcome, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. 😊 I have never paid for parking while delivering. I typically just park on the side of the road in front of the restaurant. Since most storefronts are all windows, while I’m in the restaurant I’m able to see my car while I wait. If I saw someone approaching my car to give me a ticket, I assume I’d be able to go outside before they wrote the ticket and move my car. I’ve never actually run into that situation before, but I think that if you get back to your car before the person writes the ticket, they’ll refrain from writing it. 🤷🏾‍♀️ Also, I made a sign that says, “Uber Eats, Out For Delivery” and put it on my dashboard. I don’t think that’s a foolproof plan, but at least anyone who sees it may be more lenient because they’ll know I’m only parked there temporarily. I personally haven’t gotten a ticket yet, but I admit you are risking getting tickets when delivering downtown; which is exactly why so many people downtown order their food because they don’t want to risk getting a ticket on their own car by going out to buy it. Basically, the more inconvenient it is for people to get their food in person, the more orders there will be in that area. But just a heads up if you’re going to be delivering in downtown Toronto, don’t park on the side of the street at Yonge and Gerrard; parking enforcement is always there.
@nessaig.3721
@nessaig.3721 3 года назад
Good Question. I have done delivery near Roncensville and the officer was just placing a ticket on my car. I explained I was just picking up a Uber eats order. He felt bad and apologized but he said he had to because there was no parking allowed. So Basically what I made I just paid back to the fine City of Toronto. Also are you also saying that you do not pay for parking when you get to these Condo's. How do you get away with that? Please tell us. Great video by the way. Awaiting your reply. Thank you very much. 😊🙏🏿

Congrats on $30 an hour. Taking every order doesn't work for me. I'm in Atlanta and the area is spread out. I try to just take orders that pay at least $20 per hour. I get request for $5, 20 minutes. That's $15 per hour. If you have to wait or go to an apartment building, that takes more time and you're making less money.

I learned really quick not to accept every order in order to increase my earnings, to stay in the zone i want to be in and to avoid putting too many unnecessary miles on my car. It works for me here in Seattle. Before cherry picking i was driving more miles and working close to 40hr to make $1000 per week. Now i can exceed $1000 in less than 40 hours and driving significantly less miles.

Good information; thanks for sharing it! (Aside, you're in Toronto; I presume you're talking Canadian dollars. At today's rate, 8/30/2021, exchange is 1.26CD = 1USD so $30.CD is $23.70 USD; your 9 points are still good and valuable.) ~ Steve, Utah USA

They want to give the restaurant time to make the food so by the time you get there it’s ready to go and the driver doesn’t have to wait even though they’re still technically waiting while driving
@OliviaHenry
@OliviaHenry 2 года назад
Exactly 🙂. Which is why people who wait in front of a restaurant don't tend to get an order for that restaurant. If the food is going to be ready in 4 minutes, Uber is likely the give the order to someone who is a 5 minute drive away. That way the food will be packed and ready to go by the time the driver gets there, rather than having someone wait for 4 minutes and complain that "the food wasn't ready." And that's what some new drivers don't understand.

I’m new to Uber Eats and find your videos helpful. Quick question… if you go to Downtown or some other location that has paid parking, where do you park so you don’t have to pay for parking? Thank you
@OliviaHenry
@OliviaHenry 2 года назад
I'm glad my videos have been helpful! 😁 When I'm delivering in downtown Toronto I tend to park in a GreenP space. Yes, GreenP spaces are paid parking, but I don't pay. You're going to be parked there for such a short period of time that the odds of being caught by parking enforcement are low. Basically, when it comes to paid parking, you can either pay at a pay station and place a physical receipt on your dashboard, or you can pay online and your license plate will be registered in the paid parking system. So basically, just because you don't have a receipt on your car dashboard doesn't mean you haven't paid. So if parking enforcement were to approach your car, they'd have to run the license plate before determining whether or not you've paid, and by the time they do that you'll already be back in your car ready to drive off. Basically, if you park in a place where you're legally allowed to park, parking enforcement is going to be running the plates of everyone parked there, not just yours, so once again; by the time they get to you, you'll already be gone. If you park in a no parking zone, meaning parking enforcement would immediately know you're breaking the law, I recommend parking right in front of the restaurant. Most restaurants have glass storefronts, meaning you can stand inside the store waiting for the food and still be able to see your car. So if you look out the window and see parking enforcement approaching your car, you'll be able to get outside and move your car before they write the ticket. I've also made myself a DIY sign saying, "Uber Eats, Out For Delivery," and put it on my car dashboard. That way if someone approaches my car, they'll know I'm only parked there temporarily and may be more lenient. This is not a surefire way to ensure you don't get a ticket, but I think it helps. Long story short, you just have to be smart about where you park. Either park in plain sight along other cars so you don't stand out as the illegal parker, or park directly in front of the restaurant so you can see your car at all times. PS. When it comes to parking in front of condos (in a fire route), I always talk to the person at the front desk and let them know I'm doing a delivery. That way when they look in the cameras and see a car parked outside, they won't call a tow truck because they'll assume it's me and they know I'm parked there temporarily.

Great video! I was interested in the part (tip #4) where you talked about making around $30 an hour because of 3-4 trips in that hour. I was wondering what is your overhead for doing these deliveries? I previously worked for a medical delivery company and would do 30 stops in 8hrs and those vehicles had a HUGE amount of maintenance for gas, tires, engine, very frequent oil changes, and would only last a couple 100thousand miles if lucky. I am wondering how this would compare to your experience? (especially since you observed you have to be moving to get pings) Things I would be curious about: 1. car type 2. how often you need to do tire, oil changes, or routine maintenance 3. how often you have to do major maintenance because of wear and tear 4. How much travel is outside of money making; I think this would be interesting to do a cost benefit analysis (I am a financial business analyst) on to see in the grand scheme what the actual opportunity cost would be as an uber / uber eats driver. Thanks!
@OliviaHenry
@OliviaHenry 3 года назад
I'm glad you enjoyed the video. 🙂 1. Toyota Prius 2. I'm on my first set of summer and winter tires and haven't had to change them yet. I do an oil change every 3 months for about $60. To fill up my car with gas it's $30 - $40, so let's say $35 on average. On weeks where I drive a lot I fill up twice, so that's $70/week. On weeks where I do less hours, I fill up once. So I spend between $140 and $280 on gas per month. 3. Haven't had to do any major maintenance yet. 4. I travel downtown to do deliveries, and I live about 40km (25 miles) away, so that's 80km/50 miles (there and back) that I drive without making money. As for how many kilometres I drive between trips, I couldn't say because I've never calculated it, but it definitely depends on the day. On very busy days (Friday, Saturday, Sunday), I typically get a ping for the next trip before I'm even done the one I'm on, so I drive straight from one person's house to the next restaurant, so there aren't any wasted kilometres. On slower days, I don't have a specific number of calculated kilometres, but I'm not going to drive around mindlessly for half an hour, right, so if I'm driving a lot and not getting anything, then I'll pull over for a little bit in an area I know is typically busy, and if I get absolutely nothing I may just logoff and go home.

How Olivia, do you pay parking fares when you have a delivery at a condo? Also do you drop the order at the individual’s door or do you just leave the food at the receptionist desk?
@OliviaHenry
@OliviaHenry 3 года назад
I’ve never paid for parking when delivering. Some condos have visitor’s parking, so I’ll park there. For other’s I’ll find a Green P parking space on the side of the street, but I don’t pay. And other times, if there’s a cul de sac, I’ll park right in front of the building. Yes, it’s a fire route so you’re technically not supposed to park there, but you’ll be in and out in 5 minutes or less, so I think getting a ticket or getting your car towed is unlikely. When delivering downtown, there is definitely the risk of tickets, but I’ve done over 1400 deliveries and haven’t gotten one. As for where to leave the order, the customer will tell you in the notes. If they say, “meet in lobby,” they’ll meet you in the lobby. If they say, “meet at door” or “leave at door” they mean their door on their floor. If they say, “leave it with the concierge,” leave it with the concierge. The customer will tell you what they want, and if there’s information missing, like they don’t give you a buzz code, you can message them in the app.

Thank you 🙂 I recommend Uber Eats for anyone who wants a flexible work schedule. For me, I’m a student; so having a manager decide when I work doesn’t suit me, but with Uber I choose when I want to work and for how long. Also, I still live at home with my parents so I don’t have very many expenses. I don’t know how profitable Uber Eats is if you’re the head of household paying mortgage/rent, utilities, buying groceries, etc. But I do think food delivery is good for some extra side income. 🙂
@kj4547

What about gas? How often do you need to pump? Love your videos very informative!
@OliviaHenry
@OliviaHenry 3 года назад
That depends on how much you drive. If I go out from 11AM - 9PM every day for a week, I’ll probably have to fill up twice that week, which for my car is $60 - $80 for 2 fill ups. If I only drive during the evening, 5PM - 9PM, then I’ll only have to fill up once, which is $30 - $40. On weeks where I go out for a full day, I’ll make upwards of $1000, so my profit for that week after subtracting gas is $920 - $940. On weeks where I only go out in the evening, I’ll make around $700, so my profit after subtracting gas is $660 - $670. If you have a fuel efficient car (I have a Prius), your gas consumption doesn’t dip into your earnings a lot. For this particular week when I made $1314.82, I spent $60 in gas. So my profit was $1254.82. And I’m glad you enjoyed the video. 🙂

Hi Brenda, sorry for such a late reply. I don't know much about the layout of Ottawa, but in Toronto I typically just park on the side of the road in front of the restaurant. I personally haven’t gotten a ticket yet, but I admit you are risking getting tickets when delivering in places with limited or no parking; which is exactly why so many people in those areas order their food, because they don’t want to risk getting a ticket on their own car by going out to buy it. Basically, the more inconvenient it is for people to get their food in person, the more orders there will be in that area.

Hey Olivia, I did Uber eats today for the very first time here in Toronto. I just wanted to say thank you, thank you, thank you. Your tips came in so handy. But I have a question regarding something I noticed today. I noticed that today I would put myself in a red zone which was $2.50 extra at the time. Then all of a sudden the red zone would go away and I was like wth, just my luck right. But then just out of curiosity I logged out of the app and logged back and sure enough the red zone that I was in popped up again. So like usual shortly after I got a delivery and I got the $2.50, all fine and dandy. So once I was done with that delivery I then tell the app I'm ready for my next delivery and same thing happened again. So what did I do? I once again logged out and logged back in and sure enough the red zone came back again. I'm like wierd, is this just a coincidence I ask myself? Well guess what? I ended up doing that 6 more times throughout my shift and it worked Everytime. So I'm curious Olivia, has this happened to you? Have you ever tried this? Or anyone else reading this have any of you experienced this? Hopefully I explained myself properly, if not please ask me to re-explain. Your input would be greatly appreciated Olivia, oh and btw I did use your ref link, I hope I did it properly.

You're welcome, I'm glad my tips helped! 😁 As for the surges disappearing, that happens all the time. I think it's just to save data; the less images your phone has to render, the less data you use. Even though the surge "disappears," it is still very much there. You don't have to logout and log back in to get the extra $2.50. If it disappears but you want to see it, just press your home button and open the app again; that works about 90% of the time. But once again, even if the surge disappears and you get an order right after, the surge will still be applied to that order; it's not gone from the area, your phone just isn't rendering it. I hope I explained that properly. As for the referral, I currently have 2 referrals that signed up a couple of weeks ago, but I don't know if one of them is you. Do you mind sharing your first name with me so I can check?

@@OliviaHenry thx for getting back and explaining the surge thing to me. I would rather not give my name in public here for all to see, I hope you understand.

It is different in every city. Today (June 15) Uber updated the app in Toronto, so we are now able to see the amount we will earn beforehand. We can also see the pickup and drop off location, the name of the restaurant, and the total estimated trip time all before accepting. Before, you could only see a point on the map showing the restaurant's location, but you weren't told the name of the restaurant, how far the person's house was, or how much you would earn. The app is a lot better now since today's update; you get a lot of information beforehand. The thing is though, even if a trip doesn't look like it's worth it, it may still be. I still accept all trips because you never know how much someone could tip you. So now with the amount of information you're given, you can make a more educated guesses on whether or not you want to accept an order, but I still accept them all anyways. Also, I understand if you don't want to share your name. I'm sure you did the signup process properly, so no worries. 🙂

Whens the best time to do delivery? Like as in when does the surge or boost usually appear ?
@OliviaHenry
@OliviaHenry 3 года назад
It's different for every area, and it differs day to day. When you open the Uber Driver app, if you click the 3 lines in the top left corner then click Promotions, you'll be able to see all the Boosts happening in the areas around you and at what hours of the day they're happening. As for Surges, there are no set times. If an area becomes busy, Uber will put a Surge in that area to encourage drivers to go there, and thus fulfill the plethora of orders coming in in that area. A Surge can last for as little as 10 minutes and as long as a few hours. Boosts are pre-decided days ahead of time, Surges are purely dependent on whether or not a lot of people are ordering in a certain area. If you're in downtown Toronto, there is almost always a Surge. If you're in the suburbs, the Surges are a lot less frequent. Another feature you can use within the Uber Driver app is, if you click the 3 lines in the bottom right corner, a bar graph will show up showing you hour by hour how busy your area is projected to be. The graph is based on past data, so there is no guarantee it'll be busy when it says so on the graph, but it's typically quite accurate. Also, above the graph you can click "See all areas" to see an hour by hour graph of the areas near you; so if another area is projected to be busy, you can drive there. I would say the best time to deliver, regardless of Surges and Boosts, is at lunch and dinner times; 11AM - 2PM and 5PM - 8PM. That's when I get the most orders, but again; it depends on where you are delivering. I can only speak for Toronto; Downtown, Midtown, North York, Etobicoke, East York, Scarborough, Durham, Vaughn, etc. If you're not in or around the Toronto area, you just have to figure it out as you go, and you'll eventually learn the best times that work for you in your area.

When picking up food, I just park in front of the store on the side of the street. Typically store fronts are all windows, so I’ll be able to see if anyone is coming up to my car to give me a ticket (that hasn’t happened yet, though). When dropping off the food for someone, let’s say in an apartment, I typically park in the little round about, even though it says no parking. When I walk into an apartment building, I always talk to the concierge and let them know I have an Uber delivery for x apartment. That way, when they see a car parked out front, they know it’s me. When there isn’t a round about or a concierge, I typically just park in front of the building and crops my fingers that I don’t get a ticket. When dropping off the food at someone’s house, I just park on the street in front of the house because I can see my car the entire time. Also, I’ve made a sign that I put on my dashboard that says “Uber Eats, Out For Delivery.” I don’t know if that has helped me to avoid tickets, but I feel as though if a ticketer were to approach my car and see the sign in the windshield, they may be more lenient.

Honestly, the trick is parking wherever you can and move as fast as possible. I've made a piece of paper I can leave on the dash in big letters ON DELIVERY. Also heres another tip from my brother in law who is a parking enforcement officer, this is a really good tip. Never use your 4 way flashers, most people do when parking on the street for short periods of time. He tells me as a parking enforcement officer that when he sees a cars flashers off in the distance he immediately knows the car is not supposed to be there and goes over to give it a ticket right away, he can see it from far away.. Try to blend in, this means no flashers

Your cash flow sounds like what a is mentioned by a couple others I know that drive for Uber. You are putting in the time and not turning down hits so the system recognizes that you are dependable and willing to work so you get continuous calls. Are you using your Prius Hybrid for you deliveries now? If so, what are your results as far as fuel costs?
@OliviaHenry
@OliviaHenry 4 года назад
I know that in the past drivers used to be able to see their acceptance rate percentage, and Uber has since taken that away. Despite that, I still figured acceptance rate factored in; if you’re not accepting orders, Uber won’t send you orders. From watching other people’s videos, I’ve heard that people are “boycotting” the low value orders so that Uber will raise the price of those types of orders in the future, but just because you don’t accept an order, doesn’t mean the next person won’t. There’s always going to be _someone_ to do each and every order; there’s just too many drivers for everyone to decline an order. So I figure, if someone is going to make money on this order, why not me? I do use my Prius for my deliveries. I fill up twice a week, and each fill up is $20 - $25. So I spend $40 - $50 a week on gas, so my fuel costs barely dip into my earnings. 🙂
@Mick.Porter
@Mick.Porter 4 года назад
Gas prices are very low right now, at least here in Michigan, so the spending may not reflect your true savings. I am interested in the liters you consume compared to your old car, if you had that job then. I used to be a repair technician for cars and trucks and found it fascinating when I was on test drives, how often they went to electric when the batteries were up but never had an chance to question someone that used one in your position.
@OliviaHenry
@OliviaHenry 4 года назад
I never did Uber with my old car, but the fuel tank capacity was 50 litres, and I would get 500km off a full tank. My new cars fuel tank capacity is 45 litres, and I get 550 - 600km off a full tank. So for my old car I got 10km/litre, and with my current car I get 12.2km/litre - 13.3km/litre.

When you say accept every order do u accept the low pay orders that take u away from the hot spots or busy areas? Cause sometimes Uber will send u on a mission for 5-$6 when the tip is not guaranteed but expected
@OliviaHenry
@OliviaHenry 3 года назад
Yes, I accept every single order. Sometimes an order will take you to a place that you didn’t even realize was a good spot because you’d never been there before. Accepting every order (at least in the beginning) helps you to learn your market. If you’ve been delivering for a while and every time you’ve brought an order to a certain area the app got dry, then you could make the decision not to accept orders to that location, but for me, accepting every order has been working well. And also, when I made this video the app never used to show you what restaurant it was until after you accepted, it never showed you where the customer lived until after you picked up the food, and it never showed you how much you were going to make; you found out after you dropped it off. So at the time you had to blindly accept. But now, even though we’re given all of that information beforehand, when it comes to Uber Pro you get more points for delivering within certain times. So even if an order isn’t “worth it” money wise, it may be worth it points wise. This is how I see it; the more orders you do the more money and points you get. When an order comes in, that’s guaranteed money. If you decline it, there’s no guarantee another one is going to come in. So you declined a low paying order for a high paying order that might not exist. I’m not about throwing away guaranteed money.
@brucetyler8846
@brucetyler8846 3 года назад
U also accept the orders where the pay is less than the amount of miles for the order?
@OliviaHenry
@OliviaHenry 3 года назад
Yes. Most of the time I get an order while I’m driving (as I said in the video). I can’t look at my phone to see what restaurant it is, how many kilometres it is, how much time it’s supposed to take, how much the order is paying, and where the customer lives; all while in a fast moving vehicle. Typically I just see how much money the trip is paying (because that’s written in the biggest font) before I tap to accept it. And even if the dollar amount is $3, I’m still going to accept the order because $3 orders are always right around the corner. One thing I will say though; if you deliver in certain cities you are shown how much you’re going to make, including the projected tip, before you accept the order. Currently in Toronto, you are not shown the projected tip. So a $3 order could turn into an $8 order because the person tipped you $5, and all you did was drive down the street. When I’m delivering in downtown Toronto, I average tips from 80% - 90% of the people I deliver to. So the “amount I’m going to make” shown on the screen really doesn’t mean anything to me because that number can easily double after tips; and it has on multiple occasions. So if you live in a place where you’re shown the tip, or lack thereof, before hand; then the money to miles/km ratio might not be worth it to you. But since I’m not shown that, I always assume my customers are going to tip, therefore I accept every order.

Recently I haven't been driving daily; just on the weekends starting at 5PM (because of school). I still average over $20 an hour. I make about $100 per day working weekends in the evening, so $300 per week. I personally haven't seen a decrease in earnings; the reason I make "less" now is because I drive for less time, but if I drove for the same amount of hours I used to, I'd still make $1000+ a week because I'm still making enough hourly to hit $200 - $300 a day with full time hours. What city are you delivering in? If you're in the Toronto area, I recommend driving downtown. You could try going down there one day (preferably on the weekend) and see if the earnings are actually higher. You don’t have to go to a major city to earn good money, but it’s worth a shot. However, I do think travelling one hour there and back on a regular basis could get tedious.

how many kilometers do you drive per day on average while on deliveries
@OliviaHenry
@OliviaHenry 2 года назад
For a 4 - 5 hour shift, I drive about 150km. For example, on January 2nd I drove 162.47km (I use the Quickbooks app to track my mileage) and I made $161.89; so pretty much a dollar per kilometre. I personally don’t pay attention to mileage though. I focus more on time (not per trip, but in general). In this video I talked about working 10 hour days; which I can do over the summer, but not during the school year (I’m currently doing my undergrad), so I have to budget my time wisely. So if I can go out 5 hours a day Friday to Sunday, I want to make sure I can earn $100 *minimum* each day within those 5 hours. On January 2nd I was out for 4 hours and 39 minutes and made $161.89; which surpassed my goal. My point is, a person’s house could be many kilometres away from the restaurant, but if most of that is highway driving, you’re going to get there quick. So you’ll complete that order quickly, do more trips per hour, and thus make more money in a shorter period of time.

Finding parking in downtown is very hard. How do you avoid parking tickets?
@OliviaHenry
@OliviaHenry 3 года назад

@@OliviaHenry That's good to hear! :D Would you ever consider doing ubereats with bike if the streets get busier later on?
@OliviaHenry
@OliviaHenry 4 года назад
Most likely not. 1. I don't currently own a bike. 2. Some food places don't allow you to pick up if you're on a bike. 3. I feel as though food/drinks have a higher chance of spilling if they're in a bag on your back. 4. I feel like you would only get short distance orders, because you can only go so far on a bike; and it's the long distance orders that pay well. 5. I don't live close to downtown, and where I live I'd have to take the GO train/bus which is 7+ dollars one way. To spend over $14 just to get there and back, wouldn't seem worth it to me. I spend less money than that on gas.

Appreciate your videos. I think you used a bad example on the insulated pizza bag. People and you too should just buy an insulated pizza bag instead of skipping a restaurant that requires you to have one. They don't cost that much especially if you are making $1300 week! You should be PREPARED. I haven't started driving yet but I'm researching and making sure I'm properly prepared for when I do start which means having all necessary tools. Just my 2 cents.
@OliviaHenry
@OliviaHenry 3 года назад
I don’t see the difference if I pick it up or if someone else does. There’s nothing wrong with skipping an order; because it’ll just go to someone else. If someone is just starting Uber Eats and doesn’t know whether or not they intend to do it long term, buying a pizza bag right off the bat may not be the best financial decision at the moment. I’m just letting those people know that it’s ok to skip an order if you know you can’t fulfill it. I think it’s good that you’re preparing for all orders though. 🙂

Let me tell you thr truth! form the way how you explain what you have explained, clearly, you're not an Uber Eat driver. Does Uber pay good for making such as youtube videos?
@OliviaHenry
@OliviaHenry 3 года назад
Let me tell you the truth. You’re not very good at analysis because I am an Uber Eats driver. I literally have videos of me driving for Uber showing me picking up the food and the dash cam footage of me driving from place to place. And no, Uber does not pay me to make these videos. I started doing something new and my channel is about me sharing my life, thoughts, and opinions; so I decided to share this as well. You literally don’t know who I am or what I do, so don’t judge me off a 33 minute video.

@@OliviaHenry ok, can you explain why Uber Eat driver carries the responsibility if an item is missing from the order however a mistake like that could be a mistake of restaurant team member who has packed the food
@OliviaHenry
@OliviaHenry 3 года назад
I personally have never encountered that problem, but I assume it’s because you’re “supposed” to check if everything is there. However, with McDonald’s orders for example, they close the bag with stickers so you can’t check if everything is in the bag. However, for some restaurants, they may forget the drink or something. Like, if someone asks for a bottle of iced tea from a restaurant, odds are that iced tea isn’t going to be in the bag; you’ll hold it in your hand and carry it in the cup holder of your car. It’s a confusing scenario because Uber gives you the list of items the person bought so you can double check the food, but restaurants are closing the bags in a way where you can’t. I just check for “loose” drinks (like cans or bottles of pop) and confirm with the cashier that I get those. Other than that, I just pick up and drop off the food and hope everything is in there.

Are you saying I shouldn’t give people tips because they’ll start making more money and drive more, thus leaving less deliveries for me? Or that I shouldn’t give people tips because Uber will fire me? If it’s the former, that’s the point of the video; I want to help drivers learn ways to make more money. I very much dislike when people keep the “secrets” to themselves. There’s nothing wrong with putting other people on. And there’s far too many people ordering food for someone to get 0 deliveries in an 8 hour shift, so I’ll still have work. If it’s the latter, Uber literally gives you bonuses for referring people; so I don’t think they’re going to be upset that I’m getting more people interested in driving for them. Or maybe I’ve completely misunderstood your statement. If so, please clarify.

I’m not fighting. You stated your opinion then I stated mine. That’s not a fight, it’s a discussion. If someone was going to start delivering with Uber, I highly doubt my video is going to be the make it or break it moment for them. Before I started driving I watched hours of Uber Eats videos. Assuming other people have done the same, my video is just one of many they’ve already watched and isn’t going to be the main deciding factor. And just for reference, I made this video 9 months ago. My most recent video is of me doing Uber Eats every day for a week in downtown Toronto. 9 months later I still manage to make $100+ a day while only working evenings (because of school) despite “everybody doing gig work and taking all the jobs.” So you don’t have proof to back up your point while I do because things have remained unchanged. I’m not going to gatekeep Uber driving…

Lol, pizza bags aren’t as easy to find as you’d think. I went to buy them off the Uber website, but they only sell them from America. Because of the shipping, it would be nearly $200CAD for the pizza bag; that’s not worth it.
