Thanks for watching Good Morning Magic! If you enjoyed the episode, it'd mean a lot to me if you subscribed: it only takes one click, and helps grow the channel.
War leads to war, leads to war, leads to war. In times of peace, there is no reason to go to war. The Phyrexians have recently invaded and were thankfully stopped in their tracks, but now is the time to heal, not to conquer. The only thing Rowans path will entail is the further divide of the Realms. Diplomacy is the far better option right now.
I like both the Scions but I don't think the "ambitious woman is now the villain" turn is all that cool. Maybe that's not how they'll do it but we'll see. I think Will would've been a cooler villain, especially with the Azorius identity
I'm still so sad that they done did kill off Mr. and Mrs. Kenrith. And now the two oldest heirs are embroiled in conflict against one another? Truly there are no 'happily ever afters' in Magic: The Gathering.
My first iteration of my planeswalker control deck was with Will and Rowan Kenrith as partner commanders. It was such a fun deck, I always went back to it.
The only person I feel really sorry about in all this on Eldraine was Queen Linden, Lore-wise a lot stronger than the King (she did her whole quest-thing without even needing the resurrection) and all she had was a boring life-gain card that didn't really fit thematically. Overall I liked Rowan's arc more than Will's, interested whether she ends up in a similar place like Liliana, doing something fucked up and somehow looking for a redemption.
Based on card design it seems like Will is the more antagonistic one here. He has an army behind him, and not only that, he's above his people by riding a horse while they're on foot. He has more armor than his sister, and his armor is more menacing with its spikes. Rowan, on the other hand, is alone, not making anyone follow her into her battles. She isn't putting her people at risk, and she's actually lowering herself by moving down stairs.
I always felt bad for Will. After Battlebond, Rowan always seemed to be the hero and Will was kinda her sidekick. Rowan got to be the one with a dedicated Planeswalker deck. Rowan was the one on the front face of the modal card. Rowan got to Crackle With Power while Will lost a leg.
maybe it has some reason behind the twins losing their spark, but as they have it shared between them, to me they didn't need to lose their spark, as they are fighting each other, i see this as a strong reason for the two being unable to go planeswalking
I really think Rowan’s flavour text should have been cut down at the end to remove the “with power.” Ironically, the statement in my opinion would have been more powerful with just “The old way.”
@@elijahcastillo7679 really?! And I thought the Doctor Who crossover was going to be enough to get me back into Magic. Do you have any idea if they're going to have cards with titles like the lone Wanderer or The Courier?
I don't Care about Magic anymore! 😄 You finally broke me with your overproduction! 😂 Farewell, Magic!!! May you go down and take all shareholders with you!!!
Nah it’s Eriette messing with her. What happens in the end is that Will does an impromptu team up with Kellan to take down Eriette and Ashiok and then Rowan, who was with Eriette, said “I refuse to be the messed up family member my brother so graciously forgave” and quite literally rockets off, presumably to hone her powers even further
Definitely Team Rowan. Will just calls himself king just because his daddy was. And Rowan feeling like her family doesn’t care about her and going “I refuse to be the woman my brother graciously forgives” hits close to home
Feels like projecting on your part tbh. Rowan sides with the witch who is controlling thousands of innocents against their will, forcing them into both eternally sleeping and fighting. She starts a straight-up civil war that a whole four people actually want based on the manipulations of Eriette and Ashiok. Frankly she doesn’t even deserve forgiveness, and the fact that she takes it as a given speaks to both Will’s generosity (or at least her image of him) and her own arrogance.
Rowan's. Politics always end up accomplishing nothing. Rowan wants to change it and she will, Will on the other hand will likely just end up doing nothing.
Bro Rowan’s card is so much stronger, what are you on. Paying life is meant to be downside, so it’s naturally much easier to do than gaining life. Turning that into upside is crazy strong. Necropotence now draws AND ramps. Bolas’ Citadel makes the cards in your hand cheaper. Wall of Blood can just give her X = 20 out of nowhere. Shit is wild. Not to mention Rakdos having X cost kill spells like Crackle with Power and Exsanguinate to actually kill the opponent, unlike Azorious just drawing cards or making bodies.
