@@NorthwoodsInteractive THANK U ,, Please I hope you will create a step-by-step tutorial for beginners on how to create a custom metahuman character for a non-human creature or being as shown in your channel videos I have not found anyone doing this for free on RU-vid for beginners step by step and I have been very tired searching for tutorials
Hey Lorenzo de Sancti here! I absolutely love this video and I'm so happy to see my kit 'Medieval Shipwreck' featured in that epic scene. Your work is amazing, and it's awesome to see how it inspired you to create such a fantastic shot. Keep up the great work!
This was incredible on all fronts, all from one person!!!! Well done, Bravo!!! You’re doing amazing stuff and thanks for sharing I’m glad I started off here and have already started implementing some of the techniques you’ve thought
I’m a 3D motion designer that uses C4D +Octane. I’m currently on a project where I need to show a ship in the sea and just creating an ocean that goes off into the horizon is next to impossible. Seeing stuff like this and it’s all real time just kills me inside! Need to find myself some time to make the move! Thanks for a great video 🙏
Subscribed! Like honestly this is so crazy good. The highlight of this which I must point out is the camera work and editing. The animation, lighting and storytelling is amazing, but the way the camera followed the guy flying after the explosion or the guy falling and then cutting to the ships broadside is just something else. You really have an eye for it. Also loved seeing your indie studio setup. One thing I can recommend is that you can just apply a noise modifier on the transform track instead of keyframing the ships floating, saving time - I have a tutorial for that on my channel. But yeah, so happy I came across this video. Can't wait to see more of your work! 😍
love this breakdown in ue5, i think you have a good eye for action scenes, would love to see a full blown action oriented film from you in ue (plus breakdown of course!)
Thank you so much for sharing. just got a new Subscriber. I have an animation project with boats in it and was intimidated by the challenge. But seeing it in your video motivates me. Thanks

Incredible work again! Just curious, did having so many Metahumans in your scene cause any performance slowdown? Or were most of your background characters low / medium quality since you didn't need any facial MoCap for them?
A lot of the metahumans are set to LOD 3, although some i had to keep at LOD1 or they wouldn't work with their custom clothing. It definitely is a chunky project but not as bad as you would think.
Honestly, it's just a bunch of RU-vid tutorials and the UE documentation and RU-vid channel. For metahumans, i learned a ton from Feeding_Wolves, JSFilmz, Jonathan Winbush, and Bad Decisions Studio
First and foremost, awesome work! I’m a huge fan of your works especially the way you explain the breakdowns and stuff! Way to go! I’ve got a couple questions though. Which pc are you using for your projects? What’s the specifications? Also, do you import the meta humans in high quality or lower ones? Finally, how long did this whole project take you to complete?
Great questions, and ones I meant to answer in this breakdown but ended up rushing to finish... Computer specs: RTX 3090, i9, 64gb RAM Project took a total of 8 days, at an average of 8 hours per day. A lot of that time was spent experimenting though; now that ove done a scene like this, i think I could do it in half the time. And if I were to make additional scenes for this, it would be even faster. The battle scene shots i got done about two per day, so a bit slower than the rest. The metahumans i do low quality generally, i do not see a huge difference unless doing extreme closeups
@@NorthwoodsInteractive Thank you very much! I’m doing my masters in visual effects now and I’m due to submit my final work in 2 months time. I’m doing a short film in Unreal Engine about pirates and I’ve been watching your tutorials on meta humans and Move Ai and got to say it’s really really helpful!! I just wanted to know if using 3 or more metahumans in a single scene would be too much to process for my laptop (which has RTX 3080 Ti, i7, 32 Gb RAM). Do you have any suggestions?
Also, is there any way I could contact you, ‘cause it would be really helpful to get your inputs on my project! Thank you very much and keep rocking! Much love mate!
@NorthwoodsInteractive well it's fantastic work bud. Keep going. I do unreal shorts as well and found myself doing the same workflow, lemme know if u wanna collab. Recently been experimenting with custom textures for metahumans and boy is it getting freaky!
I will total everything up, but that is probably pretty close. Just the ship was $200, Medieval Armor is like $400. Keep in mind i use these assets for multiple projects.
Excellent work in terms of UE but maybe use people who really speak Spanish. These guys sound more like 'gringos' :) It's the only part that took me out of the story.
Incredible JOB, love your videos!! @NorthwoodsInteractive For next time you can count on me if you want to speak in Spanish from Spain with an Andalusian accent
