Dude, just found your channel today and I must say, as an artist that has always loved mechanics and physics, your art is just like the best of both worlds. I really wish you all the luck always on your journey, choosing art is not easy and it can really be quite expensive. Watching all the older videos and subscribing, anxious to see what more you come up with
My son and I have been watching your videos, he loves them. He's six and is destined to be a mech eng like his Dad so these are some great inspiration. We're from Soo Ontario, somehow he called it within seconds of the first video that you're Canadian and sure enough you're in T.O
7:19 😂 like a kid waiting and watching for his prize! Don't ever lose that childlike wonder! Makes all the days better, and is the dumbest things us adults lose when we 'grow up'
Nice work dude! I really like how you made it interactive. I haven't been to that show but I'm guessing it was probably unique in that way. @2:55 Also the big hands remind me of that episode of its always sunny where charlie's uncle is obsessed with large hands
Awesome sculpture design. The only thing to improve would be if you made it a bit more effortless to operate. Also for something like the hands, a cool idea to do that would be to print a thin 2 part mold shell, and use self-skinning foam. It would probably only take about as much filament and time as 1 hand, and the hands are not a structural component so they could be made of lightweight foam
Man I am so choked I missed this!! I’m from Toronto and went to Nuit Blanche but didn’t know you had an exhibit 😭. Great job though, really interesting to see your problem solving for scaling up the design!
What a spectacular build! I thought for sure that the special edition copies would be gone; however, I was fortunate enough to grab one. I'm very excited to get my hands on it 😉. It would be great if you could sign and number them before they get sent out.
Love your videos man! Watching you get that big thing through the door made my intrusive thoughts say “slam it against the door frame”. Also you may or may not remember a few months ago I said that I was making a controller mounted joystick that I found online. I just finished it yesterday because I had to reprint the baseplates which wasn’t fun. Then I had no string to attach the joystick triggers to the controller triggers. Then I had to move which was a pain and put the project off for months. I was only able to finish it yesterday though I ran out of cord for the 4th and final trigger on the joystick which was extremely painful. Always nice to see two projects come together at the same time
Thanks Max! I did bump it on pretty much anything I could on the way out 😂 luckily PLA is quite resilient. Happy to hear about you successful project! Doesn’t matter how long it takes 🙌
Jay, As your longest and biggest fan you never disappoint. Watching this with a big smile on my face, I just kept saying to myself, he never disappoints, he is always a step ahead in his thoughts. My only thought during the whole thing was, do you think in the back of his mind that he is thinking of putting motors instead of paddles? I know you were thinking it 😂😂🤣. Keep on keeping on, you’re awesome. Give your lovely wife a hug! See on the next great mind boggling awesome idea!
U went to nuit? Thats so cool I used to do that when I lived in Toronto, it was great speaking with you at open sauce, I saw these hands when I was there but I didn’t remember they were yours at the time
You should have built your own dampeners, easy to do. Plenty of examples from the last 100 years or so. Then you are self-sufficient as an engineer, as well. Cool project.
Many people in Toronto grew up getting very excited when they would spot the CN Tower from places around the city and it seems to stick with you even as you get older!
Guessing seeing the later designing, the UI looks the same and guessing it's the same. And in the design I see Solidworks. I'm guessing Fusion also has a slicer, but I'm only learning it and don't want to introduce more complexity or chances to mess up, 😂
Hay love the videos but i fell $198.88 dollars for sm that's 3d printed (with berrings) is expensive even if it's a collectors item but keep doing what your doing love the videos.
The best part are those big hands and their many possibilities available now that you've made them! I can't wait to see how you get (JBV)creative with those!
Oke.....have you thought of making more money of this thing and making it even bigger...😅😅?? Im asking because i saw a positive way of doing exercise 😂😂😂.... I men huuuuuggge padles so a foot can stand on and adding some hand rails....and you got a huge stepper that us not so ugly as most steppers .... then make the hands hold " standardized" Weights and your done 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Honestly it would be fun to see those things and you would have an even better sculpturen people could fysically interact with.....
