As we take a short holiday break, we want to treat you to some of our favorite episodes from our Patreon account. This episode is a special one, showcasing the process of creating a wedding cake in 2022 for our producer, director, and longtime friend, Vincent Cross, and his wife, Shaelin. The chosen theme for their celebration includes layers inspired by tiramisu and funfetti sheet cake. Follow along as I try to transport from NYC to Austin, TX.

I SOOOO appreciate this behind the scenes. While I love the edited cooking assembling and serving videos we all see online, that outright omits the amazing planning, labor, strategy, wins AND problems that are the reality of baking projects. Claire is a badass, even when things went wrong. Critical thinking skills 10/10.

i strive to be like claire in the things i do... methodical with a little bit of neurosis. having lots of fun. a touch of brilliancy. and in the end enjoy the result of my hard work with child-like happiness like when she takes a bite out of a good dessert. idk, i just find it very awe-inspiring. harris was like you are v organized. and she was like i know moving on. hahaha i love ):

Many RU-vid videos can teach you how to make Italian Meringue Buttercream, but only Claire can capture the time, care and dedication it takes to make a Wedding cake. As a non-professional baker I made one once for a very good friend and it's an experience I will never forget. For a week I was in a state of being hyper-organized, comletely Zen, panicking, full of love and joy, super-focused all at the same time. Beautiful video!

I love Claire so much! I was born and raised in Indonesia, and during pandemic i was struggling so much as a college student in her final year trying to graduate and find a job. I found comfort in watching her in BA account and i still follow her until now. I got her book and just so in love with it! She’s such a personality and the reason for my passion for baking. In 2022 i move to Austin, TX for school and just the fact that she was here where i am was so wild and just like a dream come true. I know its too dramatic but it’s crazy where i was then and where i am now. Love you claire!

This is just awesome and wonderful! I can see how much Claire cares for Vinny, and how she shows her love through baking. Her dedication to making it "just right" is so clear! Plus, the video at the wedding is priceless because Claire is trying to get out of the shot so Vinny and Shaelin can have the moment to themselves - and they seem completely happy to share the moment with Claire... Priceless. Yes, I love the precise planning, including cake-cutting diagrams, pre-ordering groceries, and the perfect packing of the shipped items. But all in all, this is an act of love.
