I've always felt uncomfortable with lineart, but i didn't realize it might have been limiting me in some way. I'm going to try overpainting more, thank you for this video!

I always block out the color and shapes and then get to line art later. Works for me.

Ahhh I needed this !! My biggest problem with digital art is limeart too it feels limiting....but at the same time I feel like it's a good guidance for me so I'm trying to find an art style where I could blend the lineart with the paint and not make it seem too rough (like yours for example, your art looks so beautiful and soft and the lineart looks blended with the rest!!)
@blossominq
@blossominq 2 года назад
SAME!! IVE BEEN STRUGGLING WITH THIS FOR SO LONG!! i feel like my rendering process is so limited due to the lines, but at the same time i depend on my lines to render so its so hard to want to paint over them.

@Beri 908 IDK IM STILL TRYING TO FIGURE IT OUTTT 😭😭
@Ang3l_di
@Ang3l_di 2 года назад
My problem is for sketching 😅 But if you want some idea for your art style, you can maybe check some semi realistic art channel on youtube and Instagram, and to get a soft result you can take soft colours and try to recreate the same vibes then here :)
@thornarts
@thornarts 2 года назад
a good thing to do is draw a sketch really simple and un detailed so you know where everything is, then when you go over it with hair and stuff then you get the same flow as you are drawing it for the first time but still with a guide
@blossominq
@blossominq 2 года назад
@@thornarts THE PROBLEM I HAVE WITH THIS, is that my sketches usually have REALLY BAD anatomy, and i always fix it up during the lineart. im worried that going straight to rendering with poor anatomy and the stress that is rendering will overwhelm me.
@claudias7127
@claudias7127 2 года назад
the hair rendering process is always the heaviest and time consuming, but also the most enjoyable process to me after the skintone rendering

Your art looks so very very good! I really wonder how artists like you do their arts because it looks so beautiful. I’ve just started in digital art and everything seems so hard for me to do. The moment I saw your thumbnail I know that your art style is the one I’m really into. May I ask if you can post some tips or tutorials on how you make your illustrations? Thank you so much. You just earned a new subscriber here. I’ll be waiting for your next videos!

This give me so much insight about not to feel afraid to set my layers above my lineart. i dont know why im so scared of it, but this type of coloring style is my sole goal and i'll do my best to achieve it. Thank you so much for the video Mint-tan !

I really loved watching this, thank you for sharing it with us!! I’ve got a similar process but I really love how you’ve done it and I love your shading and colours too! I’ll do my best to apply what I’ve learnt to my own work as well!! 💕💕 I love using CSP so much! Auto-actions and brushes from the asset page has saved me so much time and it’s amazing how well you implemented them! I noticed from another comment that you usually save a non-background version as a png and import it before liquifying, just thought I’d let you know from a fellow CSP user to another; You can essentially do the same by hiding your background and going ‘Layer’ > ‘Merge visible to new layer’ which will give you a new layer with a copy of all visible layers merged together!! Hope this helps! 💞

On another note, the panorama background is completely new to me and I had no idea it existed! It’s an absolute life-saver as someone who hates working with backgrounds such as me, I owe you my life for bringing it to my attention!

For me I made a new layer (under the earring layer, above the rest of the layers), filled it with white, and lowered the opacity! Putting all the layers in a folder like the above comment works too, I'm just too lazy to folder them lol xD

This was rlly insightful!! I have a question though, for your lighting layer I noticed you used a layer masking and I tried to follow- but it seems like the entire thing turns completely blue instead of being layered with the other colored parts, unless I merge my layers and copy, but I don't want to merge my layers yet. How do you do this without merging the layers?
