I agree, this is one of the best instructional videos I have seen on making one of these. I love that it is thinner than most of the ones I have seen. I will be making a couple of these now. Thank you for the video!
Hello, Thank you for watching! Yes I did. I bought the 4’x8’ then cut it down to size. You can get 4 small cases out of that or 2 large cases. You can also cut it for other sizes as long as you have the right measurements!
Although it’s cheaper to get the bigger board and cut it down versus pre-cut, but yes Home Depot & Lowe’s usually have the 4’x2’ already cut but they will cut any board. Lowes sometimes have the 4’x 4’ boards pre-cut as well.
Hey I just realized you was talking about the borders I’m sorry I was thinking about the pegboard. I haven’t found any pre-cut but they sale a hand held saw with a yellow guide to help you cut the wood. Walmart sells them as well and should be under $15 maybe under $10.
@stephaniebrownames4125 I'm just seeing your response. Thank you. I never did make them, but here I am again watching your video because I really need to do it. I was about to order them from etsy, but the shipping cost made me think twice. Going to look for the saw
Thank you! That was thing when I started the materials were cheaper than when I stopped. Depending on the size that I made it was cheaper than a large one. But I would say about $80 for the large ones to make and under that for the smaller ones on the material. I charged based on price of material, people in the area, and what I wanted to pay myself for doing it. It was fun in the beginning, then people didn’t want to pay for what I was asking which they would pay more if coming from a name brand company so I decided to stop!
Thanks for watching, but I chose spray paint because it dried quicker at that time. I did try brush painting on some boards, but not all. Although anyone can choose their desired paint. I was just showing the steps I made.
Hello. I don’t make them anymore because they started getting expensive to make and ship. Then people thought they grew from trees and not made out of the tree.
Hi I really wanna make this case I love it! What size was your peg board and how long was the trim on each side I want to go buy these supplies right now but the store ain't even open yet lol
Hey 👋🏽 ….everything is in the description. I used the smallest board on the video but the tallest I’ve made was the 4’x2’. Most of the trim I had picked a top and bottom and the sides I would take 2ins out per whatever the measurements were. Like for the 24”x24” the sides would be 22” and so on for the longer boards. I’m sorry I’m just getting over C-19 so my mind is fuzzy right now! I’ll check back with you when I get out of this funk to see if I was able to help!
I always bought my board at Home Depot and they cut it. I think they was cheaper when I did it that’s why I would buy from them. All the other materials I bought all over Lowe’s, Walmart, Harbor Freight, and HD. Now Lowe’s 4’x4’ pegboard was a different type of board. If you have a smaller board like a 4’x4’ then I don’t see why a jigsaw wouldn’t work just make sure you cut a straight line. I wouldn’t recommend cutting a 8’x4’ unless you know what you are doing safely!
Well when I started a 8’x4’ pegboard was under $20 then it was little over that but now they are over $30. Then I would cut that down to size. Then trim wood was over $6. I’m not sure how much they are now. Locks, hinges, hooks, and paint were around $5 or over that. I bought the screws in bulk around $20 at Lowe’s. I would go to Harbor Freight, Home Depot, Lowe’s, and Walmart (for the small stuff). I’ll just say shop around because they all would be cheaper on some items that the other store wasn’t.
