hello, i appreciate the videos. wanna learn! i did some research and i found the cnc router that you have, i wish you could tell me something about it! god bless you!
I appreciate this tutorial and the different way of doing it. I love the idea of being able to buy these lights in bulk and then change out then separate colors for the silicone cover. To me, this seems more cost effective rather than buying a bunch of lights in different colors. Wiring seems much cleaner, too.
Thanks so much for this great tutorial! I always wondered how these lights were made! Super cool! (And kudos to you for both routing & soldering!) You are talented, and the sign looks GREAT!
Hey Mia! Thank you SO much for these videos!!! If you have time could you make a detailed soldering video? I’m sooo intimidated by soldering! Thank you so much!!!
That’s a great suggestion! I will work on it! It can be intimidating, but it can be done!! I felt the same but remembered my middle school tech class days when we had to solder one light on a circuit board!! I figured if my 8th grade teacher could help us, I could relearn how to do it now yearssss later! Lol
@@LoveandLyteSignss hahaha yaaasss!! I was trying to call on my school days of soldering too! I guess there ain’t nothin to it but to do it! Thank you for the encouragement!!! Can’t wait to see more videos from you! 💜
@@LoveandLyteSignss hey Mia! I have a quick question. What wire are you using to solder the led strips? It looks so thin and doesn’t look wrapped in anything lol are my eye going bad? Thank you! Can’t wait for my videos! 💜
Are you using a slotting bit to cut the channel in the acrylic or just a regular straight bit? It seems like the silicone will stay in the groove either way?
Can you post the info about your CNC setup? I also prefer the detail of "neon" signs using separate LEDs and silicone rather than the other type. I like your machine setup.
You need to be enough helpful and generous and show the people how to do that in inscape not cutting out vedio and show only results. This way your channel will not chatch people eyes.
Can I ask what type of font you use to have the even size through out the text, to fit the silicone? Also, what led and silicone do you use? Thanks so much, signs look awesome!
I use a special 6mm bit made specifically for split neon LED signs! I just listed: 6mm Routing Bit and Collet for Split Neon LED Lights, for $60.00 via @amazon www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BRWNV9S8/ref=cx_skuctr_share?smid=A1XN8Q8TPURRE3
@@valaness 4.2mm is what is recommended for the groove. I take it down to 4.3 with my bit zero’d just enough to take the paper masking off. I found sometimes with 4.2 the ridge would sometimes be too fragile.
I do not at the moment. There are many different methods to making these, and people use different programs. I have shared files with friends and they have not always worked without needing to be altered.
There is! It routes out a groove that is 8mm wide and then 6mm at the top to allow the neon LED lights and strips to fit securely in the groove. Here is the link to it on my amazon! amzn.to/41isVlw
Nice tutorial! I see you used Inkscape for the drawing. What program do you use for the CNC to do the cuttting with? How difficult was it for you to lean this on a scale from 1 to 10. Any good videos on how best to use the Inkscape. I have supported you buy purchasing though the links you provvied. Thank you
Hey! Awesome! I use Inventables Easel and the Makerverse software that came with my CNC! I am working on a tutorial and will circle back. It has just been crazy with the summer and signs!!
Thanks for the very helpful video. Can you tell me if covering the LED's with the thin wires will dim the covered LED's a lot where you can notice dark spots when they are covered with the silicone diffuser or is it best to place the wires to the sides of the LED's so they won't obstruct them?
Hey Tim! My adapters have been on backorder!!! I can provide everything else if you want to email me, I can send an invoice. I will circle back when I get my full kits back in stock!!
This is amazing! Thanks so much, If someone wanted to put the power cord through the back of the sign where would you recommend drilling the hole so the sign looks clean?
