I love your Academy thus far! I have learned so much in all three classes! Though I will say it has gotten me in a pickle. A high school started on fire here... And everything in the music room was lost... The community has been coming together to replace the lost instruments... A lot of old instruments are coming out of attics... They need to be cleaned, set up, and seams need to be closed. Someone told someone, told someone... Etc. And word got out that in doing this... Now people are coming to me. 🤔😢 I'm not ready!... But I have been told that I have learned how to glue beautifully. As long as nothing needs varnished... Edger... Can you do a series on instrument repair? I would sign up in a heartbeat.
Damn Edgar, I love this video. I will recommend it to my son who I'm teaching violin making to right now. My son is 13 (cool conductor) on RU-vid and is working on his first instrument, a viola. Sometimes it can help to have someone auther than your father teaching you something. Thanks again
Thank you for this video and the Academy! I too am interested in a Cello scroll. I know, you focus now is the Violin, but perhaps something to consider for the future.😊
Hi Edgar, thank you for your video. I may ask, are there violin scrolls that are bigger than the other? I purchased a violin which is Italian not from Cremona but from Brescia and the scroll seems to be bigger than my French and German, is this normal?
Hello Edgar I hope you're doing well and everything's fine. My question is with so much controversy my question is on the scroll, why do some Maker's make their Scrolls uniform on the bay side and the treble side where they look almost identical? And where there are some makers that the differences between the base side and the treble side of the Scrolls have big difference and they're completely different sizes? Does it really matter if dimensions of the scroll from the Bayside triple side really affect sound that much. Or is it just a matter of preference.?
