Good morning from Tarpon Springs, Florida I love your channel I live on 1/3 acre, Zone 9 and I have been a gardener from a teen, now 68 y o. You have blessed me with your ways of doing things, just laid back like me. Thank you brother. I will try other things thanks to you. Praying for you and the Homestead, be blessed and again I say THANK YOU!!
@@donaldtaylorceoofmorningst2617 Amen brother! Thank you so much for your comment! I’m sure I could learn a thing or two from you as well! I hope the hurricanes didn’t rough you up too bad. I’m still praying for all of those affected! It’ll be years before there’s any semblance of “normal”. Take care and God Bless!
Hello. I'm new to your channel. I don't have any suggestions regarding planting (yet 😊), but I do have one suggestion about recording. It would be greatly appreciated if you could minimize the fast camera movement. It makes me feel somewhat dizzy😵 from quick eye movements. I really do enjoy your channel and I'm looking forward to seeing more videos. 😊
Oh and no offense intended I meant to mention solider flies are ok to play around with. But. Nightcrawlers is the way to go. Chickens dream of nightcrawlers. And they are much easier to raise. You use the tub just different. Chicken food and you can sell them too. Nothing to it compared to Rasing fly's. Local stores will buy them up too...!!! Peace.
Iam not a homesteader but I just enjoy seeing your set up and things grow etc. can’t wait to see how you do your stall etc. do you get eggs for yourself? Oh been meaning to ask how you control pests on what u grow many thanks
Yes, I do get eggs for myself. For the most part, I don't have a heavy pest issue, but when I do, I used OMRI approved pest control sprays. Pretty much natural oils. If pests get really bad, I will use stronger pesticides, but I rarely have to go there. I'd say less than once a year do I have to spray a non OMRI approved pesticide.
I use different hoses. Pretty much whatever I can get my hands on. I don't really bury them either. Some get buried over time and in my backyard garden I did cover some with wood chips.
@@southernyankeeprepper great question! I am on well water. I have two wells. I get about 8 gallons per minute on both. I don’t run all quadrants at once. I have the timers set up to water one section at a time. Thanks for watching!
#1 critical mistake you are making is you don't have a cow. Pigs you can buy cheaper than you can raise. But cows are a whole different ball game. Beef is what 's for dinner. A cow is nothing to raise. Cheap and easy to take care of. They sell for around $3000 and up off the pole. Never buy Dairy cows, ever. You get nothing for them. And boy howdy are they heavy maintenance. Hereford cows are the way to go. Just 1 should last you all year or more. Easy to raise if you have 5 acres or even 2 acres. Lot of food there with little work. Breed her and you get your next one free. You can buy a calf and feed her up slow or fast. Peace.
@@hopemorrison2367 My goals are to improve my mental health, spread the word about mental health struggles for military veterans, and to provide food for myself and my community. Earlier this year I provided potatoes to the Steve Harvey boys camp here in Georgia to feed the kids and from that point on I’ve been really looking to feed more people.
