We are talking MONEY, honey. In this video I go over ALL of my scholarship offers from WUSTL, UCLA, Georgetown, Northwestern, Cornell, Berkeley, UPenn, and Columbia! I give you the exact numbers I received, if I negotiated a better offer, and insight into my thought process (disclaimer: this is not advice, just things I learned form my experience so take it all with a grain of salt). We are going in depth in this video covering my scholarship negotiation strategy, things I learned and found valuable in dealing with financial aid office, and I'm even giving you my FREE scholarship tracker for law school so you have a tool to help track and understand your finances as you plan for school. I hope that my experience is insightful and makes you feel confident about advocating for yourself and maximizing the amount of scholarship you can receive to minimize your law school debt! 🙏❤️

Of course! I hope it’s helpful. Some people from last year who saw my videos said this negotiation one helped them so I’m glad it has paid off for at least some people.

Thank you 🙏 yah dialing up a financial aid office (especially penn and Columbia who initially gave me $0) to ask for 6 figures was 🥴 but I’m glad I did it!

Thank you for posting this! I know many law students who had no idea you could even negotiate, it's such a bummer because people miss out on so much money without. I'm super hyped UCLA gave you so much. I also applied for the full-ride scholarship but didn't get it!

Yah it’s a weird process and I don’t think many people are used to negotiating in this way. I’ve also seen it seems different from other grad programs but always helps to shoot your shot! I hope UCLA ends up giving you a bunch of money as well

Do you know if HYS negotiates scholarships at all? If not, do most people qualify for need-based aid?
@tydieofficial
@tydieofficial Год назад
Pretty sure HYS are all need based there is no merit based. Not sure if need is negotiable tho

wait i missed it. is the COA the cost of attendance like your housing, food, etc? or is the COA all of that plus the yearly tuition?
@tydieofficial
@tydieofficial Год назад
Cost of attendance is tuition + any other expenses like housing, food, books, etc.

Hi! I just discovered your channel since I’m going to start studying for LSAT. Just wondering if you accept scholarship money how do you pay for other bills? Lol I’m planning on doing part time since I have to work.

Hello! It definitely depends on the person. Some people are fortunate enough to have their families pay for their expenses during school. My situation is a combination of having worked for 5 years and saving as much as I could for some expenses and also loans. Even with the scholarship I’m still taking out pretty substantial loans but there are other external scholarships you can try and apply for as well.

I am sorry but you reference a 29 years old deadline, what is that?
@tydieofficial
@tydieofficial 8 месяцев назад
It’s not necessarily a deadline and it differs school to school. Some law schools require your parents financial info (even if they aren’t providing financial assistance) until you are 29 years of age. So if you’re not sure if you need to provide it I’d call the financial aid at the school you’re interested in or attending and ask them.
