I'm really glad that the algorithm seems to be giving this video traction, I played this game an absolutely absurd amount as a child. Seeing it again in this format gives me untold nostalgia, also the fact that you wanted to make a video like this and despite not having a capture card you just went the old route of pointing your camera at the TV might be my favorite part about this. I really really like that your lack of certain tools does not stop you from creating really awesome content like this
Played this on the Wii and the only reason I'd say it's the hardest is because the battles use motion controls which are way too tricky to win if you're losing (Apart from the timing battles those are perfection and the worst is shaking battles)
Honestly, I'd say the hardest battles are the Shooting battles. Pointing and aiming is more difficult than shaking for me. Sometimes shaking gets a bit hard when they switch the direction on you, but I can usually manage. I played the Wii version of this game all the time as a kid.
@@matthewscorner2990 Fair enough, maybe it's my remote but it's hard to make a comeback because it sometimes doesn't pick up the right direction I'm shaking but shooting I find it easier to flick to a target
This is interesting because I was always the best at Shaking battles The higher levels were annoying but level 1 was easy imo; timing battles at level 3 were the worst for me since you had to shake the wii remote while doing the button presses
I'm surprised, not only because of the prospect of nuzlocking a Bakugan game, but because this is being played on the DS version and not the Wii one. Ggs, tho.
The fuck?! how have i not seen this before? This is rad! also: oh my god you poor man what have you done?! I PLAYED THIS GAME WHEN I WAS A CHILD! ARE YOU INSANE?! NUZZLOCKING THIS GAME?!!!
"Do I swear too much"? Nah man imo I like that you just say what you want without a filter. Makes the video all the more fun and I just find it more funny when you cuss out the game for its BS.
This game is fun especially the Wii version but I wish they made like DLC content where we get to fight Hal G and not to mention Alice, or just something in general to complete the story. Another sad thing is that I wish they had a Hard Mode where it follows the original anime formula where if your Bakugan is defeated then it cannot be used for the remainder of that battle. Plus it still sucks that Ravenoid and Manion were store locked (for the Wii) from which store you bought them from which was dumb instead of it being Code unlocked like the Bronze Warius and BP codes so you can buy out the store with tons of bp you cheated and got. Also when I was younger was I the only one who found it confusing that Jewels and Jennie had swapped Voice Actors in the game?
21:50 wow really? on the Wii version you straight up start with Leonidas' character card and ability card right out of the gate. I feel really bad and now understand why you were not abusing the free win Bakugan so much.
You legitimately have to tell me how the hell you're able to record with half decent quality no seriously like you actually have to tell me I can't even reporters good on my switch
You should do the challenge on the console versions cuz whilst the mini games do give you a G power boost they're not as OP as the DS version which you can literally change the outcome by just swiping on the screen.
It's insane but recently I had reset my save and did a "nuzlocke" thinking I bet no ones done this before and like 2 months later this is in my recommended
Currently only 6 minutes in. You said Ravenoid is not in this game. Bro, I own this exact version, and the only one you can't get is Warius because it is a special thing that came with a dead code. I 100 percented this game, and I can say, without a doubt, *RAVENOID EXISTS IN THIS BAKUGAN GAME!* I should know. I used it. I also caused a glitch where I had 2 Preyas's. I think it was a split between Diablo and Angelo, and a different one where I made mine temporarily Darkus instead of Aquos. I think it was because I managed to do a "Stand" to win a game, and it just got stuck like that, but all the stuff worked the same. Also, did you know that if you tapped which attribute you wanted, it always lands on it and Preyas will become that attribute? Just a little cheat i remember from when i played as a kid. Idk if i was just insanely lucky, or if that was the real deal. The only thing I regret is the lack of voice acting the DS version had, compared to the Wii and PS2 versions that existed.
I enjoyed this game and hated it at the same time. The stylus side swipe minigame fucked up my 3ds touch screen tho. Darkus was for sure the best attribute for the game since the hardest bosses were also darkus it was a win win position.
I've watched this twice and played the game as a kid and that never occurred to me. Alice is actively sabotaging Masquerade by selling upgrades to his opponent. That's hilarious.
Leonidas the true king. I always wished he and Vladitor made it into the anime in some way. I also wish the duo attribute Bakugan like Tayghen appeared after Season 1. Sadly, neither came to pass.
@@JackRipperiscomingthere are different version for the ds and the wii which could be gotten from preordering the game at toys r us and they have ravenoid and another Bakugan that I’m forgetting right now
This game was THE BEST bakugan game ever and sold really well that I don't get why they never did a similar one again later and instead changed the formula a million times! Hope they remake it with multiplayer since the computer was always easy to beat and I am sure it would do well like the new megaman remakes with multiplayer :D
They will never revive this game. They are too busy with battle planet that they never cared. Just like the show they could have kept the same basic formula of it being strategic before going into New Vestroia. The first half of New Vestroia followed the concept a bit but then became all about spamming ability cards.
I’m not sure if anyone’s given you the bad news but, Ravenoid _technically is in this game._ The problem is, the cartridge had to have been originally sold at a Toys R Us, since they got a _slightly_ different ROM that contained Ravenoid and Manion which were unlocked w/cheats inputted in the Name Selection menu at the start of a New Game. The specific code was only in the instruction manual that came with the game, and I don’t think it’s online. If you’re curious, every other version of the DS game has a Pyrus Warius given by a similar cheat code.
First off- loved the video. The energy, the commentary, the nostalgic Bakugan…solid 10/10. Heck I just started my own run. Using the PS2 version, and my god you’re gonna be pissed off to hear…when you first get Prometheus it gives both his character card and special card Alpha Blaster. Funny enough I played the DS version, but decided to try the PS2 version to get myself both excited and nervous for how the console is gonna treat me. Note: Got Pyrus for my Prometheus. The dice rolls have spoken.
Cool to see this idea on an actual RU-vid video! I basically tried the same idea on the Wii a few years ago. To make it more difficult, I had a system where I get a "point" for every enemy bakugan that I defeated. Then you spend each point on either a new bakugan, an upgrade or a card. So for example, after the first tournament I had 9 points to spend after beating three opponents. I also prohibited double stands to cheese battles and limited upgrades to G-power only. All of this is to say that I lost by the battle royale tournament lol
I still go back and replay this game to this day, this game is so good. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I heard there was a wii version that had full voice acting (I didn’t know about it until this year somehow)
I also enjoyed defenders of the core, even if it's an entirely separate style of game. Also I must be getting old if the BakuTubers are getting to the point that Gundalian Invaders was their introduction lmao. I think I tuned out everything past the second series with Helios/Spectra/Mira and merged everything past that season into one mega-series that ended with somehow Dragonoid having infinite evolutions and being essentially Bakugan Jesus but still was somehow matched by new rando Bakugan from nowheresville Earth, like the new Haos Wolverine guy they focused on so much near the end.
Never happening. They could have made a follow up story for the game but they chose not to and it could have made the game more competitive lol like the original anime.
My two first Bakugan are Darkus Percival and Translucent Haos Altair and still got them. Both this game and Defenders of the Core are really fun! I got the Factionless Naga from the Ds game and he's definitely my "Guardian."
I remember as a child when I played this game, I finished 6 play throughs for all the elements because I felt bad after I finished the first time(Ventus was first). The infinity sign montane was my least favorite of all of them.
I'll be honest, aside from having to read instead of hearing voice acting, I'm surprised this is one of those games where both handheld and console (sometimes pc) are basically the same in most cases. I'm so used to just about all games being different from those counterparts.
Omg I played this game then I was like 5 I still have the game and play it sometimes I think it is kind of too easy my entire team is the water Attribute can't remember the name and I had so much fun ps I thought the scratch mini game was the easiest I always won it
Bro I JUST realized this is the DS version of the game I had on the Wii! It used motion controls instead of the stylus. I remember my little Serpanoid absolutely destroying one of the pro players' Tentaclear even tho my G power was so low before the minigame. I might have to give this a shot on a new file!
Bakugan really had the potential to compete toe-to-toe with Pokemon / Yu-Gi-Oh but they really failed when it came to the actual game of Bakugan. Everything surrounding Bakugan was genius, the toy looked cool, it was a unique concept of marbles opening up to become monsters, and the designs of the cards as well as the show. However, playing the actual game in real life was beyond boring, even as a child you realize that the game is just pay-to-win literally about who has the best bakugan and best cards, it's a 100% stat based game which is not at all competitive. There was no skill ceiling to learning the game, a 2 year old could beat you if they simply had better cards which is the funny thing, likely a huge blunder on that front when it came to Bakugan honestly.
42:42 ngl that was a fucking spot-on Marucho impression. Kudos. That aside, this is one of my favorite videos on RU-vid. I come back to watch it every once in a while. You're insanely funny and I like the idea of a Nuzlocke for Bakugan, that was creative. Editing this the next day to say I bought the game again after losing my original copy over a decade ago (this time I got a copy that comes with Naga) and will be doing my own Nuzlocke run. And yes, I will also be choosing the best attribute, Darkus.
"What are you gonna do. The odds are stacked against you. Back against the wall, you gotta give it your all. (Ah ah ah ah ah ah) This is the final stand. (Ah ah ah ah ah ah) The powers in your hands. Two worlds collide, on the inside. You gotta fight for what's right before it's gone gone gone. This is Bakugan." Yes that is the full lyrics to the original bakugan opening. And my favourite bakugan was Laserman. Called em Artillery and it was the reason why I was able to beat Dan's evolved Dragonoid. Just recently got to the final battle against Axe vladitor. 😅Its hell. Edit: Forgot to add that I actually introduced this game to my neighborhood friends and they enjoyed. Brings smile upon my face to see the new blood appreciate what I played as a kid
I love that I go from watching a new Hatsune Miku song by Deco*27 to this video and there's a Miku joke the second Runo is on screen, I know she's Japanese but since Bakugan was co made by a Candadian animation studio I've decided I'm gonna call her Canadian Miku as a joke from now on
I prefer this game on wii and ps3, but my ps3 one doesn't work anymore a glitch happened so can't get passed tutorial. On the wii i got the one where u can get free bakugan from Alice it was 2 but only for some attributes cant remember which or was for all but some had both and some have 1, think one was ravenoid
Yo Dual Hydranoid! I had one of those weird white ones. It was Darkus like the one in the show but I didn’t know what that because it was some weird color variant until it premiered in the show. “Hey that’s the one I got!”
What about the hidden boss battle at the park which is literally almost impossible? The one where the opponent’s AI is max level and wins at everything including scratch battles
Mate when you said you painted Ravenoid on the wall I was expecting you to say you made a shrine to Warrior but nope. "The Warrior lost a Arm" Broke me
I can just barely remember playing this as a kid. I still have no clue what happened to mine. I wanna say its in he crate of ds games i have next to my bed but im not able to check as im not at home at the moment. I also wonder what happened to that bronze warrious (or however its spelled) card that i got with it. I don't even know how the hell i even remember him at all. I might have to go digging when I get time to see if I can find both the game and that card
I played and beat both the ds, and wii version. I remember my ds version being lost by my horrendous aunt. She didn't even properly close it, and it never made it me. I believe she just stole it to this day.
Dudeeeeee Bakugan was the shit as a kid. I played the ps2 version and had at least 100 hours in it. God stuck on Marduk so much the first go around tho
