This was hands down the most informative video I've seen. As someone who is in college studying to be a teacher, guided reading and centers is a very daunting and scary topic because its so hard to understand. You did an amazing job an answered so many questions that I've had. THANK YOU!!!
During guided reading or assessment, I wear cute lady bug or bee headbands. This tell my kiddos, Dont bug me. Only problem I've ever had, was walking out of my class with them on!
Guided reading is my least favorite part of the day (during student teaching, is was my favorite!) because I just don’t have it down. I love the writing idea! So many helpful tips here. Thank you!
You give me inspiration. I'm still in school and feel like I won't know what I'm doing. Good to know that not even an actual teacher knows sometimes and just goes with the flo
love this and needed this to inspire me. this is my third year, but first year teaching reading! i have a couple questions. do your students go to AOD every day? Also, do you have a separate time for independent practice for the skill you are currently teaching in reading? Thanks so much!!
I hope I'm not the only one wishing I could go back to when I was in 3rd grade just to see what group I would fall into. I'll be 30 next month, why am I wondering this?! Lol 💜
Do you see your students who receive resource as well? I'm an RSP and a huge issue for me is to make sure my students also get what they need in the classroom !!! Love these btw :)
I’m not a teacher but love your videos. I have a question for you / teachers in general. Since you split your kids up into groups by level, does that ever get...I don’t know...uncomfortable for you or the kids? Like “the smart kids” vs the not so smart kids. (I know it’s not like that but kids are kids). How does that work for a teacher? Obviously working with level groups is the most efficient but how do you keep things nice that way?
Dear Shelley, thanks for sharing your organization on guided reading. They're helpful, really!! My name is Julia, an EFL teacher. What is the 'grab the ticket' that you mentioned? Is it a reward system to motivate the students?? Could you explain how it works?! Thank you in advance for all the wonderful videos!! Keep it up!! You are an amazing teacher!!👍😀
I know you’ve said it a million times, but I’m still confused. Why does your A group not do guided reading with you? But do they do the other centers? They are the ones who are behind the most correct? I’m so fascinated with your groups, getting so much done in such little time!!
Hi!! First year teacher here. I’d love to have access to your data sheet on your TPT. ALSO would u share the anchor charts you made for centers I’d like to see that. I LOVE the push light ask 3 thing. I’m doing that!
