I so wish you were around back when I was teaching 5th grade! I left teaching to homeschool my kids who have now graduated, but I teach writing to middle schoolers. It's a good day when you post a new video 😊❤️
Love how you go through each step of the process! It's not as if most of us couldn't figure it out, but sometimes it's just nicer to see YOUR process in order to figure out how to easily adapt for ours. Love your editing, too, by the way. :)
Same im 11 I would suggest going to the Salvation Army or good will because there’s kids books for soft cover 49 cents and hard cover 99 cents! I can’t wait to be a teacher.
I'm on the road to becoming a teacher, and I'm currently in a Literature for Children class, so I'd love to know, if you don't have kids pick books to read by level, how do you make sure they're picking books that they are able to read and comprehend? I love your videos, theyre getting me excited to be a teacher!! ❤❤
I am in the Master's program to change my career to teaching and your videos have given me so many great ideas for when I am in my own classroom! So thank you and keep doing you girl!!
Michelle you make this so easy. I just love you! I always look forward to all of your great ideas and ways to make things so much more organized and simplified. You give great directions alongside the products that you create and sell. I really feel like you are a lifesaver and not a Salesman.
Thank you! I bought this over a year ago and have been waiting for the update to make it editable in order to finish up putting my homeschool library together. We have over 1,000 books in our homeschool library (this includes a lot of resource books), so I am excited to finally put it completely together. Thanks for your hard work and awesome teaching tools.
Our goodwill is part of the DC goodwill which sucks because their books are $1 per paperback or $2 per hardback. Same as the Rappahannock Goodwill which is the system we also use. Even other thrift stores are expensive here in Northern Virginia. Even Savers is almost $2 per book (either paperback or hardback). I would like to find a cheaper source because I would like to finish up a few collections we have.
I bought your book labels last year - BEST purchase ever! I’ve been teaching for 12 years and this was the first year that I didn’t feel the need to completely redo my library! Super easy for the kids to find and return their books.
I want to become a teacher when I’m older (I just finished my second year of high school) and you and your content motivate me to follow my dreams and remind me that I’ll get where I want to be one day! Thank you so much:))💗
Omg... Do I see a 3rd laminator!!! You go girl!!!!! Thanks for posting this video so soon. I literally fell aseep while purchasing your old lables. These are even better!!! Thanks for sharing all of the info you have shared with us. We went to Goodwill yesterday and bought $96 in books!!! I homeschool 5 kids and they wanted more. Hopefully this hall lasts the whole school year. And thanks to you, I won't have to be our Librarian!!!
This was very through. I can attest to that tip about the packing tape! I used to use packing tape to "laminate" task cards before I had a laminator of my own lol
Thank you for updating the product and sharing the video! I am so excited about the ease of customization with this product. My library is about to be updated.
I have already started working on mine and my small hole punch should be here today. 🤗 The bead organizer will be a game changer for me because I was going to use zip lock bags. 😂🤷🏾♀️Thanks for sharing!!
This is such a great video! Thank you so much for showing how you categorize and organize your books! I’m going into year 4 of teaching and this is something I’ve struggled with! I have your old labels, but these are so much more customizable. Thank you sooo much for the updated ones!
First, I want to say that I love and agree 100% that you said a kid should not have to pick a book according to level. ❤ AND this system works!! I implemented a very similar system 2 years ago and haven't had to adjust it at all. An answer to prayer for sure 😂
This is super helpful! You really thought of everything when creating this label pack. Thank you for being so transparent with your viewers, I’m learning a lot of great ideas to bring to my future classroom!
Love the video and how you go about the process!! The classroom library is now more important than ever because of the changing times! I’m definitely sharing this with my teacher friends and some of them are just starting their teacher careers! Definitely pointing them towards your channel! You’ve got an amazing selection in your library (2nd and Charles & Goodwill are my choices for books). There are so many good series books you can find, the options are endless for your students!!
QUESTION: What brand/model printer do you use? I have access to 3 different printers and non of them do well printing on card stock! Great system...can’t wait to be back in my classroom so I can try it out!
What a great way to start off my Sunday morning!! Thank you so much for this video, my goal is to teach in the range of Grades 3-5 and I needed more ideas of which types of books/series to buy. I’m hoping I can thrift so many awesome finds like you have! How do you manage the flow of your library in the classroom? Do students keep books in their desks or do they have separate bins?
This is very impressive! 👏 Your video will help me a lot with organizing my classroom library! Thank you for creating such detailed content like this. 🧡
This is great !!!! I really enjoy your videos :) I have been looking for a solution to organize my classroom library this is perfect ! I really liked the way you walked through the whole process and of organizing and then showing your TpT products! Definitely keep doing videos for your TPT store !!! I will be purchasing this to revamp my classroom book bins for this next school year !
I want to thank you for sharing everything! I’ve followed your channel ever since it started because I taught 2nd grade and was then moved to 4th grade as well! I’ve bought almost all of your TPT resources but have one tiny ask...can you please put an alternative option to the solid black lines on all of your resources? It uses a lot of the black ink when printing. I know it may be your aesthetic, I like it too...it just uses so much of my ink 😟 Thanks for sharing what you do! 🔆✨💖
Just so you know, that Ook and Gluk book is Dav Pilkey. It says it was written by the creators of Captain Underpants because in that story, it is Harold and George who created Captain Underpants. So it’s supposed to be like their own book (like Castle isn’t a real author, but you can find books written by “Richard Castle”. Same with Murder She Wrote). It’s just supposed to be the Captain Underpants characters who “wrote” Ook and Gluk.
You mentioned that your state or district has a list of read aloud books that you use for 4th grade. Could you send me a link to that list or the website where I could view that? I teach 3rd & 4th. Thanks!
These are such great tips! I am curious as you said you do not believe students should choose books based on level. How do you suggest students choose books and how can teachers facilitate students choosing books they are interested in and capable of managing the level? Thanks so much 🌟
Love your videos! I’ve been thinking about starting my very own RU-vid channel. Tips? What kind of equipment do you use? How do you edit your videos? Maybe this could be the topic for your next video... that would be amazing!
Love your tips. How about when a book series or author doesn’t have enough books to fill one bin? Do you add a totally different author or category or series and just use 2 different labels? Thanks.
Do you inventory the books you have in your library? Was the creation of this library to replace one you already had from previous years or just adding to your current one? More specifically howd did you know if you would have enough shelf space?
If I taught elementary school, this is how I would probably set up my library. Love it! What printer do you have? I know you have the HP instant ink link in the description box but I was looking into trying to invest in a new HP printer that has insta ink that will actually print on cardstock since mine stopped.
Hey I love your classroom library labels and have been using them since you put the original product on tpt! Is there anyway you could have an option for your new labels to have the black background for the circle labels so I can match the rest of my books that I've already labeled with your original product. Thanks so much! Love your products and videos! :)
Can I have a video request. If you go back to class and you happen to rearrange your class again, could you do a video on how to keep students safe because of this pandemic students in my area are instructed differently. There may be a chance there will be less students in the room than normal.
Thanks for sharing all that you share! Can you please guide me to a place that I can get Google Slides set up for a smart class, mobile dimensions, for phonics games and phonics instruction. If not, could you please make a video showing us how? Thanks so much!
Idk what state your in it I'm in oak lawn witch is a suburb of Chicago and I was wondering if you had a idea on how school will be I'm going into 8th grade and Illinois is going back up again so I was just wondering
I am so for everything you said, I just have one question. You mentioned removing the bin labels but what about if you wish to change the labels on the book itself, pulling the tape off would ruin the label. Meaning if it was a book you didn't think you'd want a series of but then realised your students loved that series but you had two books labelled in a "general" bin but then you wanted to make a whole bin for that series instead.
@22:19 That day you learned that you could print several nonconsecutive pages in a file by placing a comma between page numbers .... #missedthatdayinclass
Ugh, I just don't have the extra $15 to spend on this. As a preschool teacher, I make less than $20,000 a year, despite being certified pk-4. Hopefully in a few weeks l'll be able to snag them. Right now, I'm just trying to keep food on the table for me and the kiddos. Such a great resource, and I hope everyone who sees this adjusts their libraries somehow with the information.
