Randomly came across your vids, and I’m so glad I’m late here and that you’ve already had your transplant! But I really wanted to praise the point you made about keeping the boxes out of your bedroom and keeping only what you need limited to that small area (the two organizers). I’m not on PD, but I am on IV therapy at home for other issues. And keeping the medical stuff out of plain sight is so important for making sure home is still home, not a hospital away from the hospital. My boxes and supplies are kept in a storage room, and only the things I need throughout the day are in my room, and in a nice-looking bin so that they aren’t medical supplies in my face. When a medical condition requires so much of your energy each day, it’s even more important to eliminate it from your line of sight whenever possible. Great tips in this vid, and I’m glad those days are in the past now!
Hi Ms Wendy, I'm watching your videos because of my husband. Thank you for sharing your videos. I hope you should give more advices for us that we are just starting PD at home. Thank you so much 😊
Thank you it means a lot. Best of luck to your husband. Time has not been on my side to record more videos. I have tons of content I want to share with you guys. Feel free to ask questions here in the comments. I’ll try to do my best to answer them. 😊
Thank you for sharing and your message of organizing looks really good. I am not yet on PD still on hemo and want to travel to Asia again. I'm assuming if I am on PD it should be easy to find supplies most anywhere but I haven't checked into that. Any ideas in that regard considering Thailand and Vietnam. Never give up!🙏🙏
Thanks for the video Wendy! My dad will start PD pretty soon and it’s so good to see how you organized your space. Do you still have the purchase links of the two organizers you used? Thanks in advance!
I've found your videos very helpful! I'm getting my PD catheter on Monday and starting dialysis beginning of February. After watching some videos very nervous and scared about it all. I'm glad you were able to get a transplant. Hopefully I'll find a donor soon. I was wondering if you ever did anything with the caps you saved? I thought that was a great idea! Hope you're doing well!
Hi Casey, It makes me happy to know my videos can be helpful to others. Thank you for letting me know. Best of luck on your upcoming surgery. I hope everything goes well with the catheter, recovery and the start of dialysis. I am glad you will have time to let your catheter heal before dialysis. I needed to start dialysis asap that they got me starting 3 days after surgery. Thankfully everything went good. 👍🏻 About the caps.. You know, I have an idea for them I just haven’t stared yet.. I am glad you reminded me. Take care, I’ll love to hear how everything goes. I’ll be thinking of you 💚
Thank you for this video. My mom is starting PD in the next couple of weeks. We have been in training. Question where did you lay your bags when connecting to them? My mom is much older just trying to figure everything out before she has to hook up at home.
Hey there! You are so very welcome. I used two bags every night. One when on top of the machine of course and the other one on the first shelf under the cycler. For a few months sat the extra bag on my night stand. It just needs to be a place close to the cycler so it’s easy to reach while setting up for the treatment. I hope this helps, best of luck to mom 💚
I don’t remember getting monthly bills. I know I got a bill after a few months after being on dialysis that included supplies and clinic time and at that point it was at $74000 🫠
@@sunnynsydney4705 I had insurance but it didn’t covered much. I got some help with the bills trough Dvida. And yes, I totally agree, the bills were crazy high.
