I live in PAPER hell and am constant looking for recipes. Organizing the mess is so cumbersome especially since we were in limbo for 8 months living in our cottage while we searched for a specific type of home to accommodate my balance issues due to my TBI. Well, here we are in a lovely home and boxes everywhere along with making everything from scratch due to aversion to processed foods. You, my dear, have one again inspired me to dive into my self created mess and end all the searches. Thank you!
I have yet to pull the trigger on an air fryer! But I like the idea of having an instant pot section. I have my main meals separated into vegetarian, meat based meals, curries/soups.
New to your channel. Been binge watching. I started this, too. I'm clearing out the clutter and going more minimalist. I take an hour or more in the evening and go through my cookbooks. If there are a lot of recipes in the book I use, I keep it. If there are only a couple, I copy them down and it goes to the donation pile. Oh. I'm a vintage kitchen gadget freak. Love yours that are hanging in the background. I've always believed that if it has a use buy it if not walk away.
Yes that is what I am starting to do as well. There are a few cookbooks that I need to go through, photocopy the odd thing and then sell or donate them. You've inspired me to do that next phase of my purging!
Great timing. I have been trying to motivate myself to do this. I have a massive binder filled with recipes I do not make and probably don't really care about any more. I also have separate project binders (like kids use in school, used to cost about ten cents, don't know what they are now) for the various things I am interested in. They are colour coded, so I just grab the one I need, like breads and rolls, or the sausages and preserved meats I make, preserves and pickles, xmas favourites, asian favourites. But they are also loaded with unnecessary recipes. There only 2 of us, and we are getting older, so we aren't even eating as much, and usually it's meals I have already canned. It is time to get ruthless!
Ruthless was exactly the energy I went in with. So many of the recipes were tied to this "idea" of what kind of homemaker/homesteader I "should" be. So it was cathartic for a lot of reasons! Turned out to be a deeply healing exercise as well.
@@SpiraeaHerbs “Ruthless” is the word. I inherited so much stuff that belonged to my parents eg. photos, documents, household items etc, as well as my own. I’ve been drowning in it so… If it no longer serves me, it’s gone… either, to a family member, an op shop, the dump or into the fire. Great, idea btw 😁🙏🏼
I have some on my phone in Genius scan. But I have 2 paper binders, a small one with recipes from my bridal shower still in it (45 yr old) but in a replacement binder, I wore the other out and I have a larger binder with sheet protectors. My essential oil recipes in a small book. Made my grandson a recipe book and he actually pulled it out the other day to make some brownies. Thinking of making one for my other grandson who is at university.
This is what I use! I do recommend making the turmeric paste as it does create a nicer texture for the end product. spiraeaherbs.ca/golden-goddess-milk-recipe-terrific-turmeric/
