I love that your brainstorming notebook is “messy”. It genuinely reflects the flow of the thinking process (which is messy and not always linear) and allows you to see how thoughts or ideas emerge and develop. We should embrace messy notebooks-☺️ Thanks for all you do to produce such helpful content!
I did something different this year to cut on cost. I found an 18mth undated planner for $2 at Dollar General. I love using this because I can map things out while looking at a calendar all in one place. I use post it's to create my list when I'm ready to transfer what to do when.
I need to decide which notebook will be my brainstorming one 😅. Lists are also my favourite. Want to try mind mapping. Thank you for the clear, practical tips, Alaina!
My favorite way is definitely the long to-do list. I love being able to check things off when completed. I use to-do (to-done) lists at work too! I have gone through so many legal pads. I take a lot of notes too. I have created a Reading Notebook and it has helped me to read more books. Thanks for always sharing your organizing and planning tips.
Great video! I definitely love lists, but a lot of times use sticky notes so I really like including this into the one notebook. I want to incorporate mind-mapping, this could be really helpful for me. Could you please do a short video on some of the ways mind-mapping works and has been successful for you? 🙂🙏🏽🥰
Thank you for this great video Alaina! I'm always going back and forth between using a hardbound journal or notes pages in my Happy Planner. I do love a good journal though and might have to switch back to it.
thank you for sharing! i need to start a brain dump notebook - i’ve got lists, post it’s, and voice memos all over the place 😅 some consolidation would make things much easier to refer back to. i think mind-mapping will be a nice integration as well! do you index this notebook at all, or just flip through to find what you’re looking for?
I love these ideas! This is really helpful for me because I can get a better handle on the info I have in my notebook (which I started because of one of your earlier videos). 😉
I've just picked up a B6 notebook to act as my brain dump notebook (it arrived today). I love this idea and am hoping it will help keep things in order and processed at relevant points. Currently I "dump and go" in my planner and that's not working out at all...
I just ordered an Erin Condren goal setting planner and an annual planner. Can you make some suggestions as to how to use these methods with those planners?
Instead of a voice memo, I will ask Siri to write a note for me. The advantage in that is that I not only verbalize it but I will save time in transcribing it!
For stuff like this I really love notion or ONENote or GoodNotes if you have an iPad! So much easier to erase, delete, delegate etc my brain will keep going down a 100 mph rabbit hole when I tried this style do you do any digital? Google keep is my daily/monthly
This was an excellwnt video, thank you so much! A great channel to check is Mindmapguy on youtube - he made mindmap book summaries on over a 100 books on productivity - an excellent source that got me introduced to mindmaps. your last video was also great as it really highlighted my problems with notes - i make notes all the time and then never look back at them because i forget that they are they - so my main goal now is to crossreference into my normal planner every time i have taken notes somewhere to not forget to look at them. Love you alaina♥️
