Bro it's ODIABIKER from odisha , india. And i have seen your journey from jimny to this toyota . And you are awesome as your videos ❤️. Hope we will meet one day and we will have big adventure ride together for sure .
Followed the series from beginning till end since Friday 😂😂 love the quality and education but most importantly the inspiration 🙌🏾🙏🏾. But personally you left one thing Adrian😭, the build costs. From the vehicle to the gear please 🥺🙏🏾
Just found your channel. Very entertaining and educational. One question that comes up on Australia build outs alot is how the keep their load weight down under max gross vehicle weight. Do you see similar issues over in Africa with the overlander niche? I'll check through your past videos to see Enjoyed the video on the Jimney.
Hey mate! So people tend to ignore the GVM here, and just load it up to what the vehicle feels like mostly. I actually have the vehicle Ona diet after the Namibia trip. Even though it handled great and we had everything we needed, I found some limitations in my suspension with all the kit on there. And the spare wheel carrier really influenced the handling of the vehicle in a negative way; even though it was handy and looked so cool 😂
Really like the setup and great product partners that you get to work with. How was the 2.4 vs the 2.8 in terms of fuel economy and generally overall? It seems like if not towing the 2.4 is all you would ever need. In comparison to your Jimny you must be loving the extra space. Auto for the win!
Thanks Ryan! The 2.4 handles itself very well! What we found out on the trip was that my turbo was pretty much stuffed; so once we came back from the trip I rebuilt the turbo to a hybrid turbo and got it remapped; and it has dramatically closed the gap with the 2.8! That new 2.8 is something else though, its still more fuel efficient than my 2.4 with all the kit on and has does still have more power. BUT the price difference, means that the 2.4 is very very well worth it!
Another great video Adrian, I was wondering if you were ok. Hadn't seen you on in about 3 or 4 weeks. The audio is a little wonky though, kind of echoes.
Yeah the audio was crap! Haha I wasn’t going to post this because the camera broke and I didn’t realise it until it was way too late. So I figured the information in this case was more important than the audio quality
Always trips me out the amount of screens a lot of you overland guys feel you need. Going out to see the nature yet you have 6 screens staring at you. I live and holiday in remote Western Australia and have never required more then a paper map and a iPhone, along with epirb for emergency. Also seems that for such a organised set up you need to remove a ton of gear to camp. Hilux is looking great though. But does look overloaded and for sure would be with 3 adults in there.
hahaha I am a garmin ambassador so I was testing out an extra gps; my normal setup is just my phone and my garmin overlander. The stuff that we remove from the vehicle is stuff that is useful in camp, so I dont mind taking them out or putting them back, you would need to move them to access them anyways, so you just move it once and put it somewhere accessible in the campsite. My setup when its just me traveling on my own is less, although it looked quite full; its also actually mostly quite soft stuff like clothing bags etc.
Nice utilisation of the limited space you have. So is there any gear (ie. Exclude spare parts etc) that you brought that you ended up not using, or will not bring in the future?
That’s a great question. We used pretty much everything. Obviously I didn’t use my spare tent I brought with. Otherwise we used pretty much everything. The rest of the stuff was emergency or just in case. You will see the next trip I do I’ve made some big changes to the vehicle to reduce and balance out the weight abit; so it’ll be interesting to see what I decide to also leave out 👌🏻I’ve been in a kick to improve fuel economy and vehicle handling
Definitely on the cards for this year; I have changed a lot after this trip to reduce weight on the vehicle and streamline the setup even more. So lithium is one of those moves. I might just go 1000W Jackery and be done with it all :P

Nice rig. Quick question: how National luna DC-DC is separated from main battery after engine is stopped? I saw you previous videos where you say it's a 1 cable just plug in and that's all. But there should be some automatic switch disconnecting main from Luna dc25 when engine is not running.
Is the ignition sense switch used for this behaviour or it's from dc-dc electronics only? Sorry to asking these questions, but can't find more info about NL products and I really want to buy the same box, but no detailed info regarding working scenarios.
@@nbarachkov The ignition sensor is just for some vehicle which use a smart alternator, that basically use variable output that it keeps charging even when the alternator is doing weird things.
