"This is America" This is also an American success story. " This bad thing that happened turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me" is how winners think. Thank you for sharing story.
I’m glad someone finally told a story like this, because it’s not just about achieving and dream as a pro fisherman it goes for every dream. Much love and much respect for you.
Thank you for the message of "do extra" don't be jealous of those who have more, but be happy for them. Work hard and you'll both be flipping the same jig.
THANKYOU!!! Man... I really appreciate you opening up, to help me understand what I am up against "nope" -rather- what Im work'n with. Normally I'm not much for leaving comments . but... You have definitely inspired me. and ill think of your story when I feel discouraged. So... right on man, thanks for look'n out for the little guy... who's try'n to go big🎣👍
I know you’re talking about your journey in professional fishing, but the lessons you outlined are applicable to just about every facet of life. Love the message and your content… thanks for sharing!
Great video, Brian. I'm local and have met and spoke with you a few times. We have common friends around here in our fishing community. I knew about your landscaping business however, I didn't realize that you sold out of it! That's awesome man! You're a good dude and I e enjoyed watching you continue to fish hard and was great to see you win! I hope you keep getting blessed and you go as far and as long as you want. I'll continue to watch your videos and root for you! Another Win loading...
Absolutely right on the "side jobs" and the "extra". Man those side hustles have given me so many opportunities to live out my dreams. Last year I went on my dream hunt in Alaska on a DIY Moose hunt... all funded by that "extra". Just bought my first bass boat with the "extra" also.
This is the second video I have seen of yours, first one being the "taking strangers fishing" on Facebook. So I looked you up here and....WOW! What a SOLID example of a man WORKING for his dreams!! I have worked my whole life to pay for my play time and toys. A lot of people out there don't understand that if you want something, YOU have to work your butt off to get it! Your story is a perfect example that!! I don't know if I ever worked under 40 hours a week before I turned 40!! Hobbies are expensive and if you want to play with the big boys you have to work with them too!!! Thank you for sharing!! You have another subscriber.
thank you for the reality check. Many people don't understand that you can't buy passion for the sport. I remember watching you win on seminole Lake. You were very emotional during the weigh ins. It brought emotions to my self too because I can understand those emotion that were surfacing. I am fairly new to Bass Tournaments. I fish mainly kayak tournament. I've been fishing my whole life for stripers and crappie. It has only been the past 5 years that I have dived in the tournaments. I won my first tournament and it was our State Championship two years in. I like how you mentioned that you can get a feel for the body of water. I call it gut feeling. On that day of he championship, it felt it was my tournament to loose and not the usually tournament to win feeling. It wasn't even my best day on that lake but i just knew mid day that i had won. Great content man, keep it coming. i watch most of your video.
Thanks for sharing this valuable information. I hope people who want this lifestyle watch this video and understand the work they need to put in to make it a reality. 👍🏾
You are a living example of the AMERICAN DREAM. Love your story and appreciate you telling it!! Love your positive energy and appreciate your tips on this channel. Tight lines bro!!
The part of the video that you talk about privilege fishing is spot on everything I do in live is provided for my family the best I can and if I can hand then there education and a trust heck ya I would but I work for everything they have. I also haft to fit my dreams in there so I put in any and all extra work for those goals. Thank you Brian for being Brian..
Thank you for sharing! More people need to hear things like this! They don't hire you as CEO then demote you down the line if you can't get the job done. You start at the bottom and work your way up, doesn't matter if it's business or sports. You have to put in the work to get what you want, or prove to someone else you are worth taking a risk on. I just had a conversation like this with some boys I coach. Everyone wants to come out of school and immediately get the job at the top and blame everyone else if they can't get what they want right now! They see people on all these apps showing off the spoils of hard work, they don't see the constant grind, hard work, endurance, risks, and stress that it took to get those things.
Brian, you keep it real. This is what young people don't understand. You set a goal and bust your ass to achieve your goal. My respect for you is massive!
Gotta love those dads for telling it to you straight! My pops was leaving for work one day and told me to have a job by the time he got home or he was kicking me out. I was applying at places like "Can I interview today?"
Good stuff happens to hard working people like you B Lat. Not because it magically happens but because you work so hard that doors open and new opportunities come to those who have the drive. Thanks for the story and the inspiration.
I feel you b lat. Fishing is just a hobby for me and I think that’s how it’ll always be for at least a long time. School full time, Sumer intern, part time landscaping, part time live audio. Do as much as you can to get where you want to be.
Great story Brian! I would of never known how hard you work to make your dream come true. What an inspiring story. You may want to consider writing a book some day.
Love this !! This is now my favorite channel ! You the man ! Who would have thought that you actually have to work hard to achieve your dreams ! To be in the one percent you have to do what 99 percent of the others won’t do ! Preach it !!
This why I follow you. You keep it 100 percent real with people. You are such an inspiration, thank you for sharing this. These type of conversation help people stay grounded in the real world an what it takes to get to accomplish your dreams!!! Thank you!!
Great video B.lat I love the fact that you made sure everyone knows without work there is no reward I’m chasing the dream while working the 9-5 tight lines …. B lat
Preach it brother. I’m steady building steady working towards the dream. More guys need to tell there story. Edwin Evers has started interviewing MLF guy on his channel
Dude, my girlfriend and I love your videos. You keep it one hundred, you're down to earth and honest. We appreciate that. I can't imagine it's all easy and know you're not gonna make a single dime being an inspiration to a couple folks in Ohio, but I'm sure we're not the only ones. So, keep up the good work and we'll be looking for your next videos.
I have watched your videos for a while and although I have learned a lot about fishing from your other videos, this is my favorite. You are very articulate and open with your feelings, which is something you don't see in other youtubers. I am looking forward to your TV show!
What an awesome story teller. I just sat here and watched an entire 30 minute video. I NEVER do that. Great story. I can’t wait for the show in 2022 👊🤨🎣
Couldn’t agree more about the extra and working for it! Have bought almost all of my fishing gear and livescope with the money from my side jobs, with enough cash saved up for a trolling motor!! And people comment and say “must be nice” but what they don’t see is all the extra work and long days that go into it!
Dont remember who said it, but, You dont always get what you want, but you always get what you deserve. I've always told my kids that effort and attitude will be rewarded with results. Great story!
Mega Respec B Lat! Great life's story. I was at the Douglas weigh in when you got the third. It's awfully hard to beat Ott on Douglas. I've been a fan since!
Hi Brian i would just like to say that i have been really enjoying you channel and keep up bring out these great videos. i live in Australia and would love to come over a catch some Bass one day. Tight lines and big bass for your next comp.
B.Lat, dont have Facebook or any other social media other than RU-vid, but I've been following you for at least 3 or so years. I even drove from Texas to attend your "Straight up Fishing" school. I'm a little older than you and I just started getting in to the fishing game. You are a true inspiration. It's such a joy to see and hear where you started from to see where you are now. Not to be weird, but I feel like a proud brother...lol. Keep them dreams alive my dude!
I absolutely loved every second of this video! Appreciate you sharing a portion of your story w/ us! Wishing you and your family nothing but the best and more..may your gift continue making room for you my brother (proverbs 18:16) 👊🏾
You’re the man dude. I live in upstate sc, 5 min from hartwell.. if you ever have the free time I’d love to learn from you even for 1 hour.. I loved fishing as a teen but life happened, 4 kids and 10 years later I’m falling in love with it again. I just moved up here and haven’t figured the lake out yet. Amazing story Brian, enjoyed listening.
I been thinking of join some tournaments around my area. I don’t have a bass boat just a little Jon boat right now. Love the video thanks for ur story. Keep up the great work and God bless you
Can Sooo relate to the attitude you face after busting your A__ for years, and it finally pays off, and the jealousy comes out in some others....did that while teaching college, built real estate on the side, pushed way beyond what i thought I was capable of....now we are smiling like you!! Going to focus on fishing more this summer with my family. So proud of you! Your hats are sold out!!
Absolutely awesome lesson for any goal or desire. Everytime I spoke about my aspirations growing up my aunt used to ask me what are you willing to sacrifice to get there. Listening to this definitely brought back thise memories.
Man I’m going for it! Thank you man for sharing all this, it last inspiring. I’m about on the same path as you were on and this gives me confidence that it can be done
Love the positive attitude and common sense to keep the "eye on the prize". The focus on being true to yourself and knowing what is your goals are. Behind every successful man is a woman who fully supports you in good and tough times!
Thank you for this video. I have so much resect for you and your work ethic. I think you are the American dream and a wonderful ambassador for both your sport and just for how to live.
Love it!!! Put in the extra work!! Straight facts man!! Just turned 45 yrs old and I’m still striving everyday to make fishing dream a reality! Great stuff Brian!!
I work on Lanier doing gel coat repair and after hours my boss lets me use the shop to detail boats at night for extra money. I’m just glad you are solidifying that.
I actually got a 15 year plan set to become a pro lol funny you said that man. It's my dream and passion I'll never quit trying garrantee yh. Your awesome bro I half to say since I started watching you your my favorite out there. Thanks for your tips and keep doing what you do bro 👍
Love your honestly, And love your energy on the water. Everything thing you have said in this is so true. Glad Hard work has started paying off for you. keep up the good work.
IT'S WEIRD SEEING HOW MUCH WE'RE ALIKE SOMETIMES. I ALSO PLAYED BASS IN CHURCH. BASS PLAYERS HAVE OUR OWN WAY OF LIVING. WE'RE VERY LAID BACK BUT WE KNOW HOW TO PROPERLY COMMUNICATE. YOU'RE ONLY A FEW YEARS OLDER THAN I AM BUT I REALLY LOOK UP TO YOU BRO!
You are an inspiration to all Brian. To be honest. I dint need to hear this story to know how hard you worked. You can see it in your personality man. The way you take are of your kids and house and your stuff and you work ethic says it all man. HUGE HUGE FAN BRIAN!!!!!!!!
This the best fishing video I have watched on RU-vid this month hands down. Stories like this get me so fired up! Anything is possible and if you want it bad enough, you’ll find a way. Glad to have learned more about your history man, absolutely love it and all the content you continue to put out for us!
Great advice for america. Sounds almost just like my Story of becoming a successful business owner. Extra work. Every weekend and every weekday after 5:00. This Truly is the greatest country in the World. But you have got to put the work in. Love your Story brother. I'll be praying(and pulling) for ya.
B LAT! You’ve inspired me brother. I’m a salt water fisherman through and through but watching your videos have had me pond/lake hopping over the past year and a half netting close to 150 bass. Love it. Keep on trucking your first FLW RU-vid video was so inspiring.
You always tend to share great advice that can apply to many different life situations, not just fishing. Although fishing helps relieve the stresses of those life situations. Keep on keeping on bro. Tight lines.
You helped me break into my MLF career as a co-angler.. Was already a fan before but when I met you at the very last Forrest Wood Cup you inspired me and gave me the "sauce" on how I could do it.. Now I'm a 2nd year co-angler on the BFL Arkie Division and I love it.. Thanks for everything
You are a inspiration. Seriously. Watching you rise through the ranks, and your never give up attitude has been amazing. I wish you nothing but continued success.
If you are thinking about tuning out half way through this incredible video, do yourself a favor and at least watch the last 5 minutes. You have 5 minutes! Just watch! This video makes me proud to be an American sparsely surrounded by other hard working dedicated American like you Brian! Whether it’s affording entry fees and gas money or the ring your girlfriend has her heart set on, there is always a way to get what you desire in this country. Hell if you want to eat steak instead of spam, drag a lawn mower around the neighborhood and knock on doors. If you want it bad enough and are willing to put in the EXTRA, you’ll succeed.
