In this tutorial, I show you How I Paint Stormcast: Anvils of Heldenhammer for Age of Sigmar. I love these folks' paint scheme and would happily have an entire army looking like this.
The Anvils of the Heldenhammer are the dark and brooding heroes of an old era, reforged as the Broken World span sinister beneath a fell aspect. They have come to embrace the death they once feared and fight like the spectral knights from some ominous legend and they seek to free the realm of death from the tyranny of Nagash.

I find it ironic that this Army looks incredible with almost every single colour scheme EXCEPT the one that is recommended on the box art.

Very true indeed. Unfortunately the box art is very much the Ultramarine poster boy look GW go for. There are so many more awesome Stormhosts much like Space Marine chapters. Thanks for the comment. 😁

The black armor looks amazing despite the unbelievably simple method ! Do you think the Dark Reaper/Fenrisian brings out more than the classic Eshin Grey/Dawnstone highlight?

Thanks so much! It really depends on what type of black you are going for, grey highlights are a neutral tone, whereas blue is a cooler tone and browns are a warmer tone.

Fantastic first video. Love the subtle humor. Camera framing/focus and explanations were great. Only thing I would suggest (per your Tweet) would be adding a quick preview of the final piece at the start. For me I am sometimes looking for a particular look when browsing tutorials, so being able to see it without moving to the end would be great. Subscribed, cannot wait to see more.

Thanks so much. Yeah, I like to paint the different colours schemes than the GW posters. I have also done a video on the Celestial Vindicators using contrast paints. Give it a go!

Hi, Thanks for the comment! Yeah, you could totally use Black, just bear in mind that colours like cream and white, will take a few more coats over black and the red will a little darker.

Nice work man and love the colours. I'll be following this. Would be awesome if you listed all the paints you use in your videos in the info section :) Also what brushes do you use if you don't mind me asking.?

Thanks so much for the comment. My other videos have a paint list at the beginning of them, so probably would be a good idea to put a list in the description on this video. Will get that sorted asap. Brush wise I only really use two, a medium base brush from citadel and a size 00 from Windsor and newton. Could just use an artificer layer brush from citadel.

Sorry for the delay. Paint list below. Armour - Abaddon Black, Eshin Grey and Fenrisian Grey for highlights. Red - Mephiston Red, Nuln oil, Evil Sunz Scarlet and Fire Dragon Bright. Cream - Zandri Dust, Agrax Earthshade, Ushabti Bone and screaming skull. Leather - Dryad Bark, Gorthor Brown and Baneblade Brown highlights. Gold - Retributor Armour, Reikland Fleshshade, Liberator Gold and Stormhost Silver highlights. Silver - Leadbelcher, Drakenhoff Nightshade, Stormhost Silver highlight. Crystal thing - Caledor Sky, Drakenhoff Nightshade, Calgar Blue, Temple Guard Blue, Baharroth Blue and White Scar.

Thanks for the comment, Aaron. I totally agree with you, that's why in my newer videos I do just that. However that doesn't help for this particular video. So what I will do is write a list of colours and reply to you with them as soon as I can. 😁
