Painting it was completely the right thing to do. Lovely seeing you both doing the painting together and as always loved the playful fun moments you had. The van is so spacious and much better for the extra light that painting has achieved. Lovely little table, are you going to paint the chairs to match it. The van looks fabulous and you two suit it perfectly. I can't keep up but is that yet another Porta Potti. Take care you two. Graham ❤
Haha cheers Graham! Glad we finally got around to painting it and so happy with the result! Yes believe it or not, didn't want to bore everyone with the details but we built the seating area based around a Porta Potti dad gave me and then found out it kept getting jammed when opening/closing it. So had to find a replacement the same size!
It is so refreshing to watch you guys.. aside from Charlies gap filling issue .. nothing negative, all smiles.. a welcome break from the ugly world, love you..
Hi Lauren and Charlie,so nice to see you Lauren been a while, got to say the camper van is look good now you have painted it well done to both of you ,,bet you are excited now to try it out ,take care keep safe,John 🌹🌹🥂🥂💤💤🥵
Wow! What a difference some paint makes. The interior looks bigger. Like that you kept the roof in natural wood for some contrast. Well done. Stay safe and healthy! Cheers from South Carolina!
This van has been built with pieces of this and piles of that but it looks just as good as the ones people have put £80K into building one up. Between your eyes for details, your luck going through the piles and your dad, that is one fantastic job! Does the engine run on your narrowboat? Between the van and maybe the narrowboat, there are a lot of places that you can take us to! The Royal Tattoo has probably already done, back in August. If they didn't cancel. But there is a lot more happening! And you can take the van all over Europe. You could also spend a year taking the narrowboat down all of the French Canals. And the van, as a matter of fact! Don't mind me. We enjoy watching you paint!
Ah thanks a lot Rebecca that's so lovely to hear! Funny you should say that, we had a guy come to look at it the other day but he confirmed it has a huge oil leak (which we kind of already knew) so rather than fix it it seems cheaper to replace it. Currently on the hunt for a second hand engine! But agreed, the aim by the end of this year is to have a fully running campervan and narrowboat to keep us busy whilst home in the UK!
@@CharliePauly - I hit a dislike when trying to read all of your comment and I think I undid it. If it is still there, I apologize. For the RU-vid algorithm, a dislike is in your favor (for whatever that's worth) but know that I didn't dislike anything about anything. I don't know what an engine costs in the UK but I have replaced quite a few in my 50 years of driving. With cars costing what they do, I don't know why people don't do that more often. You want to care for your car so it doesn't but I have had quick oil change companies neglect to put the screw on the oil pan securely as I am leaving for a long trip and damage an engine, so I simply replace it. £500-1000 is a lot cheaper than £35000! A diesel narrowboat engine is a different pot of fish altogether but one I could have easily found even where you are thanks to dad and brother, but they are gone. I can give you some leads on who to call (types of companies, not specific people) if you need. Start with narrowboat builders and ask where they get their engines and if someone in the company works on them. When a smart diesel mechanic replaces an engine, he rebuilds the old one and has it ready or sells it. A rebuilt engine will (usually) be cheaper, but that depends on so many factors. You might be able to make a deal on an engine that is a serious upgrade for your narrowboat! And that would be grand! Good luck!!
Some suggestions for some outdoor fun games to be packed into the back of the camper, for when you're on your travels. A Boules/Bowls set, a Badminton set, a Mini golf set, Swingball and of course a frisbee. I bet you're having fun with the finishing touches. Take care both of you Graham ❤ps So glad to see by the comments that So many people are glad you painted the van and how impressed we are with the results.
Cheers Graham! You read our mind sometimes I swear. Lauren just said yesterday about getting a frisbee haha! Yep good to see the positive response on the paint, not that it matters as we love it either way!
We cut the carpet to size I think meant the mighty dad was deployed again and all the finishing jobs 😅. Charlie is dad okay as you are doing some work 😉. Seriously a great job you two 🤗😊
Okay Charlie so you had to call on the painting Princess for help! Have you laid off your dad and kept him on stand-by? It's been a brilliant series and we're all looking forward to your first road trip. Stay safe.
Haha yep it's been a pretty good job over looking the employees! Jokes aside, so happy with the result and yes should be heading out for a trip first week of October!
Hey Charlie looks real good if you'd left it natural and not protected the wood would overtime oxidise and darken considerably. Lauren you rock girl I'm sure if you smiled at the paint it would have covered on its own . Great job guys ...Luvz ya both
Just been reading through the comments as I love to do. Tough luck about the boat engine. Hope you find a good second hand one that's suitable. Don't worry I haven't got an obsession with Porta Potties but your collection reminds me of a sketch from when I was a lad. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-j2b-wTJ8x3E.html 😁 Take care guys.
