Post Production Daniel here. Some other things that I forgot to mention! 1) Make sure you are doing practice questions and studying these rationales everyday. In the beginning I started with 60 questions per day. That was later worked up to 120 once I got my rhythm going! 2) I studied on average about 40 hours a week, this increased by a bit in the latter half of the term 3) Get enough sleep each day! The last thing you want is to get burnt out before this test! If you passed the ATI Comp Predictor, leave some tips of your own down below! 😁

@@thescrubslifeHello I'm studying the dynamics quizzes. Will there be the same questions on the ATI comprehensive exam?
@aknaz47
@aknaz47 4 месяца назад
To successfully graduate from nursing school, the first step is to be honest with yourself. What I mean by this is that you should begin by taking a practice nclex test using any updated resources such as ATI, Uworld, best grade, or any other options available. After completing the exam, analyze the breakdown of your performance in areas where you struggled and scored below 50%. For those particular concepts, engage in dynamic quizzes on a challenging level. Personally, I encountered difficulties in mental health and spirituality, so I focused on dynamic quizzes that tested these concepts on a difficult level. During my predictor exam, I achieved a score of 80.4 and mastered all the concepts even without utilizing the pink book. Since my school used ATI, most of my preparation involved dynamic quizzes and adaptive tests offered by ATI. It is important to learn effective test-taking skills. It is not possible to answer all questions correctly in adaptive tests as the difficulty level keeps increasing once you respond accurately. The whole point of the test is to analyze what difficulty level you’re at I believe you need to be a moderate level above 50 percentile

Very well said! It sometimes may be hard to figure out where to exactly start when prepping for exit exam or the nclex, but it is always important to prioritize the weaker areas first! Also, learning effective test-taking skills from the very beginning will only help yield a high return come test time. It can be easy sometimes to forget to practice this skill, but it is so important! It has the potential to take anyone far when coupled with the correct study strategies

Hi Daniel , First of all thank you for taking the time to make this video & answer everyone’s comments 😊 My question to you is , did you do the comprehensive PRACTICE A & B ? Did that help you
@thescrubslife
@thescrubslife 4 месяца назад
Hi there! I did both practice A and B. In my opinion, they are great measuring sticks to see where you are from a comprehensive standpoint. Based on your scores on each one, do a deep dive into the areas that were weak and start your review from there. A recommended next step would be to backtrack these topics to the pink book and/or previous tests you had in the past and continue your review from there. Retake the practice A and B after a few weeks, but not too close to the comprehensive predictor, and see how you do! I hope this helps!

You made it! Congratulations! Couple of questions: How many days would you say you were in school physically each term and in nursing core? were you required to find your own preceptor when you went to core? Did they have clinical sites for you or did you have to find those ?
@thescrubslife
@thescrubslife 11 месяцев назад
Thank you!! 1) Just a short disclaimer, most of my time spent in this program was during the height of the pandemic, so what it is right now will most likely vary with what I experienced. For me, I fully online for pre-core. During core, I was there once a week for fundamentals lab. Every term after that up until advanced med surg was fully online, but I would have clinicals once a week and occasionally have to show up to simulation lab. 2) In core, they will assign you a clinical for every term except the final one. You will most likely be paired with a nurse during that clinical each week. May or may not be the same one each time. In the final term, you have the opportunity to find your own preceptor, but if you dont, they will assign you a clinical just like all the other terms before it. 3) Yes, they had clinical sites based all around the Los Angeles area. You won't have to find for them yourself. They will do their best to have sites available each term. I hope this helps!

Hi Daniel! Congrats! I passed my ATI exit exam at WCU on the 18th! I also just completed the ATI greenlight today. Which program did you use for NCLEX prep? Did you invest in UWORLD or Archer or use the ATI board vitals that is provided to us already? Thank you so much in advance😊
@thescrubslife
@thescrubslife 11 месяцев назад
Thank you and huge congrats to you as well on earning your BSN! I used Archer and never touched Board Vitals after graduating. I will be making a video on this soon, but tldr: imo each will set you up for success, but the one you choose will heavily depend on what kind of review you desire. If you know for sure that the in-depth rationales that uworld gives you will help you with your content review, i suggest that. If you are very solid with content already, I recommend archer. That was my situation and I passed in 85 questions. I hope that helps!

Please answer --- will the exit ATI exam have NGN style questions? Or are they all going to be SATA and regular multiple choice ? Also, how many questions does it have ? My ATI profile only has "BoardVitals NCLEX Prep" . Did you use this ?
@thescrubslife
@thescrubslife Год назад
Yes, there will be NGN style questions on the exit exam. In addition, regular SATAs and regular multiple choice will be on there too. I had a total of 180 questions. I also had Board Vitals, however I did not use it as much because I was required to do ATI Capstone and VATI as assignments for my class already. If Board Vitals is all your school provides you, I would say use the same technique in understanding the rationales, and also practice taking 180 question tests in one sitting so that you’ll be used to it on the exit exam

I used the ATI capstone questions that we are assigned in that term combined with practice questions that my instructor gave to us for extra practice within ATI. Other than those, I also did the questions within the pink book

@javajoe_gaming9923
@javajoe_gaming9923 11 месяцев назад
Double check your info are you sure it’s 90%? apparently a 72% on the comp equates to a 90% pass rate on NCLEX
@thescrubslife
@thescrubslife 11 месяцев назад
Hello there, so the raw score you need to get on the actual comp in order to graduate is a 72% at West Coast University. A 72% on the comp is equal to a 90% chance of passing the NCLEX, which is what the school wants from their students. I hope that helps!

Hi there, I apologize for not getting to this comment sooner. My main resource that I used was any previous ATI test that I had in the past. Start with the areas with the lower scores, do the dynamic reviews for each, and then if you have access to the ATI dynamic quizzes, do those too on the topics you just reviewed. From there, assess your preparedness and decide if you need to spend more time on certain topics. From there, rinse and repeat for your other previous test scores. It's time consuming, but this will honestly help you come exit exam and NCLEX. No other better way to prep in my opinion.

After seeing the exam, almost none of the questions are in that pink book. ATI is the biggest joke of a program. Their proctors have typos in them, the questions don't match up to the pink book or the general subject book. I asked an ATI rep where we are supposed to learn the knowledge for these questions when the knowledge isn't in the books they give and she said good question.😂 just do what everyone else does, and you'll be fine, but as a whole, that company is a joke.

Hi there! If you're coming from a school that has been utilizing ATI the whole time, I would suggest sticking to that. Like doing the dynamic quizzes, pink book, reviewing past test scores and doing their respective dynamic reviews, VATI (if your school provides access to it). I come from the group that believes that the less resources used to prepare, the better off you are. It becomes less confusing in my honest opinion. My MAIN source of study material for the NCLEX was ATI. I would go as far as saying that it prepared me well enough that if I had the choice to take the NCLEX days after the comprehensive predictor, I would have passed it without a doubt. I scored well on the ATI practice exams and that would have been enough. I ended up doing Archer NCLEX review just for funsies after nursing school was over, and honestly I did not really need to looking back. ATI prepared me sufficiently. That being said though, not everyone's review is the same. Some of the most brilliant people I know just did NOT like ATI and opted to choose other resources to prep for NCLEX. And in my opinion, any one that you choose will prep you just fine (Archer, Uworld, etc.). If you are in the camp that has no problem with ATI, I recommend sticking with it. If not, Archer or Uworld are great alternatives. I hope this helps and best of luck!
