Ben, thank you many times over for that KV stem download script. I have purchased over 360 KV custom backing tracks since 2014 and I cannot tell you how tedious it is to download a song stem-by-stem. I cannot understand for the life of me why KV doesn't have a stem set file download button on the song page. I've bought over 360 KV custom backing tracks since 2014 and have yet to get around to downloading at least 49 of them. Would have been nice to have a switch argument that lets you choose to download the stems with the count-in in front, though. Anyhow, thanks again. It's a real time-saver.
Love this. I do a very similar thing with GarageBand. I'd LOVE to have your code to run the routine to download all the stems/tracks. This would save me hours of work!!
First, what an amazing job you did with kv-downloader! WOW! Kudos! I have started with the newest version. Is there a way that it will not include the count in if by chance it was set at some point in the past for a given song? I have about 400 songs and I wish not to have to manually remove it.
Excellent video. Your process is very similar to mine though you are far more advanced. I’m guessing but I’d bet the reason the karaoke-version’s tempo waivers is because they play along with the original versions most of which were recorded before protools. Thanks for posting.
Ben, great video! I'm a total beginner to Logic Pro X and Stage Traxx 3, so I'm trying to use your video as an instructional tool in the hope of learning the basics. Have I bitten off more than I can chew? Having recently downloaded both software packages on my iMac, I've 'dot-pointed' each process into a word document. So I'm literally copying what you've done with 'Keep Your Hands To Yourself'. A few questions, though: 1. How do I move the whole song (all the tracks) forward (to the right) in order to accomodate a two-bar click? 2. How do I put a two-bar click on the Click Track? 3. How do I select/copy, then paste at the beginning of the Click Track? Obviously I'm still learning the key commands, and as yet I haven't got a clue what all the little icons mean up by the tool bar! I need to figure out a way to turn stereo tracks into dual mono tracks in Logic because from what I understand, Logic's way of dealing with stereo is not to move the left to the right but silence the left. Some single stereo KV rhythm guitar mp3s have one guitar on the left and a slightly different guitar on the right. So panning in Logic will negate the L guitar. This is also true on background vocals as well.
in that case I'd probably duplicate the track and pan each one. Alternatively you might be able to sum the track and send to a bus which is panned hard L or R.
Good morning I admit that I'm not really familiar with the terminal commands, but I managed, with tutorials, to clone the project. but when I enter the nmp command it does not recognize it I get a message "zsh command not found" Is there something I'm doing wrong? THANKS

Hello Ben, A multi track question. Ok so it seems you put your 4 to 6 tracks into the app. Then pan again the music left and click right because the output is only 2? Left and right? My interface is only 2 channel as well.
Yes that's right. However I did eventually upgrade to a Presonus 16R, which has plenty of digital outputs we can use from the iPad. So I had to go back and unpan (center) all of the tracks for all the songs. 😅 -- But for most people using a more affordable interface, you'll only have 2 channels so the only way to split them into separate tracks is with hard panning.
Another question, Ben, how do you share all your recent changes with your bandmates and keep in sync? Do you do a full back up and then sync everybody up with the most recent changes? I need a github for band scores and tracks 😂
No one else in the band has an iPad, so it's just me. But I do use multiple devices. I tend to make all major edits on my Mac and then use the iPad for practice & gigs. I used to have to backup & restore often, but now I'm using the ST3 iCloud sync, and so far it's working pretty well.
Hello Ben. Great Tutorial at all. I do exact the same thing with tracks from Karaoke Version but Preparing them with Studio One. So i also have Logic x and want to use it for this kind of preparing instead of Studio One. So my question is: 1. You wrote a small program or code to automate the download from karaoke version . would you share the Program? 2. Do you have to timestretch the individual tracks or is it only the drum or Klick Track that makes the leader for the others. 3. Hey Mike, 1. Here's a link. I just don't want to officially support it :) --github.com/subdigital/puppeteer-karaoke-version 2. The click that KV provides works well, but it often drifts, so if you make your own click you'll find that the song will deviate from it. So I use the click from KV, and when I import the song I can use the click track to analyze tempo. This can be useful if you need to edit or loop sections. 3. Doesn't have to be, but see point number 2.

I will try it soon.❤ Another Question i have is about the state of the tracks. when the click track is analyzed and the relative position of the other tracks is fixed does this mean i can change the tempo and the other tracks following automatically or must i do some tweaking in the Audio tracks to follow the tempo? I have tried to find a way to take the Karaoke Version tracks and snap them to a grid in Logic. I have used the brute force method and snipped at each quarter-note and moved them. It takes forever and causes some audible skips if you aren’t careful. Does your method adjust the tracks to grid or Vice-versa? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
The method I show here adjusts the tempo in Logic to fit to the actual tempo in the track. So what happens is the grid warps to fit whatever the beat is. You can see it in the global tempo track, most tracks are not 100% bang on to a click, and they tend to fluctuate.
@@bscheirman Thanks. I am pretty new to Logic but will try your method. I am convinced Karaoke-Version produces their tracks by copying the original song onto their DAW and playing along with it so the tempos waivers just like the original. My band plays a few songs that are of the Protools era and their tempo is locked in. Thanks for the video and your response.
I love the script! I managed to get it working, I wish I knew how. It's far too clever for me. Next step would be to queue a load of URLs. Probably easy for someone to mod to make this happen.
@@kitchendezina where do you put the .env file with login credentials and what did you name it? I'm using a Mac running Ventura. Tried calling it login.env and put it in the root of the project, the src folder, and GitHub folder. All fail. :-(
Great video... My workflow is similar, but I just download the tracks I need, to use in ST3. I use Ableton, but usually, I just save the files straight and import to ST3. I love the routine you used to download each track separately. How can I obtain that routine? That would save a lot of time.
@@TiaraSiyani any new iPad will do fine, the Pro line will be handle more simultaneous tracks. If you need it also to control a mixer, lights, etc and backing tracks I would recommend the iPad Pro
