Thank you Matt. An excellent video. Very informative & business-minded oriented. It's not about chasing the money. For the Love of money is the root of all evil. It's about succeeding in business rightly, In wisdom. I know it takes time to put together and informative video like this. I appreciate you 👍 Most of all, Thank you for your obedience in Christ.
I don't try to compete with the big guys for turf. I found a niche controlling weeds on gravel drives and parking lots spraying for things like Russian thistle and knap weed. I will not do any less than 125/hour. Time starts when I walk out my front door. Otherwise, I would rather not take the risk and have plenty of other work to do.
A penny per sqft was high for my area. I’m closer to $0.007 per sqft as a solo operator based on route density and product costs. I also have minimums for front only and “normal” yards for the area. I’ve never heard of “nextdoor” so I’ll be giving that a try.
I would stick with the penny per sq ft but, I would offer an app. free if they agree to use your services for a seasonal plan . So, if you do multiple apps per season ,the one free app. won't hurt you that much but, it will close the sale on your customers. I'm not sure if this is good advice but, maybe something to consider.
Men that can grow a beard like that have good genes! #jealous Amazing job editing brother, a very well constructed video with great content, good lighting, love the "Save the Storks" logo to support that amazing cause. Keep it up!!!!! 284 subsssss!!!!!!
Next door has worked pretty well for me also. On the bidding be careful "racing" to the bottom on pricing. I am fairly high for my area but I stuck to the pricing and now have a customer base at my rates. I found advertising to my current mowing customers has worked best.
Great insight! First and foremost, I think you should keep on pressing forward with your current/new pricing and gather as many clients as possible as well as EXPERIENCE! Additionally, I would like to add that your application section of Scripture was excellent. Keep it up! If anyone has ears to hear, he should listen!
I don't know how I missed this! I appreciate your encouragement! I learned a ton last year and I'm much more confident preparing for 2020! Thanks for watching!
Man! I don't know how I missed your comment. I'm so sorry. Home advisor...not a fan. I just don't like paying for leads. It cuts into to bottom line and I think with good marketing they just aren't nessessary.
Question for you. I believe you said you were in oklahoma. Getting ready to inquire about starting a weed control business. I'm a disabled vet with extra time on my hands, and I am a lawn freak. Years ago, I've had a small mowing business but chose to go to active duty. What is required in Oklahoma to get your commercial license? Ive done some reading but it seems really confusing with the whole pesticide/herbicide thing. Im not looking to blow up as a business, judt more along the lines of maintining the same amount of yards per month. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your comment! I chose not to renew my license this year and subcontracted weed control. But, when i got lisenced, it was as simple as passing the general test and any catagories you want to add and paying the lisencing fees
Your sq ft Pricing seems ok but you still need to set a minimum. Ours is $40 but that’s up to each company to figure out. That may seem high but as you mentioned you need to be licensed, plus your insurance might be more if you are spraying, more risk, and clients can drive you crazy with call backs on weeds and unrealistic expectations. Lawn treatments are a good service that can be profitable, but be specific on your service agreements and keep records. Good luck!
