How I print small photos for my journal with the Canon Selphy

Hello my lovely RU-vid Family!
I love printing my small photos at home for convenience. I use my iPhone for taking photos and a Canon Selphy CP900 for printing. At home I can print photos anytime and instantly, and I can resize & collage my photos and get just what I want.

***UPDATE***
For years there were many Polaroid and instant film style apps available on the App Store. Now, most of them are gone. My favorite was the Polaroid FX app that has recently re-branded itself as 'InstaLab' and has completely removed all Polaroid references. It had something to do with copyright laws.

This is EXACTLY the product I was looking for to print out small photos for my journal! After many stressful years I've finally found one that I can work with T.T Thank you so much for making this video and I can't wait to use that polaroid app for future journal entries :)

Thanks. I've been considering one of these printers. I saw a video of a woman who took the printer and journal with her on her trip and journaled at the end of each day. I thought that was a great idea while everything is fresh in your mind.

OMGOSH Christina this is fabulous! I have had the selphy for months and haven't used it...Crazy I know but I wanted to print out small photos but I didn't know how. I thought I was going to need to get a smaller printer such as the LG popo...I'm soooo excited TY, TY, TY! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for demonstrating how to print on your Selphy. I am seriously considering the purchase because I too take all my photos on my iPhone. Also, have you considered putting a BOOSTER on your Wifi at your home? That would help your signal be much stronger. Just a thought! ♥Gigi♥

Do you know any apps that let you print wallet size on the 4x6 paper?

Yes, I use PhotoCollage app. First I edit the photos on my iphone (usually add contrast and brightness) Then I open up the photocollage app and select my collage style. (which can be one 4x6 photo or 2 -2x3 or whatever you want) Then select my size 2.3 which is 4x6. Add my photos, then save what I created to my phone and transfer to my computer. From my computer I print on 4x6 glossy photo paper. And sometimes on the app I pick the 1:1 ratio which is a square and print that on 4x6 to get little square pictures. xx

Hi I just downloaded the Polaroid fx app but their is no 3rd button nor a collage button. Is there a different app that I can use to print Polaroid collage?

I will have Amy help to I am not a techy person as you know. It's remembering all the steps that's my problem and in the right order, lol. Now I'm excited. When I sent you those pictures of us did they go to your phone or another computer, I was hoping you were able to print them. So can I print small photos from my regular camera with the Selphy or is the Selphy only compatible with cell phone cameras?

Sandy Smith Hi Sandy, your photo was sent to my iphone. You can print from your camera. The memory card from the camera goes into the slot in the side of the Selphy printer. I'll have to figure that out and do another video.

Hi, I just downloaded the Polaroid fx app but their is no 3rd button nor a collage button anywhere on my screen. I have successfully imported my pictures. On the top I only have the 9 square boxes, the 4 squares and the setting buttons, on the bottom I have an import button, the polaroid button and the select button. Nothing about making a collage, where do I find this button?

Hi Jeanne, I just opened my Polaroid FX app and there are four icons at the top and three on the bottom of the screen. Hi Vickie! The background or table top is self adhesive vinyl that I put on those large poster boards you can get at the office supply store or Walmart. Then I just lay it down on my craft table. I purchased it on Ebay. Search for "Self Adhesive Vinyl Peel-Stick Wallpaper Contact Paper" on ebay and you'll see different kinds and patterns.

Kinjal Kamdar Hi Kinjal, since I did this video the app has updated and there have been a few changes. The collage button is now on the bottom. I will try to do an updated video.

Christina Betts frankly I can't see one on the bottom... there are 3 buttons import, Polaroid and select... can you help as I want to print one n gift someone tomorrow

Kinjal Kamdar Hope this helps... first tap Import (bottom left) select photo, photo will then import into the app. Then tap top right (has an arrow pointing down) then tap the X on top left. If you want to import more photos then do the same as above. When you are ready to make your collage, tap collage, (bottom right) then tap the plus sign and choose your collage shape (mine is rectangle) then tap Polaroid (bottom middle) choose your photos by tapping on each one (you’ll see a check mark on each photo) then tap ADD. Move your photos around to arrange them and size them. When you are finished arranging and sizing tap the top right icon and save to camera roll. From there you would print it from whatever printing device you are using. :))

hi guys, i cannot find the same app as yours. the polaroid fx does not have 4 icons on top so i cant make the collage.... and the pic jointer is not the same as yours.... so i can't follow your tutotial. i needto print 1.5 x1.5 pictures.... help

oh no! do you mean the canon printer app? I just opened the poloroid fx app and there are still 4 icons at the top, and the pic jointer app has changed a bit since their updates. there'a always changes after updates. Maybe I should do another tutorial.... what do you think?
