It took me 2-3 years to find my peace of mind, after I realized (26 years it took me) there’s something terribly wrong….it was so devastating to realize I lost 26 years of my life believing in lie…I prayed I was wrong, I didn’t wanted to be right, it was hatred to accept….still, sometimes now some 6 years later feel in myself I miss meetings and songs…I really wanted to worship God…now I am praying and reading for myself and have peace of mind

In 1919, when they claim to have been examined and approved they were till celebrating Christmas, going to war and bootlegging liquor to support the ministry.
I'm reading 'Captives of a Concept'. To me the biggest thing is that during this examination period they were teaching Jesus had already come in the 1870s.

The date thing was so confusing to begin with when I was a PIMI so I was so glad to have someone else do my thinking for me. Boy did I need THAT wake up call. Way to go on digger deep into that one! It isn’t an easy place to wake up but it works really well once you can understand it!
What an absolutely excellent video. Decades ago, when the Revelation book came out and I just could not seem to make sense of all the dates and times and numbers... I started asking myself questions. Then I started asking others questions (that didn't go over well lol). This was such an excellent presentation of difficult concepts. It's hard to explain something like this so the average person can understand it, it becomes nearly impossible when the premise is not real lol. You did an amazing job!

You have addressed THE crucial issue. Since its foundation the Watchtower Society has been proclaiming the message of the invisible parousia of Christ. Under Russell, the year 1874 was considered the decisive date. It was only after the failure of the prediction about the visible return of Jesus in 1914 that the date for the invisible presence was arbitrarily moved retroactively to 1914. The doctrine of the invisible presence of Christ is therefore the hallmark of Watchtower Society`s edifice of faith. Consequently, the Watchtower Society is to be identified as one of the "false prophets" that Jesus explicitly warned us about in his end-time discourse. (Matthew 24:23-27, Luke 17:22-24).
It was all the errors in the blue creation/evolution book that triggered me to investigate more. The misrepresentations, misquotes, and misunderstanding of the science stood out, then the whole deck of cards collapsed. I walked away many years ago, giving them the benefit of the doubt, that they meant well, but were innocently misguided. Since learning of so much deception they utilise elsewhere, I no longer give them that doubt benefit. That book is a deliberate manipulation tool. No different to any other.
I’ve since bought a “Divine plan of the ages” book, complete with its fold out pyramid map. Plus some other old publications, out of curiosity. The whole thing is laughable. Yet my family was taken in by it all, some sadly still are.
In 1919 the Org leadership was imprisoned for “sedition”; they were released with the condition that they remove the “seditious” material from the Finished Mystery. They complied. How was this a “cleansing”?
Hey Caleb, just a Little information about me. I studied a little in the 70s. I remember a ministerial servant and an Elder saying they made some decisions about not having to pay off auto loans and mortgages, and look what happened. (1975!) It was a bad time for a lot of people because of the Vietnam War. I was scared at that time but times have changed.so look at now I was, so involved with the cult, I pioneered 4 years, Worked on quick builds and assembly halls and now what? I gave my life to Watchtower and have nothing to look for my whole life that I gave to that cult. .

To be fair, the _Bible_ calls Christians "sheep". It's not a JW thing. It's Christian thing. It's a foolish metaphor to be sure, when you consider that God and Jesus are called shepherds and literal sheep are exploited and even killed by shepherds.
I had a different question regarding Satan apparently being the one who caused World War 1 as he was so angry about being kicked out of heaven when Jesus became King and Jesus' first act as King was kicking him out. And Jesus did this in October 1914 despite the war starting months earlier. I asked a JW about this saying "So did Jesus simply tell Satan 'Hey Satan, I'm going to be King soon and the very first thing I am going to do is kick you out of heaven.'?" Seems really odd. I mean if the JW would respond "Yes. That must've happened. Jesus must have told him prior." Then that means if Jesus didn't warn Satan prior, then World War 1 would have started within a couple weeks after October 1914 which would've made their argument much stronger.
Another point, the chapter in Daniel about the tree dream took place after 607, which according to JW is a time when God;s sovereignty had been cut off. Yet 4 times in that very chapter His sovereignty is assured for generation after generation without interruption. It is the entire point of the chapter!!!
Since I've been out in February 2022, I have been involved in investigating 🔎 Archaeology, especially Bible Archaeology! Because of this we know where The Garden of Eden was located! And other important Bible Sights. Creation times of each day being 7000 years as stated by JW'S all begin to fall apart, especially a major city in Turkey with 8000 years of documents! Yes 8000 years! How an there be 8000 years of solid documentation if Adam was just created about 6000 years ago? So even all their Bible Chronology becomes questionable? Even the year of the flood! All these dates claimed by Jehovah's Witnesses should fall in line with truth! And as you are learning with research, that's just not the case!
Plus 7 "times" = 2520 days, which means that a Biblical year (or time) is only 360 days long (which makes sense as it is what the Israelis used), so even if we say Jerusalem fell at 607bc and we add 2520 *biblical* years to it it comes out to 1878, because each Biblical year is 5 days shorter than a normal year.
Exactly, I just made a comment about this on another video. JW say that a year = 360 days but then they use the Gregorian calendar of 365 days/year to make the calculations which is a huge conflict. I wonder if the higher ups are aware of this error or are hiding it and hoping no one picks up on it.

Caleb, great video, the way you breakdown the chronology of false prophecies, I’ve was new to WT back in the 80’s, here is why I fully agree with your viewpoint. The idea that all RELIGIONS are false except JW’s, is the most contradictory statement, Jesus never taught or brought a religion (Mat.6:33), he brought a Kingdom, and he warned disciples (Mat. 24:36) regarding wanting to know day and hour of the end, another contradiction with the fascination wanting to know “The Day of the End”. However I believe this is a smoke screen to deter true worshipers from “Seeking Kingdom First. The Governing Body has hijacked the direction of the Holy Spirit and concealed true knowledge and successfully alienated and persecuted critical thinkers disciples and elevated elders that function as henchmen enforcing false teachings, therefore tarnishing Our Heavenly Fathers Name and Reputation very similar as the Nation of Israel did not recognize Jesus. Their attendance has dropped and door to door activities have ceased compared to the 80’s and 90’s. So I would suggest we need to focus on “Seeking Kingdom first as outlined by Our Lord and savior commanded, to complete the assignment of preaching the Good News of the Kingdom without distractions.
Interestingly, there's a growing body of historians that would widen the length of World War one to include related preceding and successive conflicts. The first of these would be the First Balkan War, that started in October of 1912. So just a heads-up to the Governing Body, you might take that one and make it sound a bit more plausible. Won't save the rest, of course, but I like to be constructive.
Why not just embrace 587 BCE and move the date up 20 years to 1934? This way they can now point to the even bigger WWII as the great war signaling the ousted Satan making woe for mankind. The 1934 date puts a nice gap between Satan's ouster and the start of the war. This eliminates the problem with the 1914 date where the war starts _before_ Jesus is enthroned and Satan thrown out. Plus, with a 1934 date they can now move the appointment of the FDS up to 1939 - by which time they already abandoned many of the crazy false teachings they still adhered to in 1919 which is when they currently claim they were appointed. And lets not forget that 1934 would buy them an extra 20 years of lifetime for the current iteration of their "this generation" teaching. Abandoning 607 BCE and 1914 in preference to 587 BCE and 1934 would be win win for them. I think with the passage of time they will be forced to either do this or altogether abandon the notion that there is some secondary fulfillment to the 7 times prophecy in Daniel.
Hey just so you know, I’m not if anyone else is hearing it, but there was a really high pitched tone that sounded every three seconds or so throughout the whole video. Not sure what could be causing it, but I heard it in my right ear. My current belief is that, based on Biblical accounts, God does not have 1 Organización. Plenty of instances where people of different backgrounds had God's favor. God's acceptable and favored people in ALL walks of life.
It’s so funny to think that Christ had to wait around til 1914 doing what exactly? After Jesus was resurrected the reader can find out exactly what he did.(Acts1:1-14) Somehow, we missed how heaven and earth shattering this was in all of human history.
I really enjoy seeing someone's lightbulb come on. Isn't it amazing how 8 million people do not use ounce of critical thinking ability and just accept anything the WT says when the rebuttal to it also exists in the very same publications. Every time a prophesied Armageddon date comes and goes (with nothing happening of course) we are told either nothing, or blame is attributed to "over-enthusiasm" by Watchtower writers or misplaced "speculation" by "Jehovah's people". Following the abandonment of the, "before the end of the 1914 generation" prophecy in 1995, there followed a 15 year period of nothing - other than, "Armageddon's coming soon!". In 2010, specifically the study edition of the Apr 15, 2010 Watchtower, we were told that via Jehovah's "increased light", Armageddon is coming before the generation that overlaps the generation that witnessed the year 1914 passes away. This overlapping generation is "not excessively long" and "it has an end." WHEN even the G.B. is forced to admit the falsity of this still current, overlapping generation prophecy, what then? How much longer can this obvious scam continue?
