I was feeling pretty bad for myself in the hospital after emergency surgery until I saw your videos. You got me through a very difficult time and we're friends that just never met yet. You're lovely inside and out. Thank you for sharing your life and helping others. ♡

I love the idea that these are also not necessarily meant to be hidden but to stand out as a beautiful piece of lingerie or fashion. I don't have an ostomy, but I do have an implanted medical device that has made it hard to wear any kind of pants with a waistband. I can definitely understand the excitement of finding a piece of clothing that you previously couldn't wear or enjoy suddenly being accessible again. 💜

I have had spinal cord injury for twelve years, had a colostomy two years ago, as ironic as it sounds, the latter built my confidence to accept my situation, perceiving myself as a scarred warrior, someone who’d been through a harsh road, and as hard as alienation feels, being aware of my present is a blessing. God bless you, your attitude is beautiful, and so are you.

You are such a good spokeswoman for crohns and someone with an ileostomy, as you address every issue and how there are good and bad periods with the bag etc. I wished you had a lot more subscribers, you deserve to Maggie. Love the wraps, looling great💞

Thank you so much Maggie for sharing. I had my surgery March 25th, 2019 for which my colon was removed except for the rectum. I had been dealing with chronic constipation for years. It was about the end of March into first part of April of 2018 that it began to escalate to a more difficult and serious situation. I was hospitalized from April 2018 to January 2019 nine times for small bowel obstructions and severe constipation. I had two exploratory laparoscopic, for which the one on April 30th there was numerous adhesions taken care of and another one done on August 1st because of an anomaly showing on the CT scan at that time that was also noted on a previous scan just a few weeks prior to that but they said everything was okay. In January I did a Sitz Marker test. I took the capsule on Friday and the final x-ray done on Wednesday showed I had 16 of 24 markers remaining in the colon. The surgeon finally agreed to do the surgery and remove the colon that I now have an ileostomy. After surgery I could not believe how much better I felt. She sent samples to Yale pathology for a second opinion and they called to verify if those samples came from a living person. I was not surprised with that report like she was because I knew that it was dying inside of me especially when super prep bowel prep took two days to work. Unfortunately I now have a parastoma hernia to the right of my stoma, "Jonah." On side view I now look pregnant but my surgeon said that the CT scan that was done July 1st when I went to ER for severe abdominal pain showed that everything was okay even though my abdomen was protruding outward on the right side though not as much as it is now. I went to another surgeon at a different facility in Omaha for a second opinion. I had a CT scan done with contrast that I drank along with an IV contrast on August 13, (my 25th scan since 2015) which was also the day we had the memorial service for my dad. A very stressful day filled with sadness and extreme apprehension in regards to whether the scan would show that there was a definite hernia for which my previous surgeon said it was than next visit when I saw her, she said it wasn't a hernia according to the scan. The scan on the 13th did show that there is a definite hernia and I'm scheduled for surgery August 23rd at 7:30am. Oh my gosh, these will be so great to get a few after this surgery and hopefully no more complications. So I really can relate to the issue of self image because it's protruding outward so much that I'm just wearing oversized t-shirts and the pain is constant. I was just so fearful that he wouldn't do the surgery. I was fortunately to find a top that covered it for my dad's memorial service that looked very nice. Again, thank you so much Maggie for your numerous videos that have been so helpful for me and I truly appreciate your honesty in regards to your bad days for which they've been so helpful in getting me through some of my really bad days.

Best if luck for your upcoming surgery. Do you shop on Amazon? Kiwi brand has very nice sheer ponchos and thanth has very flattering dolman tops. They definitely conceal everything they are supposed to.

It's amazing how such a small piece of fabric and lace can change how we feel about ourselves💜... like a dab of blush and lipstick on a bad mental health day can pick us up a smidge. Those wraps are gorgeous! You can tell they were made by a beautiful soul🥰

I can’t say ostomy wraps are my cup of tea (they draw too much attention to my midsection and divide too much loose, post pregnancy skin for my liking). However, thanks for posting an informative video about such a great company. I personally just wear high cut cotton underwear and a belly band from Target.

I’ve not had an intimate moment with my husband since I got my bag (it wasn’t planned and a real shock). It’s been 6 years now. I know exactly how it feels to be highly insecure about it.

I had a hard time with mine as well. My husband is quite understanding and it's my own insecurity. I've now become comfortable by using more discrete appliances as well as different lingerie. I forget it's even there. I hope you find your way back to each other ♡♡

NYSOM My situation is quite similar. He is incredibly understanding but he knows and feels my insecurity and I think that’s putting a barrier between us. Of course, I could be the one who makes the first move but that’s when the insecurity hits again...”what if he’s not in the mood?...what if he’s disgusted when directly confronted with it?...what if he simply can’t fancy me that way anymore?”. So I just don’t.
@12roses1thorn
@12roses1thorn 5 лет назад
I wholeheartedly understand that feeling. Its almost a relief not knowing what that outcome would be so complete avoidance is ideal. But! I'm just one chat away and if you ever make that move you let me know and we will talk through it! 🤗

I just started watching your videos. I’m a new ostomate. I went in for surgery just for some repairs on my small intestine. I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in 1985 at the age of 17. In 1991 I had a total colectomy with an ileostomy. A year later I had the ileoanal pouch created. So I’ve had the internal pouch for 27 years. I had no idea I was getting the Ostomy. My surgery was 3 weeks ago and ever since my skin around the stoma is weeping blood. It’s an inch around the stoma. I am very frustrated. I can’t get anything to stick to my skin. I’m supposed to get a reversal. It can’t come soon enough.

You are an amazing young woman and I truly believe your videos are making a difference for many...they are for me. Keep up the great work! I do have a question about this video. I went to the website given in this video but it can't be found. Any suggestions? Thanks for all you do.

With the skin issue, not sure if urve tried a flixotide inhaler?? Its a dry puff of steroid that asthmatics use. I puff it onto skin before I put my big on. Best tip I've ever been told. Comes in different strengths also!! Totally worth a try if you havnt done!!

Hey maggie I'm so depressed. How is it my 12 and 11 year old and a 1 year old can overlook it. I told my 12 year old cousin I wanted to risk my life just to geet rid of my colostomy maggie yyou are amazing. You helped m to feel at ease about my colostomy bag. One youtuber says I'm amazing and nobody has the right to make fun of that. Maggie my 1 year old cousin would hug me and when my colostomy would smell my 1 year old cousin tells me it's ok. She calls my cousin kaitlyn caca. Maggie I feel lik you have a tesimony that GOD can use to bless others. I was embarrassed of changing my colostomy bag at my uncle's house and the kids told me I have no reason to be afraid and that my colostomy bad makes me special. My couins will love your videos. If somwone made fun of me my 12 year old cousin would lose her temper. God bless you maggie in JESUS name.

I feel that way about my ostomy every single day!! I have to wear a hernia belt every day and while uncomfortable as hell it helps to hide it . Im having a second reversal attempt next month. The first attempt nearly killed me. Good luck to you and to all who have to live life with the challenge and the fear of will this thing show with what i am wearing? will this thing fall off or leak? having to plan your entire day and night around being close to bathroom to empty it after you have ate or even if you have not ate. Sometimes it seems just to much!!

Good luck with your reversal surgery!! It's funny... I get more nervous about the thought of working "normally" than having a bag the rest of my life. I don't know how I would manage having to actually use the restroom - I guess I am just too used to having my ostomy!
