I See Stars is a band I discovered in 2012. They're a band that holds a profound influence on both my music taste and creative influence. They're a band that I believe truly perfected the "electronicore" sound of the late 2000s/early 2010s; whose influence draws from sectors all over the electronica scene, including the sonic sounds from the Detroit dance community.
They're a band that started in the suburbs of Detroit and went on to pioneer a sound whose influence is still felt today world over.
This is how they pioneered and perfected the electronicore sound; from my own retrospective.
YO THIS IS A FAT VID - I know it's been a minute - appreciate y'all being patient! I recently relocated to San Diego so that's taken up a bunch of time BUT now that I'm all settled in I finished up this badboi and can finally release it to your eye and earballs.
I fucking love this band!
HOPE Y'ALL ENJOY!!!

i was introduced to them in 2011 on the Scream It Like You Mean It Tour. I was actually there for Chiodos but i ended up getting ISS’s autographs.

I LOVE electronicore! This music was the soundtrack to my life in the late 2000's early 2010's. The combo of synths and breakdowns was so unique, I remember all the "top 10 synth breakdowns" videos all over RU-vid back in the day. It's cool to see bands still flirting with this style to this day. Awesome video and a total nostalgia trip!

YESSS haha i loved those old top 10 vids! Absolutely; love seeing the style embedded in modern EDM and metal artists like Sullivan King. Thanks so much for watching!!!

The intro to The End Of The World party 🔥 those fry screams still seem unmatched to me. I think I found my new favorite RU-vidr

You are the man 🔥 right??? Zach’s fry in his peak was just insane; almost demonic-sounding at times

@@JawncoreIL I grew up on all the same music as you man! But since I’ve been binge watching your videos, you should definitely explore more of the Chicago scene you grew up in. You seem to have good insight and I like the structure of your videos! 🔥

3D is so good. And What This Means To Me is the best song on the album in my opinion.

The Common Hours is the best song BUT almost every single song on that record could be a single itself, thats how good it is.

Always cool to see you post a music discussion! I was not on board at all, I avoided this sound like the plague in early 2010’s lol. But that breakdown at 5:20 is pretty sick, I’m going to go check that album out now.

Enter Shikari was doing that sound way before any of the bands you listed.

Enter Shikari was doing trance/core/brit pop... different wave of electronic elements & genres than the synth, autotune, post hardcore ISS was using. also are you not gonna mention Sky Eats Airplane?

@@QlockworkOrange Shikari invented the genre bud

@FuryNotFurry horse the band came first bud & every artist around that time was doing it differently, as I stated in my previous comment. Enter Shikari, I See Stars, & Sky Eats Airplanes debut records sounded absolutely nothing alike other than they have breakdowns with screaming & electronic dance elements with singing, only correlation between the bands who were all doing their own take, not really influenced by each other. Cope bud
