Today I take you with me for a typical farmer's market day. It was a little windy so you see how that effects my display and also how I deal with my tent almost being blown away! I go over some tips and tricks that will help you at your next farmer's market. We also tell you how much we much money in sales we made on this day!

I can't imagine anyone saying anything negative...I was a newbie last year to the Farmer's Market world and stumbled upon her videos.....I have learned so much about so many things from just watching her....People are going to hate something no matter what.....I applaud her for putting herself out there and sharing her wisdom with everyone....well done Jerika...well done indeed.

Great video! I've been doing our Farmers' Market (baking) for the last 15 years and know the 5am wakeup well! Thank you for showing the setup and teardown - as much as you could. I love that you were completely transparent with how much you sold, the tent issues, weather etc. There's so much to consider when starting out and I love that you mention some of the things that no one else does.

I have done farmers markets s9nce I was very little 4 days a week and I love it! Started off with a baking booth at a big farmers market near Cornell University in Ithaca New York for years then later in other towns all over for years with a family produce farm. Maybe you could do your next video not only on ideas to push sales but also things that come up at markets for those starting out to expect..like all the questions you will get from customers about your products be prepared to give answers that will sell your products..explain the ingredients and how good they are for your skin etc..offer products you can sell them that may be suitable for them or goes along with the topic your discussing whether it be about skin problems they are having or if they are looking for something in particular you may have something close to it you can suggest etc..all kinds of things come up at markets thats what makes them fun interesting and always challenging you as a business owner! do you leave candles open so customers can smell them? do you leave samples pout or use anything neat in your booth to amp it up a bit? Plants are great for contrast and color and little battery operated fairy lights are great too....Love your tips, booth looks great and yes sandbags or weights are a must! I absolutely love how well you two work together..I am sure you have days that get a bit stressful, especially working and living together nonstop, but together you are working it! Congratulations to both of you in how far you have come!

This is my dream ...I love making all of this stuff, have an entire formulator room/apothecary room (mass of money for hobby).....but the amount of Money I would/or could make ....does not come close to my income from real life job..... not feasible in real life right now....but this is my dream ....hoping at some point in life even if the income is much smaller .... but this is life....love love love your channel ...wish I had followed my dream instead of what was the most practical ..... money is not all in life .....sometime happiness is better .....

I do vending events as well. We have several things going on and one thing I like to do it take things to do. I have a traveling spinning wheel and drop spindles. So I take these items with me and set up where people can see what I am doing. People stop and ask questions, doing something related to your products,if you can draws people over into your stand.

I so agree. I make jewelry and whenever I do an event I bring a variety of supplies. A few times as I'm making a piece, a customer waits and buy what i just made. 👍

We lost our canopy last week too! Grrr, I was putting things away, husband told me, "it's windy, so I need you to hold onto the tent". I ignored him and a gust took it away. New canopy for me too.

Farmer markets are great here in the USA but most of them charge higher prices for a booth/space$70.00-$100.00. Most of the smaller places want a certain percentage of your sales and they want you to donate an item for auction. It’s crazy here. Some charge up to $1,000.00 for an inside space a day. Those are the bigger high traffic places. It’s very hard to find a $50.00 or less space charge here in AZ.

I’d love to hear tips and tricks on how you keep your products from melting in the summer time, we just did our first market and half way into the day our butters had melted.

Butters in the summer are tough, it’s typically a winter product; however, add less oil to your recipe, and go with a hardy butter that can withstand higher heat.

Jealousy is a curse and in this case even though they did the thumbs down because they left a remark ( 👎) they interacted with the site so Jerika wins with her Utube monetisation. Great idea with the lipbalms in large bottles. Your display looks beautiful, a pity the wind came up.

I do festivals and understand you being worn out, it is a lot of work, my niece came for her first time and slept the next 2 days she was so tired out. I agree with one on one with customer's instead of online. I find it harder to deal with them online, they always seem to have something to complain about or just trying to describe something to them. I definitely like dealing with them in person, they can feel, touch and see or smell the product which also helps l it sell. I noticed the wood shelving you used for displays, they were nice..did you make them? Thanks for the tips love your videos and glad you had a good market day. Keep following them. Farmer's Markets cycle through vendors all the time. It wouldn't hurt to get involved in some way, to keep your name in the pool. Farmer's Markets are always looking for board members, volunteers, etc.

We love your shelving displays. Please keep the videos coming tips and tricks for markets would be great. My granddaughter (12) has been doing a regular market for 6 months now is finding it a little disheartening I have told her to hang in there but what can she do to help with her sales.? Ive been doing markets, festivals and school galas/fetes here in australia every weekend most weeks 3 a weekend for 6 years my biggest tip is treat your stall as though it is your shop in a mall if it looks tacky or mot great for a building shop then its not great for your shop walk out into where the people stand and see what they see you are going to spot anything that looks out of place or placed wrong or not approachable as humans we are our biggest critic 😁 sorry this isnt aimed at jerika this is tip for all beginning 😃

Do you network with other vendors at the market to use their products in yours? For example: beekeepers sell honey and beeswax. You can use the honey in your soaps and the beeswax in your candles and lip balms. Support other vendors at your market, create a stronger community!

I make soaps too (also in canada in Calgary actually ) and as much as i would love to do a farmers market it just costs so much! Its like $150 of the space and then you need your own tent and tables etc. I think especially with COVID lot less people decide to go to farmers market now a days :(
