Hi guys! I hope you enjoyed watching me put together Eggroll’s new cage set up! 🐹🍄🌱 Music used: Picnic by Lukrembo Highball by Lukrembo A Cup of Coffee by Muspace
I would definitely recommend a bit more clutter! Since your hamster is a dwarf! An easy, simple, and cheap way is orchard grass hay! Just sprinkle it all of the enclosure to make more cover/clutter for that hamster to feel more safe:)
in my home, even tho on camera all you see is a little hamster but tbh my hamster lives in those pet store cages, very small and not a lot of bedding. Unfortunately, I do know that it’s not a right enclosure for him but my mom says because it’ll take up a lot of space and won’t fit under my desk, I should take him out more often and make a dig box for him, so I did. I hope it’s okay for now. sorry you had to read all this but you do an amazing job at taking care of your Eggy! 🐹
Hi! Thank you! 🐹💕 I’m glad that you understand a small cage is improper care for your hammy, so I would highly suggest you upgrade as soon as possible. Sadly, small pet store cages are no where near suitable for a hamster. As you mentioned, it lacks bedding, it’s small, which means it lacks the space for enrichment, and it’s a danger to your hamster due to the metal bars. Proper hamster enclosures that I recommended include the: IKEA detolf, IKEA linmon, Pawhut, 75+ gallon tank, and the NiteAngel large enclosure. If you’re not able to upgrade to a suitable sized cage (40x20 in.) a pet hamster may not be the right pet for you since they do require a lot of space and tend to be quite expensive! I’d look into watching this video with your mom since it talks about the importance of large enclosures. I hope I didn’t come off as rude! 🐹❤️ ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Sn2xo5CMX34.html&vl=en
@@EggyHamsterbut fortunately! My mom agreed that we can get a plastic bin cage from ikea and get the ones with mesh lids! I can finally have enough space for Silly to roam around to burrow and finally feel comfortable 🐹
Thank you, that’s great! You should also consider the PawHut enclosure on Amazon (remove the platforms in it). It’s a great enclosure for both Syrian and dwarf hamsters! It’s a good price as well. 😊🐹
Love it!! I really want a hamster but I can’t afford it (i sadly dont have like £300 on hand, esp with a betta fish and corys in a 20 gallon 😭) so instead I’ll watch your videos!!
me too everything is so expensive but the frustrating thing is I have a whole entire enclosure and I can’t set it up or anything because I have to buy more things to put in it 😭
@@avabackupaccount I’d recommend checking out hamster items on Temu or Shein! They are quite cheap and okay quality. Just be careful and make sure everything is safe :)
thissss is definitely one of the cutest enclosures I've seen!!! its so big and pillowy, and your hamster is just the cutest. AND there's SO much enrichment I'm very inspired. I know you get alot of your products from niteangel, but where did you get the ceramic hides, if you see this? and what are the substrates called? other than cork chips, like what soil and the others?
Thank you so much!! I got the two mushroom ceramic hides from NiteAngel, the strawberry hide from Chewy, and the hedgehog hide from HobbyLobby! The substrates I have are moss, cork granules, Aspen and cork mix, and coco soil! I’m pretty sure that’s it 😅! I hope that answers all of your questions! 🐹❤️
I’m jealous😭. right now I have a 570sq inch niteangel enclosure for my future hamster, but my parents refuse to buy enrichment items because they think it’s a waste of money. No matter how much I try to reason with them, they immediately get angry any time I mention it:( atm im trying to DIY a multi chamber hideout, but it’s really confusing lol. I wish the niteangel enclosures were cheaper so I could actually have a proper sized one with more space.
i relate with the getting angry whenever we mention it!,we have a giant bag of bedding that can’t hold burrows and she thinks that’s a waste of money wich it is but we didn’t know at the time,it’s a life though, but they have dunelm plastic storage bin wich is long enough but not enough for how much bedding, but she has recently ordered from hopes healthy treats!,it’s a really good website, she got some good stuff, also got niteangel wheels, when it came she woke me up to tell me that one of them had passed 😞 and she didn’t get to experience her life getting better but she loves them so much ❤️🩹 hopefully my next hamsters/hamster will have a better life because if i can make another poor hamster in pets at home have a better life than they have now i will! sent from my hamster in heaven !
You can make great enrichment items from cardboard like toilet roll tubes! Inexpensive and your hamster should have fun with them 🐹 (I know you posted this a while ago but thought I'd mention it ☺️)
I typically buy them at a pet/reptile store! You can also buy them off of Amazon, but it’s not the best option since you don’t know what shape or size it will be.
Thanks! Here are some of the main items I use in her enclosure: NiteAngel multi-chamber hide, NiteAngel acrylic sand bath, NiteAngel acrylic circle sand bath (I use it for her coco soil), 9 inch NiteAngel wheel, Exo Terra forest branch, NiteAngel sprays, and both of the mushroom ceramic hides are from NiteAngel! I buy most of her items off of Amazon, specifically off of the brand NiteAngel. If you have anymore questions about items in her enclosure, feel free to ask me! 🐹❤️
@@EggyHamster tysmmm! could i also be a pain and ask whether a 57x55x115cm enclosure would be good for my hamster? i was thinking about getting a PawHut enclosure for £100 and those are the measurements, but i’m not sure if there are faults with it because it seems too good to be true for the price! again tysm!
@@kel8432 Of course! 😊 Don’t worry about it! The Pawhut enclosure is a great cage since it meets the requirements for a proper sized hamster enclosure. The only downside is that it comes with multiple layers, so I would just take those out. Other than that, it’s a great enclosure! Feel free to ask any other questions, I’m always here to help! 🐹
@@wizardhamster I don’t take out her food stash since it can be stressful for them! The food doesn’t make her cage smell. If you have a large enclosure, the food shouldn’t be making it smell. Just make sure to spot clean your hamster’s cage at least once per week if you notice your hamster’s enclosure smelling since it could be their urine! 🐹❤️
