Shared this video on my community page today. Really professional and great info. I agree with 100% of everything you said. We constantly get comments saying “regular people can’t sell like you guys do” and you have proven them wrong. Just a hard-working dude that’s killing it on eBay. Keep up the good work, man! Subscribed.
You were one of a few select resllers online that showed a total breakdown of your numbers and I appreciated it so much that I followed you. Thank you for being so forward and upfront with your numbers. Most people think it's easy to do this full time, but it's not. A million times over thank you for being honest with how rewarding, but challenging it can be.
Nice vid. I'm in a similar situation. This will be my 1st full year really doing eBay. Consistent sourcing, listing etc... being intentional rather than just putting my old pants up there to sell. Things are moving along, just broke $10, 000 90-day total. We'll see where we are at the end of the year!
Video is a masterpiece from start to finis, you broke it all down perfectly. So sick that you’re creating your own app, would love to get the beta and try it out
Wow, thank you! If you'd like to be a part of the beta, give me your email address here and I'll reach out when it's ready: forms.gle/5rcfD6UeLSzkparL7
Again, there was a lot of great information in this vid. I especially liked you words about motivation and discipline. Also, I'm interested in the app.
I've watched this video several times, it is core to how I am growing my ebay business and I now subscribe to flipwise which has been essential to lessening the worries about how I am doing and to track my inventory and see my costs versus profits. Thank You!
I really liked your breakdown, and it's so true about keeping motivation/discipline. We sell out of Ukraine (I'm from the states) and we do ok via ebay UK to the global market. The 23rd was my 10th anniversary on ebay, but just suffered our first scammer, a $400 loss. Ups and downs, keep rocking it, #subscribed
It's super interesting to hear about how reselling works in other countries. Sorry you got scammed! Did you try calling eBay? I've always had good luck when I get someone on the phone and I've never lost money from a scammer (though I have been scammed a few times).
@@justinresells It was crazy. Scammer from Moscow in Mass. bought 28 orders of children's records (89 albums, very heavy) and while the item was just updated as in NJ, opened 28 "defective item cases". eBay didn't seem to care, told me "you wrote to the buyer, wait for their reply before we can get involved". "Do I need to reply to all 28? "No, we see you replied to her". Well, suddenly, all the ones I didn't reply to started-auto refunding. We had already reported her, no reply from her communicating to let us know the packages dimensions weight for a return label, so I panic refunded 20 items. She got suspended by Trust & Safety. My bad, trying to at least keep fees/health account, I should have waited then appealled. Lost 250+GBP. Funny thing is, the item was still updating 7 days after they were suspended and eBay wouldn't grab my refunds back.
I don't normally comment on these things and I'm currently researching whether eBay is a model for me but this is one of the most professional and informative videos I have seen across all of RU-vid and you have a subscription.
I just came across this video and you earned an instant like and new subscriber. I’ve recently begun trying to build my eBay business and this bit of insight and tips was super helpful. The transparency was amazing. Definitely gave me some guidelines for my own personal growth goals. Thank you so much!!
Incredible Buy Rate. About 12.5%. I might get that once or twice a year on a killer find either at an estate sale or Facebook marketplace. The thrift stores here in Florida have all gone up so high I don't even bother with them anymore
I love how straightforward you are. Not just the details of the business but also your philosophy behind it. I'd love to beta test your app as you get it done. Great job. I'm hitting subscribe.
I’m so impressed with your video! Such high quality accurate information, presented so clearly and on top of that….enjoyable to watch!!!! I can’t wait to watch more content from you! New subscriber! 😊
Just went into my eBay account and saw that a bunch of active listings had ended and not automatically renewed. I had to relist everything but literally lost all my watchers and all of them. Really frustrating and trying to reach a person to talk to is virtually impossible. Honestly want to just have a garage sale and sell everything for what I bought it at and get it off my hands. The worst part about selling high end street wear and sneakers is that a certain demographic tries to rip you off. Either claiming they never received the package minutes after a delivery notification or saying they want to send something back because they don’t like how it fits them. I’m not spending my time sourcing then paying for packing materials and shipping so you can try something on and see if you like it. That’s what the store is for. Gave the reselling thing a try but the profit margins are too low and eBay is too frustrating and has the absolute worst customer service to rely on for the bulk of sales.
Thank you, for such straight forward insight! I exclusively sell on Posh (left eBay last year) and I love gaining insight into other’s process and esp fees. I personally am on a mission to fight all the reselling is “Starbucks and shopping” content out there! I see why so many people fail, sourcing without profit in mind and not staying on top of listing consistently.
I just happened upon your channel and subscribed. I did a little selling on eBay YEARS ago and would like to start again, just as a hobby for now. But things have changed so much...I just don't know where to begin!
I'm so glad you found me, too. Thanks! Drop me your email address in this Google form and I'll reach out when the beta is open: forms.gle/H3Ec8wVD7XPqSzKp9
If Hairy Tornado recommends your channel l will watch. Really fascinated by you guys doing it for yourselves. Greetings from KwaZulu-Natal South Africa 😊
Great video. Interested in your beta for the app. I built my own 'app' as well leveraging Microsoft sharepoint and power automate functions. It works well, but something with api access to pull directly from ebay would be better. Cant seem to get there with my current setup.
Thanks for watching, Rob. If you want to sign up for the beta, I created a quick Google form to collect email addresses here: forms.gle/zmBi8GVBNpABjVCQA That's cool that you built your own app as well; I'd definitely be interested in getting your feedback on our app once we are in beta. We do integrate directly with eBay and ingest all listing and sales data automatically.
Great video laid it all out very nice. I think the statement on discipline has been key for us, once we develop a system having the discipline to stick with it and work out the kinks is important. Me and my wife are starting our 2nd year of reselling and we still love it.
GREAT rundown! I loved the data segment...and the motivation + dedication commentary! I'm nowhere near your level of sales but would love to help with your app, if needed.
As loke everyone else here, i love this video and how detailed you broke everything down and adtually makes sense. Im a 27 year old and started making my handmade ccrafts ministures by nyself so they take a little while to make.they are bundles essentially, its a niche market but its also a hobby that people like to support and i mainly sell on mercari for ease of listing and idk ive just sold most if my stuff on thrre only $980 worth since march but my 90 day tktal on ebay is 360 and when you mentioned 5 kistings a day i thkught hmm . That is probably my problem. I dont have enough stuff to sell to make 5 listings a day but i know one day, i had roughly 20 to 30 products ive made and hadnt listed yet because i would nake one or two a day and each one to make from start to finish after taking jt out of the mold, can take up to 2 days. So i got used to just making 1 or 2 or more a day and molding them, shaping and sanding them, then finishing them eith wood finish. But one day i noticed j had all them to lost and thought to myself why i was working on making more "like bro you have 30 to list all packaged up right there" so i set the goal the next day to only focus on listing,NO building until listed everything. That next day, i actually listed everything and from that day til now i made 1k. So it really opened my eyes on how important it is to list no matter how much it sucks lol
I’m super interested in an the app you’re creating. All resellers big and small as a whole are always looking for the best way to manage the data. It can get overwhelming quick. Thank you for this video, it was super informative.
Thank you so much for this video. I’ve been doing eBay off and on for about 3-4 years and I haven’t been motivated as much as before. This video is bringing that back and I’ll definitely take discipline along with it.
Just started watching you, and wanted to thank you for giving us such great advice. I almost choked at the thermal printer price. I may have to find a starter one as I'm just getting started. but thanks!
Interesting. Sounds like you need a dashboard and forecasting capabilities to give you your min / max per location. That’s what I’m working on, I’m not an eBay seller but started freelancing on the side and needed to track metrics. Stupid but necessary “KPIs”. Boring data, but it’s nice to think something and then look at a 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, 1 quarter and see trend analytics play out. I don’t know what I’m doing though so don’t mind me 😅

Thanks for watching! I set up a Google form to collect email addresses for those that are interested. You can find that here: forms.gle/zmBi8GVBNpABjVCQA
Thanks Justin, great video I'm just starting my youtube channel, my first video should be up by next week- this video was very helpful and encouraging. You definitely just got a new subscriber, I look forward to more content.
Also ebay doesn't allow you to choose to use PayPal for shipping anymore. If you already have it connected for buying labels you can keep using it. But new people can't use that option. So don't accidently switch it to taking the money out of your ebay funds.
This was a very informative video and I really appreciate you taking the time to put all that info together in one place. One of the things that really surprised me was how little time you spend listing. Could you share how you identify and price each item so quickly? I find that I get sucked down a deep rabbit hole for each item, trying to make sure that the details I provide are accurate and to determine where to set the price. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge!!
Thanx Justin for bring very honest & informative about being a seller on eBay but one thing you maybe should've "coveted" is about being on RU-vid and posting about bring s reselling bragger. Don't get me wrong l wish you & all resellers the best & success in all you do. Just don't brag sbout getting this or that item for a couple of bucks at a garage sale then posting a vuew on what it has sold for or the asking price. That reeks of arrogance and rudeness Best of luck in your future endeavors
Great video. I sell a lot in the UK but am nowhere near consistent enough. After watching this video I'll definitely make more of an effort in the new year. Just out of interest what are the main things you sell??
I started reselling items on eBay about a month in and doing really well. I’d love to get some more information on the app you talked about around the 6:40 mark. Thanks for the video it was very helpful!
Id love to check out the beta of what you're working on! At my previous 9-5 I worked closely with the programmer to develop and edit the in-house CRM software. I'd love to try it out and give feedback where I can.
Great! Drop me your email address here and i’ll reach out when it’s ready: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe-ms2gY8sKtS405JxeOyNP6skdq7GOYA1z1jk6EOVNUp1yFg/viewform
Good video. If I may suggest, edit your video where your speaking is the same audio levels as your pop ups. I had to have the volume up to hear you and the music was twice as loud.
Thanks for the feedback. You're right, I did not properly level the music with my voice in this video, but I'll make sure it doesn't happen again. Thanks for watching!
Wow....... The most efficient video I came across!! Thank you!! I know you don't want to talk about taxes completely understand that! I'm just trying to figure out if I should pay quarterly taxes or yearly. I already have a day job & will be starting reselling in January. My tax preparer said I should do quarterly, however my two friends pay yearly. I'm confused & think I should find a new tax preparer. . I would really appreciate your quick input on that. Will I get penalized if I pay yearly? 😊
Just under 9k subs and 112k views. So many people these days looking for a quick buck. I enjoyed your video. I've been selling since 2019. I will subscribe and enjoy more of your content.
Hi Justin i am so grateful for you and similar sellers sharing your knowledge and experience. Can i pls ask to be included in the bega or failing that, put on the waitlist for the app or software you mention in your video? Im just in the early stages of systematising processes for my reselling activities and be glad to participate in the beta, and give you the very specific feedback that comes with that perspective 😊
Curious: Clothing...high return rate? Is it worth pursuing? I've been a hard item collectible/antique guy for over 40 years as a hobby. Now as a Senior Cit...I have to look at increasing my monthly income.
