I'm in Hong Kong for a number of reasons, one of which is to see family. Travelling to HK requires spending 7 Days in hotel quarantine . Here's what I did and ate during this time.

Thank you for sharing... fortunately, I've only had to deal with quarantine in-house. I've worked with people in my job that needed to be quarantined. Most complained daily when I was bringing their meals and other needs. I appreciate your positive attitude.

I like your positive attitude Janice! Even though the room was good and the food was nice, it must have been a drag waiting 7 days to get out into the city, but you remained happy throughout by the look of it. Anyway, enjoy it now!

Loved seeing all these Cantonese vloggers from all over the world with their foreign accents. I once went to a Chinese restaurant in Germany. The waiter was speaking broken German with a Cantonese accent. 🤪 that a kick in the pants.

Congratulations! You can get some vitamin D and fresh air. In NZ, quarantine hotels are required to have a supervised outdoor area where you can exercise. I can relate with the power points as a RU-vidr. Trying to clear carry-on baggage check at the airport, the security person is like... hmmm.

Yo, once you go filter/aeropress coffee too, milk coffee seems heavy hehe. RAT everyday sounds hectic but at least quarantine is only 7 days. Food does look decent, but fri night one seems as fancy as the cocktail lol. Can’t wait to see you explore the city more!

It came with the hotel room! We choose our meals beforehand and they have like 4 choices each meal :)

yeah I don't really have any complaints for it! although the room wasn't the biggest, it was clean and comfy, and the food options were decent too

It looked like the Four Points by Sheraton that you were staying in? I did 2 weeks quarantine in Hong Kong a year ago and know many who had to endure 21 days quarantine! I will be back in August and feel like 7 days will be so easy this time.

Hi Janice 👋. Years ago, I lived and worked in Asia and my favorite city to visit was fabulous and exciting Hong Kong(with short side trips to Macao on the hydrofoil). I just discovered your channel and I am a new subscriber happily binging on your videos 👍💯. One tradition that I had when in Hong Kong was to put together a picnic basket and go up to the Peak. I usually went in the early evening so I could walk around and get that awesome feeling one gets observing that wonderful and unique city. As the sun set and the twinkling lights reflected off the waters of the bay I felt such gratitude and happiness to be once again "home" in "my Hong Kong". Thanks so much for bringing back some happy memories to me. Hong Kong and its people will always be in my heart and prayers. Take care and have a pleasant and rewarding weekend. 👍🤗❤️🙏🇭🇰🌎

I always drank hot chocolate. If a company didn't have free hot chocolate in their machines I could tell they were a rubbish company haha. I want to go to HK so much. Hike up the mountains namely lantau

Yes there are shuttles and they check your hotel confirmation and you lineup based on your hotel

It's interesting to see different quarantine hotels as I just did it a month ago. FYI I stayed at Kerry Hotel which is $1900p/n HKD (got upgraded to a $3000 room... room similar size just views)... first thing I obviously noticed is the size of the bed, bathroom and size of bed and "living area"... the 2nd thing i noticed was the quality of food and portion sizes. Think for anyone who's going to do a Quarantine stay in HK, I would definitely recommend spending the extra $$ if you can... think it makes a world of difference! BUT in saying that, I didn't want to spend that much initially, but booking any room is a difficult task in itself. But ended up feeling like money well spent, as how often do you spend 24/7 in a hotel room during holidays? Rarely.

@@JaniceFung Visually the food looks better compared to yours, and the one my brother stayed at (Cordis), portion sizes bigger as well... eg. your soup was in a tiny hole in a big tray... Kerry had separate container which was 2-3 times the size. Looks like the portion size is at least 50% more. Food quality was decent... Better than the business class meal i had with Cathay... and obviously not as good as eating at a proper restaurant... I would say it's good... i didn't think about ordering takeaways. Think overall it was just better quality and quantity.

Were the stairwells locked too? I hope they weren't in case there was a fire. Also, why not say hello to your neighbor who retrieved his meal at the same time as you? It's not like he was naked. You said he had boxers on. It doesn't cost anything to be friendly and nice to people

Very informative vlog! Do you know what are the conditions for early discharge from quarantine? Like yourself you only quarantine for 7 days instead of 14 days, how to apply for that?

during my experience, we got a pcr test on the 5th day of quarantine and if negative, you dont have to stay 14 days
