I literally just found an article online titled "Slip and Fall Injuries in the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas". It's about how u could file a lawsuit against them for negligence....
Having worked in a hotel as a housekeeper, this is definitely something that is either enforced by upper management, or reinforced by the fact that housekeepers see weird stuff all the time. My first week on the job, an elderly woman died in one of the rooms and as soon as the paramedics came to pick her body up, my manager told us to go clean the room so they could put another quest in the room. Less than 8 hours after she had died, we had a new guest sleeping in the room. Granted there's protocol for furniture and stuff, so we brought a new mattress down, BUT STILL! Don't blame housekeepers! Blame greedy money hungry hotel managers!
I worked as a hotel housekeeper after high school, and one time the maintenance man calls me and is like dude , come to this room, i just want to make sure im not crazy. So i head up there , and hes with 2 other maids just staring into the room. There was so much blood in the room, like someone either came into the world or left it in that bed . The manager sees it , says damn that bed bug cover works really well, theres nothing on that mattress at all. Then tells us clean it up by lunch, and a couple with their baby is checked in before my shift ends. It was weird.
Yes blame the greedy greedy hotel owners who make sure you have a job. You do know if they didn’t keep those rooms full they would close the doors and you’d be out of work right? Maybe you should be a little bit more grateful to your employers.
Aqua Wolfy do you know many people die in hotel rooms? The hotel needs to make money on that room. What were they supposed to do just leave it empty not making any money therefore not being able to pay the original poster? Do you guys not realize how expensive running a hotel is? One room not having someone in it could be the difference between keeping the doors open or not.
This same thing happened to me when I split my head open. The nurse at urgent hair thought my hair was colored red. I’m actually blonde. I ended up needing some stitches.
In color guard I bled all over myself multiple times due to various incidents over the years (only head once) and my director always told me that at least now we know that I would look bomb with right red hair 😂
Hey there! I'm a paralegal at a personal injury law firm in Florida. Your "Theory" of them putting the mat down after you fell to "cover up" or make it seem like it was already there, etc. Is PRECISELY what they were doing. Larger companies like hospitals, hotels, resturants and whatnot have coverage called "Premises Liability" that is specifically for these kinds of incidents. Often times if they have unorthodox or unsafe procedures / structures and someone gets hurt, the insured entity will try to retroactively "cover up" the incident by remedying the problem in some way after the accident happened. In this case, they KNOW the floors are slippery, they KNOW you fell, so they cleaned the mess and put down a bath mat to essentially "Make everything okay". It's very common practice and just a form of a super shady attempt at self preservation on behalf of the hotel. The hotel is technically liable for having such dangerous and slippery floors without mats or other protection - What happened to you has potential to be a massive personal injury lawsuit. Honestly, I would look into it!
Emily W literally the entire time I watched this I could only think about how this could be a great potential personal injury suit (I work in the legal field as well). I sincerely hope she has an attorney for it.
@@bwatts2819 This was actually my FIRST EVER RU-vid comment, haha. I was practically itching during this entire video and once she started talking about the "conspiracies" I felt so compelled to tell her about all of this that I updated my profile and broke my "silence" 😂
@@thejokersharleyquinn Meh I mean, yes and no? Unless she signed a non-disclosure when she filled out her incident report (Which I highly doubt) or she was making this all up, technically no. "Defamation of Character" would really only be the most viable charge I could see them pursuing a lawsuit over, but even then her claims would have to be proven baseless and completely false in order for it to be sustained. Otherwise it's her God given right to talk about her experience in as much detail, naming names and all, as she pleases.
narrationsbyb I know you're joking but it legitimately takes a long time to fully recover from a concussion. I got my first one ever about two weeks ago. You can bet I'll be playing that card for awhile 😂
Ok so i know ypu mean this as a joke but i have pcs (post concession syndrome) and some sideaffects might not go away when i was hit in the head it was 11months ago and i still have promblems from it lmao so it is very likely but i really hope you did just Jinx Mikey 😂 omg I can't spell today I'm so sorry 🤣
Desu R omg I didn’t even know that was a thing! I was just joking, but hopefully people will understand that lol. Is that something you’ll always have or will it get better over time?
Bobby was the real MVP in this story. Mad props for looking after our zombae queen. What a gentleman. Oh and thank you Function of Beauty for sponsoring Glam and Gore. (Edit: the amount of likes from this is amazing . Thank you, also thank you for the Heart Queen Mykie.)
This reminded me of my little accident My friends dad is a photographer and we went to this farm like place and he asked me to grab this pole thing and I slipped on some mud and let me just mention I was leaning over a fence I fell forward and a spike hit my shoulder and the skin on my wrist and on my foot *it was not the same spike* This hurt like hell and we were like an hour away from the hospital so the car ride was just brutal. My mom kept the spikes and put them in a memory box so I could remembered the worst day of my life. Thanks mom.
Currently staying in the same hotel. When I checked out the bathroom I was like OMG this is the hotel Mykie almost died in. Won’t name names, but they definitely still do not have bath mats in the bathroom!!!
Haha all doctors are like that lol. I was pit under for my 2nd time -but not my first- having my jaw shoved back into place after it being dislocated. They couldn't get it back in so they sent me home and said that if it was still out the next day to come back. They put me under AGAIN when I went back the next day. After hours of waiting, I got a different doctor who knew what he was doing. Found out that it was subfluxed -looks and feels like it's out but isn't. Happens ALL the time now. And worst of all the only thing you can do is wait it out. ANYWAY dislocated jaws DO NOT require anesthesia. Doctors need to over react though because some patients under react for life threatening stuff.
abagail smith Nope, when I broke my foot, the doctor said I barley hurt it. I wasn’t crying but it was extremely swollen and painful, I went a week with a broken bone before we could go back.
Hxez Mad the er doc I went to when I rolled my car and broke my arm in 5 places was like oh you’ve only got 1 break then 2 hrs later was like oh you’ve got 3 breaks and when they did surgery on it they found 5 freaking breaks lmao they also were going to send me home and schedule surgery like a week later and finally the next day (cause I hit my head and split it open) they were like surgery is scheduled for tomorrow.
Honestly I’m fine with vomit too bc I’ve been there holding my friends’ hair lol, but SNOT will kill me. Idk what it is, but if I see it, I’m projectile vomiting everywhere
Okay the weirdest part of this entire video was that the hotel cleaned up your blood without investigating what happened. Maybe i watch too much true crime but whatcha doing unnamed hotel?!
I watched this video a while ago and head injuries have always scared me because hello it's your head. And then earlier this week I got into a car accident that wasn't severe, but I hit my head pretty hard against the headrest and sustained a concussion which has been freaking me out. Then I remembered this video and just hearing someone else's account of their concussion is so comforting.
I got a stupid tic tok ad at the beginning, and I almost skipped it. Then I thought to myself ‘hospital bills are expensive, I should watch this’😂😂😂🤷🏼♀️
I am all for a collab with Shane where you turn him into a pig. I didn’t realize that was something I wanted to see until you said it 😄 this needs to happen
When I was about five I fell on the bus coming home from school and I got a tiny cut on my eyebrow and it bled so much. Anywho now I have a matching eyebrow scar with Jason Momoa which we bonded over once at a restaurant in Des Moines.
As an interior decorator it blows my mind that anyone would put a shiny tile surface on a bathroom floor. Slick even when it’s not wet? That’s a big no no. Even if the tiles are small, the grout lines don’t add that much grip. Very dangerous. PLUS in a hotel!?!? Are you kidding me???!!! Clear disregard for their guests’. Honestly. Shiny tile never EVER goes on a horizontal plane people are actually walking on for safety reasons even in residential settings where it won’t be getting wet. Glad you’re okay. Sending prayers and good vibes toward your full recovery.
Thank you to Bobby for helping our Queen Staplehead get through a traumatic event, and for helping her and keeping her smiling through the rough aftermath! ❤️❤️ You’re the best ZomBoy ever!
My horror er story is I nearly chopped off my finger with a butter knife. Oh I also had a tooth pick go through my foot and come out the other side. Oh I’ve also gone through a trampoline and cut up my knees. And cut my foot on a nail... And... you know what I’ll stop...
the biggest thing that pisses me off about this is just the fact that its very clear that hotel did not care about you and only cared about not getting sued, hence the cleaning up the blood and the bath mat after the fact “we cant possibly be held accountable for this! I mean, look at the bathroom! its entirely clear of blood, she probably did it on something else, it was probably just an accident, with nothing to do with us. Besides, there was a bath mat in that room, and bathmats only come on request (might i mention because this TOTALLY never happens so we never NEED to put out bath mats), so clearly even after she ‘requested’ a bathmat she still fell, so it must have just been *her* clumsiness.”
She didn’t request a bath mat first off she made one herself out of a towel. Second off the picture of the bathroom was probably from before she hit her head and she gave the detail, “I lifted myself up and there was already blood on my abdomen
The hotel trying SO hard to not get sued. “Oh we never have falls here, but have a bath mat AFTER you’ve fallen and we’ve cleaned up your blood.” Also, love you and I’m super happy you’re doing better. Keep it up 🥰
When I was 8-9 years old, I decided to practice my gymnastics routine at home... on my bed... fell and hit my head on a side table. Split my head open. Didn’t feel it or say anything to my mom until about 5 minutes later when I saw blood on pillow. I was immediately rushed to the ER. Had to get 10 staples in my head. Fully awake and not numbed. Needless to say, my show and tell that week was lit. Scarred all the 3rd graders in my class. 🤘🏼
Wait I had to literally pause the video when she talked about staples. When I was younger I bumped my head on the corner of a wall, didn’t believe my parents when they said I was bleeding until I touched it. I was really young and boy those staples hurt. Doctors had to hold me down. I was like 8 or something.
Hotel be like "Well, preventing your potential death is not something we do as part of our standard service but it can be done if you ask for it" like what's up with that?!
Not to freak you out, but as someone who has worked housekeeping at a hotel I can say that they did not handle that situation in any way I have ever been told is acceptable. First of all, if you go into a room and see a shit ton of blood you're supposed to immediately contact your supervisor and depending on the situation/severity they are supposed to contact either the guest in the room or the authorities. During that time you are not allowed into the room until you are given the okay. Usually to when there's a lot of blood the room is put out of order and the guest is moved to a new room while they hire carpet/floor cleaners to come in and fix the room which can take days. Secondly, I hope the hotel approached you about an accident report and not you to them because that is their job. Hotels have to fill out accident reports for guests and workers all the time so it's on record and they can fix whatever caused the injury so it does not happen again. Thirdly, when putting a new item in a room that doesn't usually go there I was always told to leave a note. This way it prompts a more positive guest interaction which gets ratings up and eases any ager people have. I don't know what you can do with this information but the more ya know lol I hope you heal well!
ImaNinjaYarr I used to work in housekeeping at a hotel/casino and the way she was describing how they handled the situation bothered me immensely! They handle it completely wrong and unprofessional. Definitely trying to cover shit up.
Hey mykie!! You get tons of comments so probably won’t see this. On the 29th of December 2018 I fell in the bath too. I thought I heard someone at the front door and go out to inspect it. I try to climb back in the bath and I slip. I crack my head off the tiles and put my elbow through the bath. It was in my boyfriends house and they apparently don’t use bath mats 🙄. I suffered for about a month with pain in my elbow and mild headaches. I’m sorry you fell and hurt yourself but I don’t feel as silly now. For a while I genuinely thought it must’ve been me because he told me that no one ever fell in their bath and obviously there’s been some jokes made but you’ve helped me see that it wasn’t. Thank you ❤️
i literally think about this video all the time. i’ve never been super grossed out by gore or whatever but seeing her actual pictures instilled a primal fear in me of getting my head split open again. every single time i’ve hit my head since watching this i freak out, even if i only bumped it a little bit, and start feeling for blood and stuff
I would’ve asked for a room comp. You could even technically sue to cover the medical and physical therapy bills. That’s just negligent of them not to make the bath mats standard for such a polished/slippery floor.
krisisnkaos You just made me realize that as much as I’ve been to Vegas all the hotels that I’ve stayed in don’t have bath mats. We just always ask for more towels and throw them down on the floor. For the very reason of them being too damn shiny. I’ve slipped wearing just socks so I can’t imagine having wet feet on those floors
for people who like to compare their or other people's traumas to others, trauma is trauma. No matter how much worse you think you or others have it, it does not detract or invalidate how difficult or scary it is for others even when you think they have it better off. Glad you're okay mikey! that sounds super scary!
I totally agree, but I think the trauma of having your arm chopped off vs the trauma of getting knocked out or getting a concussion is pretty different
@@brookeromero315 I think the point they were making was that regardless of how intense the trauma is, you can still be affected by it and it isn't wrong to be traumatized by an experience.
STORY TIME: I once cracked my face open while mopping the floor. I feel your pain, Mykie. Quite literally. Skulls hitting a flat surface really, really hard does in fact split your skin open.
Don't think so. I mean, if they saw a woman running out of the hotel, bleeding, with her head open, a man running besides her, taking a cab, they received the call they had to leave immediately, because an emergency, they go to the room, seeing the bleeding exactly where she fell, on the bathroom, it's like you just have to add...
Or they cleaned it up because they didn’t want it to stain considering there are future guests.. not to mention the longer blood sits the harder it is to get out
When I was 8, me and my cousin went to the pool, and I taught her how to backflip in. (Idk if that’s important. But it’s there now.) Well, she did, and when she was trying to come out, she hit her head in the lip of the pool. And cracked her head open. And we almost took her to Urgent Care but some lady freaked out , so at this point, we’re al stressed out, we get to UC and she was *screaming* and I mean it. They took her back almost immediately. She ended up getting 3 staples and screamed *so loud* to the point where the building could’ve flew off its foundation. We were there for hours. Her mom, who lived about an Hour1/2 away got there and left maybe 2 hours later. One of the most traumatic experience in my life.
NOT ME,for 1,and just CAN'T BELIEVE something so terrible could happen to such a "PRETTY" lady!!!!!!!!PLEASE wear crocs or tongs or something similar next time you go to such a place ! People overcaring as much as I am CAN'T STAND seeing much less hearing about such "UTTER" misfortunes'!!!!!!
bobby actually saved her, if she stayed there long enough she could have bled to death or to unconsciousness and then no one could have found her and she would have died anyway
"The nurses look at me, they're trying to calm me down. I'm frantic. And they take me back right away! To me this is further confirmation that I'm dying." I related to that statement so much cuz I'm a very paranoid potato.
Dorothea Linnaeus sounds like she wasn’t grown up enough to call the front desk and request a bath mat upon her noticing there wasn’t one. (Legally the hotel has to provide one upon request). Chill out with telling people to sue. She wouldn’t win. The lone fact that she was aware she needed one but still put herself in that situation takes all the blame off the hotel. All she had to do is call the front desk and she could have avoided all that. Easy as that.
Sarah Wileman She would win it’s on there property if you are injured on a businesses property you can sue for the medical bills. Also I’m sure most people don’t know that hotels are required to provide you a bath mat. I’m sure they didn’t offer that at the front desk when she got there ether. It’s there fault for having slippery floors in the bathroom where they knew that the floor would get wet . Even though she knew that could happen she didn’t do it on purpose so don’t be a dick about it. Also why not tell someone that they can sue if it helps them out. I’m sure the bill for something like that is really high even if all they did was put staples in her head.
She probably wont sue because mykie is a sweet person who doesn't want to make a business suffer. I also think she should but she probably wont because it's not the type of thing she would do
