I think the collage page in my TN swap journal insert is my favourite first page out of all my journals 🥰 Don't forget to use my 20% off code EMILY20 at leuchtturm1917.ca if you're looking to stock up! Thanks again to Leuchtturm1917 for sending over these products and sponsoring the video💖
For me, to break into a new journal, there must be its number (I simply write “volume x”) and a title. I title my journals as if they are legit books, a little bit cringy and definitely way to dramatic but I love to do it. For reference I’m currently on volume 7 and it’s titled as “Queendom of chaos” like a YA fantasy book 😂
I would love to see in-depth flip through videos! I love the emphasis on not focusing on being perfect all the time! I am going through this myself since my handwriting changes often and it leaves me feeling so bad about my journal not being "uniform" enough to look good. It's really helpful to me when creators talk about not aiming for perfection because my OCD definitely makes me want to strive for perfection XD I've been trying to remind myself that perfection is a lie and getting words on the paper is much more important!!
Yesss exactly! It's much easier to create and have fun doing it when we're not aiming for perfection or beating ourselves up. I know what that's like and how it's held me back so now I try to remind myself and everyone else that perfection isn't the goal!! As a fun example, my handwriting has not improved whatsoever and I still frequently spell things wrong in my journal entries but it's all good!! We've got this. 😎 I'm so glad you find it helpful, and I'll definitely add in-depth flip through videos to my list!💖
@@notablyemily Thank you so much for responding!! I agree, it's so much nicer to let go of the perfectionist mindset, because being creative should be fun! :) Eeek!! I'll be excited to watch it in the future!!
I name my journals. Cielo is my daily journal. Sabiduría is my commonplace journal. I’m currently in Cielo 4. They feel more like my journals when I name them.
I’m about to start a new journal for the fall so this video was fun to watch. I loved seeing your old journal entries. Thanks for sharing the ideas about the prompts.
Thanks so much Belinda! 💖 Hope you find it helpful and I’m so glad you liked to see the old journal entries, I’d love to do a more in depth video on those in the future 😄
I always tell myself when I'm afraid to start a new journal that if I don't use the notebook it can't fulfill its purpose then if I have to switch gears as I use a journal I tell myself it's still searching for it's purpose/meaning I have to help the journal.... its a little unhinged but it's been working for me
Hii! Great question :) I would suggest the official Bullet Journal from Leuchtturm1917 which is very similar to my journal in this video! It has 120gsm paper which won’t show marker through the paper. Here’s the link: www.leuchtturm1917.ca/bullet-journal-edition-2-medium-a5-hardcover-206-numbered-pages-green23-dotted.html !
@@notablyemily thank you. I am really trying to work on my journaling practice as I know it helps. But right now my system and or no system is so chaotic. I just watched or video on questions to ask yourself and while so simple just never thought of it so it was very helpful - I always feel like I need one journal to write thoughts and be creative but I still need another for writing truly personal things. Which then seems like too much. 🧐 Then one for a commonplace for just quotes and information and lists.
