I watched this video 3 years ago when I started flipping cars with open title making ends meet. I thought to my self I would never be able to get my license thinking it was to difficult and be to costly. 3 years later at the age of 24 I have my dealers license plenty of inventory and a lot. Thanks to you for making this video 3 years ago, this influenced me I’ve been watching flying wheels ever since!

Im 23 years old getting ready to get into the car flipping business. Working on cars is something I love doing. Im shying away from the car dealing business because I feel it would be too much of a hassle but watching videos like this opens my mind more. You're way of going about flipping cars drive one sell the other is what I always had planned. So im glad I got to see someone use this method and to see that it works is more inspiring me to get into the business. Not as a main hussle but as a side hussle

I just got my dealer's license last week. My number one piece of advice is something he touched on as well: Don't quit your day job. Slow and steady growth is the only reliable way to do it, and you will need another source of income while the dealership is growing.
@HowToVideosUnlimited
@HowToVideosUnlimited 3 года назад
I definitely second that. I would never quit my day job. Car flipping is a good side hustle . Multiple streams of income is the name of the game. Especially when we cannot predict things like Covid-19 Global Pandemics. That mustve been a hard year for full time car dealers.

Super super great video!! I’m 15 and just bought my first vehicle. I bought it for $600 (it was wrecked, not super bad tho). I put a ton of time into it and with the parts and everything I had to buy, I’m in a little over $4,000 (money obtained by working my butt of the last few summers). I have a buyer for $6,500 and it is one of the best feelings ever!!! Thanks again for the great video!

Fascinating. Almost like looking in a mirror. My first “office” was a desk and 5 spots at a dance studio. Rent - $1200 Per year :) Also utilized credit cards at first, then paid them off every 30 days, revolving the balance for no interest. Also started by selling on eBay, guitars, used iPads, imported android tablets, then cars as an individual (owned two at a time, listed both, drove whichever one didn’t sell)

I kinda did the same thing but in the contracting/cabinet making business. Got laid off, a buddy ran a cabinet shop as foreman, they needed help. A year later the owner abandoned the business so I had built up some skill and people were looking for work to be done, I said "I'll keep going until my phone stops ringing" fast forward 10 years and here I am. I had a pretty good credit rating when I started so I was able to get a line of credit for $5000 to help with the start up. Not as good as 0% but good enough.

haha I just said to myself "that's great that you can float your money" and the next thing outta your mouth? "it's called floating your money" lol...... It's a good plan, and you were lucky you were able to flip your cars without having to dish out anything to get them in sellable condition. Your plans would go to shit if you bought a car you thought you could flip then find out it needed $2000 in repairs..... As Warren Buffet says: I account 60% of my wealth to pure luck. One bad buy and you could have been screwed.....

Awesome video. That’s pretty much how I started, I bought a salvaged vehicle, fixed it up and flipped it. Usually 1 vehicle a month or so. Saved up all the money and bought one or two more vehicles. Until I jumped in it full time to the point I bought a 9 car carrier to haul all my vehicles. I don’t do the salvage anymore only clean title but still managed to flip/move close to 50 vehicles last month. I got a video on my channel of my lil operation

@@igor4375 Hey I looked at your channel. Great content! I am thinking starting off with a wholesale license as its cheaper as I dont have to have a car lot or anything. @igor4375
@igor4375 5 лет назад
@@jparekh18 It is possible but you need to really know your stuff about the types of vehicles you want to flip. I know guys who buy the vehicle "AS IS' from the auction since they are usually cheaper( more risk involved also) and they fix them up and put them back at the auction. I also know of guys who purchase vehicles with a low rating for ex. a 1.6 rating due to the vehicle being messy inside and scratches etc. they take those and clean them up nicely detail them from the outside and throw them back at the auction and make any where from $500-1500 per vehicle. I personally deal with a wholesaler who has contracts with the surrounding Big dealerships and he buys them from the dealership and throws them at the auction and he usually turns a profit every-time. I also buy vehicles from him directly to avoid auction fees.

I’m not defending the strategy just pointing out what it’s done in the business world. Companies raise and use capital all the time by selling stocks or bonds rather than asking for loans from the banks. It’s another’s example of OPM.

Great advice. Either you control your debt or it controls you. It's much better if you control it. I know cash is a four letter word but it's not a bad one. I firmly believe if you can't pay cash for something, you can't afford it. It's not a sin to save money. Save some until you get enough to buy that first car to sell. Pay cash and you don't have to be in a hurry to sell it to the first buyer that comes along. Every business must make a profit or it's not a business. Cars are your business and you learned what you needed to know, but you didn't learn it overnight. Thanks for helping others.

Can I get any advise from you or anyone in comments.... my grandfather owned his own car dealership. He had the business since 1969. (Furniture store also, the city knocked it down to widen the lane) he then only had the dealership. Quick trip (gas station) offered to buy he kept declining. Finally he said if you don't give me what I'm asking for u are waiting your time. They finally accepted his offer. He owned the land behind it and re built his car dealership again.... so he continued his business. He also had rental property. Unfortunately he passed away in March. I decided to join iaai as a public buyer. I also searched on RU-vid for any tips for anything. In some ways u remind me of my grandfather. You are a true go getter! My hats off to u.... the 1st time i tried to bid on a few vehicles and lost the bid..... yesterday I bid on 2 salvage vehicles. Both 2015. 2015 Tahoe. 2015 Acadia Denali..... now I'm 2nd guessing myself. Did I over pay? What if it needs more repairs? Visually doesn't to appear to be bad. Not sure if underneath is where I should be concerned.... I wanted to keep one for myself and sell the other for a profit.... can anyone please help me a bit more? I can provide the vin numbers. Or can anyone suggest anything else? I pulled a carfax. Not sure how to read them that well quiet honestly.....I appreciate anyone who takes the time to read my message. Thank you in advance.

I am from southern california and want to start doing what you did. Your video is inspirational. I had some cars and sold them. I made about 3,000 dollars on two cars I sold. I do not have a Dealers licensed, but I want to know if I can buy from the Auctions without having one. About 20 years ago I bought two vehicles that were salvage and from an Auto Auction. I know a guy that had a car bodyshop and paid him $100 dollars to let me use his Dealers License. The guy actually took me to the Auction and let me pick the car I liked.

At first I felt like I was watching a video about myself, I own a small car dealership that I started with no money of my own, I had zero in the bank. I got a $3000 loan from a friend that owns a dealership. I got lot dealer license etc , and a couple $500 cars and every time I sold a car , I used the money to buy more, I now have the car dealership, 10 cars that are paid for and I moved up to a little bit nicer cars. But I usually sell $5000 and less.

How long did it take you to get your dealership? How year did you start selling cars??
@MX-CO
@MX-CO 4 года назад
@@p.capes1 Had it since April 2019. I'm not sure about other states but the dealers license was very affordable here in Minnesota, I think it was $275. But the catch is you must have a lot first that is approved by the county your in to be a car dealership. Plus Bond and insurance, but you pay for those monthly and it's not a huge amount either. The building and lot I rented and it had been a car dealership before so I knew it would be approved to be a car dealership. Pretty easy start really , my only wish is that I had more money to work with , but I'm building slowly and I don't have any loans.

That's not true at all my credit card company sends those checks to me all the time. I've had the card for over three years and I use it for big purchases here and there and then pay off. So they obviously send them so that I'll hold a balance hopefully beyond the intro period.

In Michigan, you don't even need your own building. You just need someone with commercial frontage that will agree to let you sell cars out front. I thought that was pretty weird, but really cool if you don't have the money for a building, but you'll be dipping into your profits (and possibly your wallet. As most of us know, they're not all big winners) to give whatever percentage you agreed to with the property owner!

If I were to operate a dealership, I would want to hire people who are willing to be honest and loyal to everyone but if they were to scam any of the customers, I would fire them instantly because I want everyone to get a fair price for what they are getting and also, I wouldn’t want any of the employees to hide anything from anyone

Super informative video! Totally appreciate it! Couple questions. I have been buying cars from Copart, fixing them, reselling with an average profit of 1,250-1,500 for the last year, and it’s my dream to do it legally. I’m reselling well below book value because of rebuilt titles. I would much prefer to flip clean title vehicles. 1.What kind of typical profit would you consider average? It seems like $500/750 would be awesome for clean title vehicles with minimal work 2. What auctions are your favorite to attend? I have a buddy that has a dealers license and he is taking me to adessa in the next few weeks. Keep up the good work. Awesome videos!

Solid advice... crawl before you walk... if you can't make it small than it might not be a good idea to go all in with your savings or credit and end up in a bad jam. This is how I've operated every business venture from my auto detail shop that I started at 21, urban fashion boutique that i initially started from the trunk of my car, to my private chef services which has been my career since 2013. I've been flipping cars since 2012 on the side because of my love for cars. Never flipped anything over 5k because it takes too long to find cash buyers... Except SUV's... I love finding a good deal on a third row vehicle. This is where I always wanted to gravitate and now I have enough cash and credit to make a not so scary "jump". I have a few plans to get some motivated people in buying inventory as well. Need the license first... Next step once I find a location... I have one of my old school classics and my bass boat at this small storage facility near my house that seems to have extra room so I'm going to proposition the owner of that land and ask him can I put a trailer office there and rent out more spaces

Wow 😯! I didn’t even know the secret behind 0% credit card check offers. It’s a good way to get anyone started in any flipping as long as money paid back within those terms. Doing it that way is actually better than initially get a loan from a bank because there will be interests in the end. Credit card checks fees are minimal compare to bank loans. You are a genius !! I enjoy all of your videos. I’ve learned a lot from you. Cheers 🍻!
