Your story of how your doll journey began is so heartwarming. I’m happy that you and Ethan found each other and that he supports your love of dolls. I loved baby dolls as a child and still have one from my childhood. She is 65 years old. I’ve been collecting Paradise dolls for about 4 years now.

Oh yes I finally got to hear your story in one piece! I am so thankful that a doll helped free you from a toxic relationship/marriage. I had to literally steal away under cover with my 3 daughters half across the US to get away from mine. And such a blessing you found Mr. Ethan. You never know when the correct one will show up, it is always unexpected and lovely, even if it takes years and a few false starts like mine has. Oh and I also glad you are back. Doll collecting journey? Mine probably started at age 5 when I asked for dolls, though my very first doll was a preWW2 thrifted composition baby my Omi found for me, that followed me everywhere across the ocean several times for 38 years until when she fell off a bunkbed in a freak accident and shattered on a concrete carpeted floor. My daughters and I were heartbroke. I have found her twin 7 years ago right down to her flirty eyes, so many years later. I am on my 4th collection now, the other 3 got lost in transatlantic and transcontinent moves at different stages in my life. I also collect AG dolls, my first was a tlc rescue Kirsten, I renamed her Solveig, her legs are like your Nellie, previous owner obviously didn't treat her well, so I am planning on rewigging, restringing and repainting her to AG standards, she has the softest eyelashes of the early Kirsten. I have a lot of PC and AG dolls secondhand, lately I have been buying new. I have a few Paradise Gallery toddlers. I have one reborn a Shyann (BB) I rescued, that needs a lot of work, it wasn't visible when I bought her, but her price was so low I won't mind sending her off. I am not certain I can strip her myself and the artist is no where to be found. Sigh. I collect early Barbies and some other non baby/toddler dolls as well.

I was never a doll person growing up. I was such a horse girl, and the only toys that interested me were horses! When I went to my best friend's wedding, we went on a trip to a historic town with her family and she let me hold her reborn and it was love at first touch. My husband and I had been trying to have a baby and were unsuccessful, but holding that doll was such a healing experience and I could not put her down all day! But my friend, being the BEST, bought me a reborn of my own! And now she's making me a little girl because she's absolutely incredible. 🥰

We have a common interest. When I was younger, I lived on a farm with woods behind it. I remember playing Little House on the Prairie in the back woods!

We are pretty much the same age I’m guessing, I remember the Baby Born commercials but for some reason that was one doll I never owned 😢 LOVE AG dolls, my childhood doll was Felicity! Her hair could use some work but I still love her! Thank you for sharing your struggles with us, I’m so glad you’re in a happier marriage now!

Thanks for sharing your story how you got into your reborn dolls...it's been nice following your reborn story on here ❤ My doll journey has been a long one...I have always lived baby dolls from the time I was a kid. My first reborn was back in 2013 from a family friend when I was 20. That reborn is also how I got into collecting them and into reborn myself. I have now about 28 in my collection and been reborning since Oct of 2014

I use reborn dolls as therapy 🥰 they give me a feeling of having purpose, and that someone actually needs me 😅 I’m looking for a new one right now actually 😅
