Hey Austin! Thanks for sharing this video, I loved the tips and hope to use them to better myself as I am studying for the MCAT and finishing undergrad. Good luck with rotations!
In computing, a context switch has to be performed to switch between two different processes. In a single core, single threaded CPU, only one process can be run at a time, but context switches happen so frequently and quickly that it gives of the illusion of multitasking. Context switches come with a cost of having to allocate your resources elsewhere, just as a person would have to potentially pick up their things and prepare some items for the next task. The overhead of reallocating resources can make your overall productivity inefficient. So with your example with writing down numbers and a sentence at the same time, instead of context switching, you could hire someone to write down the second line, while you write down the first. This is similar to how a multi-core processor would work! Thought it was interesting to see that what you said draws many parallels to computer science and multithreading more specifically.
Study for 55 minutes then have 5 minutes microbrews beer will definitely boost you brain cell much higher. You’re looking great kid. Study hard for I am counting on you for my old age advise. Probably another 30 years 😂
