Your notes are super cute and I'm so glad you're learning Chinese but if you are going to write the characters out for three lines like that, just look up the stroke order before you starting writing out each character! You're Chinese handwriting is actually one of the best I've ever seen from a beginner, but your stroke order is wrong (which I know you mentioned, but here's my point:) and you practiced that incorrect stroke order for 3 lines of your book! I really don't want you to feel upset to anything but I would like to suggest that if you look up the correct stroke order before you start writing it out, then you could be practicing the correct stroke order for 3 lines rather than the wrong one! And trust me, if you learn the correct stroke order, it will take you less time to write the characters (it will feel more natural) and it will also help you improve your Chinese handwriting! That's all I have to say, I'm so sorry if anything I said made you upset, I really am so happy you are studying Chinese and hope you will never give up ❤️😊

Hahah don’t worry! It doesn’t make me upset! I wanna learn and I think it’s okay to make mistakes! (04:50 ) I did exactly what you mentioned 😆 I looked up the correct stroke order, but I still forgot it! I know what you’re trying to say! It’s not worth it to write a character so many times with wrong stroke order! I can understand what you mean!😊

in my opinion, chinese is one of the hardest language to learn. big props to doing ur best. stroke order also has many "unwritten rules" so that if u learn correct stroke order for enough characters, new characters will come intuitively.

Hey! You’re really good at Chinese for a beginner, just wanted to point that out. Having grown up speaking and writing Chinese (and English) and being fully Chinese, here’s what I would recommend: You’re currently learning to write in 簡體 (simplified Chinese), but if you are planning on learning both 繁體字 and 簡體字 I would recommend starting out with 繁體 (traditional Chinese). I get that learning simplified Chinese is easier and possibly faster than learning traditional Chinese, but learning 繁體 then 簡體 rather than 簡體 first and then 繁體 would be easier. (That might’ve been really confusing, lol sorry about that,) By that, I mean learning traditional Chinese then simplified Chinese, instead of simplified Chinese first then traditional would make it easier to learn to read and write the latter version of Chinese. Do also keep this in mind: mainland China (at least mainly) uses simplified Chinese, but if you’re planning to go to places like Taiwan, Hong Kong, or Macau, learning traditional Chinese would probably be a good idea.

I learned Chinese for 3 years in high school, then college came around and it was 2 years on and off because of schedule conflicts. Now, I'm trying to maintain my Chinese skills, as well as continue to learn on my own. I've been watching Meteor Garden as well lol. Also, I've never followed the strict stroke order, and my teachers (who were both Chinese born) never really made a big deal about it. They said my handwriting was really nice, so I'm not sure if I should be following the stroke order or not. Also, for anyone in the USA, I use an app called Mango Languages, and if you have a membership with your local library, then you can have a free account with the app! I find it pretty helpful. You can learn words, phrases, and grammar points.

its more efficient and easier to write if you learn the correct stroke order. plus, the stroke order adds fluidity to your writing, so even if your characters look different from the standard ones, people will recognize the stroke order and thus be able to read your characters, even if you write them fast or sloppy,
@crunchystars5952

koo-core agreed ! When I learnt Chinese as a child, writing it in the correct order made me recognise words faster, and it makes the characters look balanced . My handwriting is more on the efficient than neat, since I go by the ‘as Long as you can read it’ thing, which isn’t really good. idk, but learning the strokes really helped me !

for book series i recommend the integrated chinese series (level 1, pt, level 1 pt 2, etc). It comes with a textbook, a workbook for practicing writing characters( details stroke order as well), as well as a workbook to practice what you learned from the textbook. there's also audio that pronounces the vocab and also reads textbook and workbook dialogue but im doing this through a university class so i think if you want to have the audio you have to buy through the publisher site directly. anyways hope this helps.

Hmm your Study methods though aesthetically pleasing - isn’t really efficient. When learning new characters in the beginning learn the most important ones writing over sample ones 10x or so. All others you should not endlessly write. This method takes forever and does not guarantee that you will remember them long term. This is how most study characters and they suffer through it and have to relearn repeatedly. What I use: flashcards - even new characters I only copy them 2x after that I just see the pinyin side of the card and try to write it down - than if successful Put it into the green pile - if not back to the end of the deck and with a red pen I correct my mistakes on the written character + rewrite the character with a red pen correctly 1x. In the second round the correct hanzi goes to the blue pile and after that correct hanzi goes into the red pile. I review the red pile later that day/ in the next card pile I do that day, the blue pile the next day and the green pile either the next day or 2 days later. - This is like ANKI but paper based. (Because I only write them down 1x/2x a time I can keep reviewing and the periods of review keep getting longer and longer until they became part of your long term memory and you can easily recall.) I realized when doing anki that rewriting and copying doesn’t help memorising - only helps in writing nice hanzi so when I struggle to write a character or it’s very ugly I use grey printed practice sheets to write over the hanzi to have the correct way. But it is not to memorise ! It is to have an aesthetic handwriting !

I guess this (her method) method might become boring for her in the future. I mean her handwriting is amazing but it takes a lot of time to practice one character. I had been learning Chinese for 1,5 years, so I can say that the first important thing that I learnt was the order of writing. Once I knew the order, it wasn’t a problem to memorize and write words and texts.
@szilvianagy2410
@szilvianagy2410 4 года назад
@@defnotadel I wouldn't say it's not working, I would only say that it's not efficient. The two things are different. You have to practice 10x if not more to achieve the same results as with active recall and that is scientifically proven.

There's a basic rule in learning strokes in which a certain kind of stroke comes first before the other (e.g. heng which is the horizontal line comes first before the shu or the vertical line). You can look this up on Google. It's really helpful instead of learning the sequences for all characters. Also, it's very very important in writing correctly esp. in calligraphy. Try to master it so your muscle memory won't get used to your current practice.

As a chinese, I must say it can be hard to learn chinese! But don't worry, Chinese people don't know to write as many words as you think, we still have loAds of words we don't know how to write, even if we know how to read it. Simple words like 鼻 (bi2, 鼻子 -nose) yea, some of us still forget it. I just realised how the translations are a lil off sometimes, and there are like random traditional characters in your book? Idk if it's supposed to be there but just so you know! I wish you all the best!

Girl it’s okay, I show symptoms of adhd it runs in my family 😆 but I’m learning Spanish, French, and Chinese all at the same time. I study each language for 30 minutes a day and what keeps me focus is putting my phone in a different room, grab my computer and play music of my target language. Buying books on how to pronounce it and writing it is the best(this is for Chinese) It isn’t impossible to do, just think of it as playing 3 different sports, you play sports that are similar to each other and you practice everyday, you get better. Languages are the same thing you practice everyday for how long as you want and the results will start to show! I believe you, taking breaks is the best thing when you’re mind is going somewhere else. I struggle too. I think of like 5 things while learning my target language 😂 you got this! Stay motivated and have a schedule that works best for you!! Good luck ✨✨

Better to learn french or Chinese instead Spanish and french because they will mix up with each other and confuse you

tip- don't try to learn both traditional chinese and simplified chinese at the same time, and since it's hard for u to remember the stroke order, i recommend simplified chinese as traditional chinese is only mostly used in china or taiwan

@oklishA
@oklishA 3 года назад
@@aestheticworld1660 hi I’m Chinese and I can help you with some learning tips : 1) Learn the tones of Chinese ( RU-vid helps) and try to pronounce them correctly. Try to say random words and Practise the tones everyday. 2) Learn some basic phrases like 我喜欢看书( I like to read books) on RU-vid as well 3) Practise stroke orders and make sure you get a paper beside you to practice along the way as you learn. 4) make sure you know 我(I/ me) 她( her/ she) 他(he/him) 5) The grammar in Chinese is really simple . As you can see , I like to read books in Chinese : I : 我 Like: 喜欢 to : ( no word as Chinese doesn’t have a particle for this) Read : 看 Books : 书 And together you have 我喜欢看书 (wo xi huan Kan Shu ) but make sure to read it with tones. Wishing you luck on learning Chinese !! 加油你可以的!you can do this !

As a Chinese, for stroke patterns, I don't really pay much attention to it. As long it looks house it should look and is legible, it doesn't really matter how you write it. As long as it's comfortable to you I guess. I think it's because I have to write essays and I don't have time to care about the strokes. Good luck tho💕😙 You can do itt😝

This video really chills me. Opening pack voice is an another satisfying thing. Also, it really amazed me you're learning so many languages in one time. I am learning also 3 languages at the same time and my family calls me crazy because of this. I also used the same apps with you but Duolingo feels me like I am in a competition so I deleted it. Anyways, have a good study. Don't worry about your character writing. You're going a very good job.🌸
