I breakdown each step of my study routine in CRNA school in this video! These study techniques have proven to give me As and Bs on my doctoral level exams. Graduate school requires a higher level of studying and understanding concepts. I hope this video helps anyone studying soon!

Im currently in the 2nd semester of my CRNA program and Notability is by far the greatest note taking app I have ever used. Group studying is essential even if you’re not talking to eachother. The aspect of parallel play really helps push me through long hours of studying.

Thank you so much for your tips! I am graduating NP school, and yes I have moved all pp noted TO word documents and I included notes as I read from textbooks...at the end, each systems had like 20-30 pages of notes. I then highlighted the most IMPORTANT facts instructors are looking for in terms of testing, and then I repeatedly reading over the highlighted notes and so referring the unhighlighted portions if I forgot the patho or the reason why some meds were prescribed. will try making questions on notion tho

Does your program mostly test on random things from your textbooks that were never discussed in lecture? I’m in my second semester, I just had my first exam, and the PowerPoints/ lectures were not that helpful. They basically expect us to memorize the textbooks for exams. I’ve been a 4.0 student since undergrad, but now I’m struggling to figure out how to study/learn everything from the textbooks to do well on my exams, especially with the limited time I have to study. I don’t learn well from just reading textbooks, and at this point I’m practically teaching myself everything from the textbook :(. What do you recommend?

Hi friend! We've had different professors for our classes who all made exam questions their own way. I had to tweak my study techniques depending on that professor. It really is frustrating and I've had to read the textbooks thoroughly for some classes in order to do well in them. I've heard people use a test summarizer such as PopAi for text, although I've never used it so I can't say how well it works. What worked for me the best was the combo of making my own summarized study guide on a word/google doc & making questions. I blended the lectures and textbook info combined with apex to really learn the concepts. It's time-consuming but it's gotten me the best outcomes. I wish you best of luck and I know you will get through didactics♥

Is it like, memorize the whole chapter(s), and then questions will be on random things within said chapters?
@sadesade111
@sadesade111 Месяц назад
@@SRNAPaul thank you. I’ll try your suggestions🙏. This class has two professors and my second professor tests more on our understanding concepts and clinical application, so I was able to get A+ in my 2nd and 3rd exams. Just prepping for finals now, which is cumulative🤞.
@sadesade111
@sadesade111 Месяц назад
@@walterclements2877some professors take random one liners from the textbook. Often it’s stuff that students might not focus on as much because it doesn’t seem as important, but that’s the sort of thing that will be on the exam. The most random, unimportant fact from a tiny image/chart/paragraph on one of the hundreds of pages of assigned readings. Thankfully not every professor tests in this manner.

Can you please share how you make questions from notes to quiz yourself ? Does notion app draw questions from your notes? Or you actually have to write down questions on the paper?
@SRNAPaul

I will make a video on how I use notion! No, it doesn’t draw up questions. I make my own based on the lecture. I’ve heard that chatgpt is able to generate questions if you plug in your lecture but the answers may not always be accurate

Is there an app or practices book for practice questions for crna exams like nursing school
@SRNAPaul

We use Apex! It's required for our program and we use it every semester. It has modules and practice exams in it. Other than that, I don't know of any other resources for practice questions.

I want to become a travel nurse in the future just wanted to ask about the licenses do i need a license for every state and how does it work? is it a test or just experience based? also how did you become a travel nurse
@SRNAPaul
@SRNAPaul Год назад
There is a compact license that covers 37 states that you would be licensed in. You take the NCLEX and make sure you pick compact when they ask for what type of license you want. States such as California, Washington, Oregon, Hawaii, and NY are NOT compact. You have to apply to them individually. If you already have a pre-existing compact license, you can apply for those states by endorsement and it typically takes a couple of weeks to get that state's license. The NCLEX is the only test you need to obtain your initial license. Then you can apply to whichever other state you wan to work in. Travel nursing agency contracts usually require experience depending on the unit you'll be working in. The contracts will specify how much experience they want. New grads are usually not able to get contracts due to their lack of experience. I became a travel nurse after 1.5 years of being an ICU nurse. I just applied to travel nurse agencies and picked a contract. I have other videos on travel nursing on my channel if you'd like to check them out! :)

@@SRNAPaul thank you a lot but one thing that discourages me is people always talking about how stressful and mentally challenging it is, is it really like that?
@SRNAPaul
@SRNAPaul Год назад
@@AngelAlbino-jo8lj It is. You need to have a good support system and an ideal study environment in order to perform your best in school. I would ged rid of extra stressors you have in your life before committing to a program. It is temporary, so that gets us through the challenging times.

Hi!! I’m coming from your TikTok! I love your content! I got accepted to your same program for 2024, and plan to start! I recently heard some rumors about concerns for accreditation being watched closely for the next few years and potentially “evoked”. And I’m concerned about starting in 2024 and knowing if I will graduate from an accredited school! Do you know anything about these concerns or have any advice? Thanks so much!!🫶

I try to make the questions as simple as possible. For example, the lecture slide will talk about a medication - I can make questions from that slide such as 1. Which receptor does this med work on? 2. What electrolyte imbalance would you see with this med? 3. What is the dose range for this med? & I do that for every slide until every topic is covered & I use those questions to review over & over before an exam. I hope that helps! But I’m definitely making a video on it
