With the opaque lid that could be bottom tray, with the transparent bottom flipped to be the lid ❤ I use soil blocks and this way works great

Do you have to supplement water using the soil block method or is the rain/snow enough? I haven't had to water my jugs at all this year

@@rosa.athome I do have to water them, especially now that I've moved them to part sun & take the lids off daily.

Good timing on the vid, I have quite a few of the seeds you put in, though not as many varieties! I think I will do as you do, and winter sow in the bin! Looking forward to part 2.

That's awesome! It will be interesting to see if there are any differences in our experience with the different types of seed 😊

I love your staright forward method for planting seeds. Great tip on adding additional information to the tags ahead of time. That is so helpful! Thank you.

Great idea 🌱👍 We don't have those milk 🍼 jugs here as well.

We used to have them here when I was a kid but now our milk comes in bags (which everyone outside of Canada finds weird!)

I do both jugs and flats depending how how many varieties and the space required. I have great luck with both methods. I work with native plants so the seeds are really hardy.

I'm sowing more this weekend including quite a few natives - just hope they get enough cold as our winter has been so mild this year!

Thanks for sharing! I pretty much experienced the same the past few years winter sowing and I think I will try your method. Looking forward to seeing part 2!

Thank you! I always feel that experimenting is one of the best parts of gardening, even with the occasional flops 😊

Oh no! Each year in the garden is different and some are worse than others (I've had my share of horrible years, that's for sure!) I usually try something at least a couple of times before calling it quits, just in case.

If any Europeans are confused about bachelor buttons, a name we don’t use, it’s a cornflower.

Thank you for the clarification! I do try to use the botanical name most times for that very reason but sometimes I do forget.
