LS Swap 3rd gen Camaro, I go through each system of the LS3 / T56 swap conversion including: motor mounts, kmember, oil pan, front accessories, coils, A/C, Fuel, wiring, radiator and fans, T56, exhaust, stock gauges, dbw pedal
Incredible build! Human capabilities in their garages are totally ridiculous these days. I have a green 92 stroked 383 and chromed out. Tubular everything cept the K-bracing. 🤙🏼 Youre makin' me seriously think about doing as LS-swap. Also Im jealous that you still have AC...! I ditched mine haha! Good work brother. Beautiful Bonemaro!
Thanks Nicholas! Yeah this was my first swap and I just researched and saved parts fir a year, then went for it! That 92 sounds killer! Yeah the plan was make it like GM would do it today. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I went from the 305 auto to a 383 stroker with a T55. Now going to LS1 with T56. I needed this video to get me inspired again as I lost interest. Thank you for a good video. ☕
Dude!!! That car is absolutely gorgeous. My first car was an 85 Z28 305 TPI T-Top. I want to get another one and set it up similar to yours. Very nice.
this been my dream car since i was a kid i was born in 1992 and this model my favorite . id want one just like it to cruise down miami beach . such a beautiful car .
@@FireballMullet i know but you honestly did a amazing job. My respect on your swap. Gonna start my budget build compared to yours. And took me a while to get everything ! Amazing ride!!! Maybe my second attempt im at your level!
@@TheTortugitaTURBO good luck man! Yeah that’s what I did, saved parts for about 8 months then started it. Just pick a car similar budget and setup and model after theirs. It’s straight forward but there are a ton of variables.
Woohoo 600th subscriber! I'm working towards a similar project for 2022...I want to get an LSA ZL1 engine and tranny and all that comes with it in a 3rd gen. I will have the funds then to spend up to $30k ...love your car man!
@@FireballMullet My vette was parked right beside that c8 you filmed but I got there AFTER you made your video round. I'll introduce myself next time I see your car. It would be fun to ride in both and see how they compare chassis wise.
@@FireballMullet really enjoyed your video. I never really thought about a 3rd gen camaro but after seeing your car its definitely a possibility. Thanks again!
Thank you for the tips, I’m currently working on installing an LQ9 in my 3rd Gen Firebird. I got a hold of a 4 th gen fuel tank. Still on the fence on using it. Also I have the factory digital gauges, I hope I can get them to work with the LS swap.
4th gen tank Has a fuel bucket that gets rid of fuel starvation around corners, has EFI quick connect hose ends to sender and trap door is smaller lol, you’ll need a 0-90 Herko fuel level sender (4th gen reads higher ohms) bolts right in, also uses rubber fill tube instead of the stupid 3rd gen metal fill neck so dropping tank is easy. Plastic won’t get crusty like metal tanks, A few more reasons if you were LS swapping but those are the major points... don’t get 98 that 4th gen is metal and sucks , 99-02 only
@@FireballMullet I don't know how you thought about this but great stuff man please keep feeding the content and videos glad I subscribe. No one else is putting out information like this. It helps keep the the law for a 3rd gen going.
Thanks, Ryan… I definitely improved the video editing since this one. Between RU-vid not liking music I used and some after upload editing it got chopped up. Thanks for watching.
Excellent video, nice build. Curious why you wouldn't want to just get your hand on a later model cluster to put in so you can just use the Dakota box for the speedo instead of using the older cable speedo.
Your car is screaming for a set of Trac- Spec hood vents that replace the factory fake ones, that will be the best money you'll ever spend ,they look so awesome and cool the engine compartment at the same time
I just bought and 86 Iroc Z 5.0 TPI would love to know what it cost … I’m leaning to a 383 Stroker but would love and LS Swap .. Absolutely Beautiful Job beautiful car
NIce swap man helped understand so much of what I need to do. Is there any chance you could detail or show what trim you had to do to the AC fan box on the firewall?
@@FireballMullet Thanks again for the video (2 years later lol). I've used your A/C setup as a guide for mine. Quick Question: The Trinary switch I have (from ColdHose in Ocala) is set for High opening at 377 PSIG closes at 369 PSIG. This seems awful high to control the Compressor on/off cycle by itself.. (Mine is just staying on even though the low side is in range to cycle). Did you end up adding a Low Side 3rd gen switch or does your cycle at a different high side pressure? Thanks in advance!
Great video, what is the link for the Herco sending unit? i have a 1987 Iroc 305 TPI, i changed out the fuel pump and sending unit now the gauge shows 3/4 then full of fuel.
So i ground down the U on the clamshells. Installed the ict billet plates as the directions say and am trying to bolt the clamshells onto the plates. Also have a ls3... the passanger side lower bolt cant sit flat because the block webbing is in the way, the drivers side the top rear bolt is the same way. Did you run into this? I have the 334971 clamshell on pass and 14039436 on drivers as it should be
How quickly u actually get a swap done mostly depend on your budget. Each week . If u r like me. And how much time u have off work. And away from your phone. Wife. Kids. Dog. Or any distractions. My budget build has become very pricey. And it's been a year and I'm still not driving yet. But it was still worth it!
If you don't mind me asking how much did this ls swap cost you? I just finally got me a 3rd gen and saving up for a ls swap now. I would really like to have a ball park how much this would cost. Nice work by the way car looks amazing!
Great video! I'm in the process of sorting out the cooling system on my 83 LS swap am looking for a fan solution. What year of Intrepid fans did you use?
@@FireballMullet Thanks for the quick reply and tips on what to look out for. I have a Proform PWM dual fan controller that I plan on using so I am not to worried about the relays but I will still definitely get the HO model.
I have an 86 IROC town apart in my garage with an LS1 ready to transplant. I am still unclear about how to feed fuel to it. If I use a Warlbro in-line what happens at the tank? Will the new pump draw fuel through the existing pump? I just don’t know exactly how to set this up.
Unless your front accessory brackets make it that way .but fbody accessories the power steering pump is up top and alternator is on the bottom.. maybe it has to do with preparing for blower?
Exactly,,, at what cost and how much time and aggravation. That is the bottom line. I got a price to change my 2.73 peg leg rear end into a 3.73 posi but it was over 2K... no thanks.
UMI mostly aftermarket suspension, 4 piston Brembos, 295/35/18 rear amd 255/40/18 fronts. It has Eibach Sportlines lowering springs which look great but I hate the ride for a street car
