Finally found the actual video about taking notes with laptop 😂 Everyone's just posting videos with taking notes on iPad. Also, so impressed how much effort you put into studying, it's so motivating for me 💖
Omg! I never knew about Office Lens. My hands have literally been cramping from taking notes on hundreds of pages of reading. Even when you’re trying to be efficient about it, personally, I like to have a lot of detail, especially on new topics. You just saved me so much time & pain telling us about this wonderful app. Thank you!!! ❤️
This video was definitely helpful. I’m still trying to choose a go to method but I’ll obviously use multiple methods as well. This year I will be taking 4 classes. I also take orchestra and two related arts classes(P.E, health, etc)
I’m currently a SHS student (Gr. 11) and I only have 9 subjects. Well if you didn’t know, the system here in PH is that grades 7-10 is the Junior Highschool and grades 11-12 are the SHS. It was supposed to be first day today but it got suspended due to bad weather. It was nice watching your videos instead! I just discovered you days ago and I’m loving it! ♡
this is super helpful because i’ve been deciding between digital and handwritten notes when i go to uni in september and i’m thinking about hand writing in lectures and like you, writing on my laptop from my textbook!
I use the Excel to take notes. I read the text book, understand and comprehend it and write it in bullet points and flow charts. I use a combination of bold, italics and underline along with font colours of red, green and blue and use fill colour for highlighting. When I am totally done with it, I export it to pdf and read it in my ipad/phone. I don't fancy copy pasting textbooks because there is no value addition. On the contrary, when I take my laptop for seminars, I take down only relevant points, which would mean that I have to comprehend and note down in real time, which in the long run has made me more efficient. But I have not done away with physical notes. They are very dear to me. It is time consuming, but I find that the most complicated topics are best understood in one's own handwriting.
Wow!! I graduated from High School in 2014! I wish I had these new tech back then it would have saved me so much time and made my life much easier. Kids today are so lucky and it keeps getting more accessible and easier to access these! Wow I can only imagine what new tech and software they will have available in 5 years.
It depends. Some kids like my own kid can't learn well with digital note-taking. Paper and pencil is still the best method for some people for them to integrate and absorb information.
I use Google Docs for all my note taking and the microphone is soooo convenient. For when I have to take a math class, I used OneNote and did basically all my problems in the app. Just make sure you have a good stylist for whatever tablet you use because a cheap 1 will annoy you. Another thing I like to do is when I don’t feel like reading my text book (I always get digital), I use a text reading extension on chrome so I can have text read to me.
Ellen Kelleys videos are amazing and simple it doesn't have many disturbance during the video and she even encourages me to study every day and make it a habit since I am in high school
I'm 51 Minutes late! Sadly my school doesn't allow Computers, IPads, phones or laptops. So I have to hand write my notes however I would rewrite my notes from my notebook to my computer when I get back hom, although if I had a lot of time I would rewrite it with good handwriting so I would know it without opening my laptop or phone. Or I don't have to do any of those things because our teacher usually writes notes the day before she learns us what we are going to study and prints them. Anyway I just said a story wasn't expecting that but ok lol love your content :D
Since seeing your video yesterday, my note-taking has gone through the roof and has really helped me in my readings for my MA. Thank you for your valuable knowledge!
This is too fucking nerdy and pointless. Just study 1-3 days before exam. All this freakin garbage, typing, scanning, settings, wtf man. Nerd level 9000
I feel as a university student, that we should get the base MBP. Yes it cost a lot up front, but since everything is now hybrid courses, the more powerful MBP will last you longer. I find a lot of students starting out with the air, then upgrading to the 13" MBP.
I'm taking four college classes this semester starting Tuesday. Very thankful I'm not taking five like I did the last few semesters. Thanks for the video. I will have to try out Microsoft Office Lens. Never heard of it before and can't wait to try it out!
Very Good Ellen I loved this video This year we have compulsory things like two languages and I took extra four subjects: Maths, PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) HCG (History, Civics, Geography) and Computer Programming in Java. That's it!
Unfortunately, our school doesn't allow technology. Sad that I can't do all these. Btw, I felt that the way of writing our notes on our tablet is nice...
I got the MacBook Air in 2016, still works great. Battery life dies a lot faster but still get a long time of use. Spilled water on the whole keyboard and trackpad. Put it upside down in the shade outside and tada good as new!!
Mam very helpful vedio for making notes and the important tip to use Microsoft lens app and Microsoft word app and copy and paste to onenote is very helpful it saved my time Thanks
I’m really a big fan of watching your videos, we are proud of you , despite English isn’t my mother tongue, I watch your videos , well I speak Arabic☺️ ❤️ you really have an attractive channel ,love u 💐you are my motivation you are the world for me 🥰🥰
These things are difficult to implement for an engineering student where you have to draw diagrams simplifying a problem. And for making these type of notes on a laptop, you should be fast in typing basically type without seeing keyboard. For me pen and paper can't never be replaced for taking notes as I remember and understand way more when I write/scribble something down instead of typing.
Pinak Bhusan Mohapatra for instanced like that. I’d recommend an iPad with the apple pen. That way you can still type or write your notes on a screen while still being able to draw diagrams, examples, etc. Now the apple pen is a bit pricey so I’d recommend what I did and bought a “knockoff” version of it made by another company. I made sure it was universal and checked out reviews about it. I also bought a used iPad since I can’t afford a brand new one. Furthermore I went on RU-vid to find apps and guidance on how I could get started on trading in paper and pencil and starting to go digital. (Basically a paperless student) After doing so I have freed space in my backpack, it’s easy to go back and look at my notes, my backpack feels far less heavy, and I don’t spend money on notebooks every term or worry about it falling apart in a couple of months.
@@UyenNguyen-yl3iz most Indian schools don't allow laptops and other electronics... so we get so used to writing that typing ends up feeling uncomfortable
I love how you take your notes 📝❤️ I was so curious what the app u used was called but now I know thanks!! 💜 I’m going to take 5 classes Awesome job on your videos keep it up🤗🤗
i ma really a big fan of yours whenever i got procastinated i always watch your videos and get productive and motivated in my studies, thank u for giving those useful videos to us....
Importing texts and than editing it is genius hack , however instead of copying and then deleting , i just copy only important things. Honestly, i think this is the best note taking system especially because we have multiple textbooks and handouts for most of subjects
whenever i m talking my notes on computer or laptop , my mom says to me why are wasting ur time on typing it ,direct learn it ....hahaha lol but anyways thankyou so much for ur wonderful tips on taking notes .Now this year i will definetly takes my notes digitally ....love ya ;)
I am not a student, but I have a lot of free time, so I spend it learning languages and design. I could not find the good note taking app for Windows. I have an ipad but it was so uncomfortable for me even if I have an apple pencil. Thanks for this video! It really has saved my learning process:)
I’m taking 3 classes this year; chemistry 112, physics 111, and math 191 (calculus 1) for a total of 12 credits. Also just subbed with notifications on!😁👍
So clean & managed desk...everything peaceful😇 I think that's the speciality😍of your videos...that just motivates me😊 Although I might not use the tips(as we don't use laptops for note taking & it's not allowed in school) I find it inspiring every time I watch your videos!!
