Just a quick demonstration on how I throw my 10ft chain bottom, top pocket cast net from Daves Cast Nets (Orange Rope Club) I am no pro, but this is just what I prefer for quick throws.
Hey there, just wanted to say THANK YOU for this video. I recently got a chain weighted 8' net and I've tried 8 different techniques. This is the only one that works for me. I haven't made a perfect pancake but will keep practicing. I believe that was a chain weight used in this video, for some reason my traditional technique does not work with the chain weight. Thank you again!
Thank you!! I've been looking for a good example of how the net is held onto until the last moment with your left hand. You show it perfectly. Nice throw demo.
Scott make sure you're loading palm to thumb both with your line but also your net. With a five footer load it so that instead of grabbing it right at the horn and then further down. Just grab it halfway down.
I was talking Townsville :) We would get them just when hitting the herring and mullet schools. So many we did not need to target them. Every cast had either bait prawns or eaters. I mean, if there was a school of them popping the surface... I am in Canberra now, carp are my main target these days. And redfin, yellowbelly and cod.
NEW SUBSCRIBER HERE !!!!! Great stuff. Videos like yours show the reality of fishing. The real grind an angler goes through learning how to throw a bait net Keep up the good work and check out my channel & latest videos too, Thanks & Tight Lines, USCG Captain Scott Manning, US Army - Veteran
