I can't get enough of your videos...such a bounty of history and knowledge mixed in with the greatest sense of humor. i know I've said it before, but I am taken back to a time I was sitting around the table with all the older folks taking in every story and memory they shared. I'm always smiling when I watch your videos. They bring me comfort.

You ain’t a hundred years too late, you’re just forgetting that the best things take time!! I never thought at my age I’d be learning how to tie my boots but I am going to have to try this. I have one really old pair that’s my favorites but the string always seems to slip loose on the right one so I’ll have to see if this method stops that from happening. I’m glad you shared this! Bill was impressive in lots of ways it sounds like. He musta been tough but I love that his mind was so sharp to think of so many ways to adapt to his circumstances plus they didn’t slow him down any!! I can’t imagine hooking overalls one handed, let alone working a saw and tiller or carrying wood that way! He musta been something to see in action! Look how stinkin cute little Justin was!! With no face fuzzies, you can sure see how much Charlotte resembles her daddy! 😊

I grew up also with a neighbor who had lost the lower part of one of his arms. He farmed for a living. He never thought of himself as disabled. I was amazed how he always figured out a way to do what he needed to. Where there's a will there's a way.

I have to watch your videos because like myself, I never know what is going to come out of my mouth 😂

I understand what you mean when you said you was born 100 years too late. I have a hard time relating to the younger people today. I have always been around older people and listened to them. When I was about 16 I worked with a fellow a little older than me with his left hand missing. I never asked why, and I'm not sure he was aware that it was gone. He could do anything anyone else could. LOL

Saves money on strings as well. Missing the eyes keeps boots from pinching. Good idea.

My boy could never get the shoe tieing down. He made up his own way. When he went to boot camp his sgts just shook their head at him. It worked. They stayed tied.
