I really like Notion and it's fantastic for organizing, but I found myself too stressed trying to make it look perfect because some functionalities are harder to make look super great as I wanted them to. Right now, I have decided upon Google Calendar but for sure, I will come back to Notion whenever I will feel like I need more than just tasks and events. Wow so many likes. I mean, I'm happy that I'm not the only one that experiences this. Maybe Notion can do something about it.
for me, I actually need to jump into the messy notetaking in only a few master pages. This is the adaptation process After I began to warm up in the mess, I start to find templates and people's showcases online. Honestly its a whole rabbit hole. It took me quite some time to tidy it up but it doesnt have to be perfect. As long as you have the dashboard and parent pages tidy, you're actually pretty good to go. Even now, when I use my notion regularly and be satisfied with it, I still have a few sub-parent pages in progress. Usually these are the lesser important pages like gaming pages or medicine list (uh oops i know this is important but i promise i'll get around it soon). The point is, you can keep tidying up as you go. Be patient and work on it slowly. Just... as we all most likely guilty of, try to not obsess over the setting-up-notion too much
simple solution, embrace the chaos. at the end of the day, its a productivity tool, not an aesthetic workplace. if its taking time away from working, dont use it
I was stuck in the same dilemma - staring at a blank canvas and feeling completely overwhelmed. But what helped me was "duplicating" someone's template they offered up to the public. It was a whole dashboard with all the pages already set up. One by one, I'm going in and adjusting them to my liking but it has really helped me figure out step by step what to do. I dedicated a whole Saturday to doing this and it has really helped. I can see how Notion is really going to help me gather my ideas and goals and keep me organized, rather than all the random sticky notes all over my monitor.

I made a Notion account, but haven't touched it in a while because I kinda found it overwhelming and never really clicked with any of the template videos I watched, but this is really getting me to want to try again. I have a absolute monkey brain that has trouble staying motivated to do pretty much anything that I haven't already made a habit, but those progress bars gave me saratonin just looking at them
I applaud you for having those standards! I am 29, have been through many relationships I could have avoided had I had the standards I do now. Now, at this age, I have written them down as well but in my therapy journal. ☺I'm proud of it. I don't think it's anything to be ashamed of.
for anyone like me who needed the formula for this revision system at 9:45, here’s the formula i used :D (it looks and works exactly the same as described in the video, but it may not be exactly what he used): *i also added a function whereby if the ‘last revised’ date is set to your current day, it would show "🔥 Keep it up!". you can also edit what each status would show to your liking :) if(formatDate(now(), "L") == formatDate(prop("Last Revised"), "L"), "🔥 Keep it up!", if(dateBetween(now(), prop("Last Revised"), "days") < 5, "📕 Revised", if(dateBetween(now(), prop("Last Revised"), "days") > 4, "❗️Needs Revision", "❌ Not yet started"))) *if the error shown is ‘Property not found: prop(Last Revised)’, it’s because the name of your last revised date property is not called ‘Last Revised’ if that makes sense 😓 you can just edit the formula by changing “Last Revised” into the name you set, e.g. “Date” sorry for such a long comment, i hope this helps :))))
My goal is to be as organized as you are, I use Notion and it helps me a lot with my organization in school, it helps me stay in track with what I should do, but I honestly would love to be as organized as you are

Dasung monitor, as a general novelty, is probably not the best solution for all tasks. If, however, you do have specific needs that can be addressed with a monochrome, paper-like screen, then this one is the best. Unbelievable refresh speed and display effect. It also does perform well with the technology it's using.
