I'm totally going to try this method! I hate the irritation and tediousness of soaking off with acetone, but peel off base on my bare nails topped with dip or gel releases the peelies too quickly... this sounds like a great alternative option. Thank you!
I'm a new girl and you explained everything SOOOOO CLEARLY!!!!! Thank you! I'll have you on my laptop when my first REVEL order arrives!! And I just ordered my UNT from your link!
Hi! I’ve followed two other videos directions on ünt application and had poor and okay success...yet it’s still a struggle! Your directions make more sense to me and I look forward to trying this method right after I send this comment! Thank you for the concise ( and not super chatty!) video. Not everyone has time to watch a 40 min plus video to learn something, so I appreciate you being clear and concise and to-the-point! I’ll be subscribing now!
There is a video on here where they put cuticle oil all over nail....peeled off with orange stick. Also try lemon essential oil. It helps eat away. So much easier for removal. Also good for your nail.
It’s actually not possible to to get contact dermatitis from acetone, but you can get contact dermatitis from the chemicals that break down when using acetone (i.e., the chemicals in the liquids you are using for dip powder, or the dip powder itself). You can read more here: www.nailcarehq.com/allergic-to-pure-acetone/ If you bite or pick at the skin around your nails, it’s likely that the the chemicals have an entry point for irritation to occur. Irritation can also happen if you are continuously getting any of the liquids on your cuticle. You might want to try switching to gel liquids, and using a cuticle pusher scoop to pour the acrylic on your nail, instead of dipping your nail. When you dip, the liquids you use move as you put your finger in the tub of acrylic, and likely end up around your cuticle in small amounts. Same with soaking, if you have broken skin, that skin has entry points for whatever dip liquid is breaking down in the acetone. Avoiding soaking the dip powder off and pouring dip on in application may help that problem (and make for a more flawless application). If you have to soak off, try applying a thin layer of Vaseline or Aquaphor to your skin around the nail first. And make sure you sanitizing you tools between manis! I hope this helps you ✌🏾
I change my nails often to keep my nails healthy I put two layers of clear dip then activate the the peel off base then yo can put poly gel gel or acrylic and it easily comes of my nails leaving my nails healthy underneath! 🌈🌈🌈
Ok I love UNT! Sparkle wasn't allowing my dip to come off at all. Thanks for the tutorial! Miss you, lady.😭 I hope Miranda N. passed my message along.💜
Love your channel, I’m a nurse by day and budding nail art/nail lover and in no way a professional either! I’m looking to start my RU-vid challenge as well so this was great to see . . . Tip . . . I use some cuticle oil or olive oil it helps lift them off easier! I file the free edges as well to break the seal and begin to lift a bit, then apply the oil to help! AND it wont eat away at the layer underneath!
this was super helpful ty. i had a break and the nails repair kit is basically dip powder lol. i was so worried that i would not be able to do peely base and then my nail art like usual but looks like i can yay. thanks for the video ☺
Thank you Carole for this clear explanation! I have been soaking with acetone every 2- 3 weeks since I started back in Aug 2019 and now my skin get little blisters, red and super itchy on all my fingers. I'm done with acetone! I got Maniboss peel base and I cant wait to try it.
Oh man!! That’s how the skin irritation started with me as well. I’m glad you’re getting ahead of it now. Also, CeraVe moisturizing cream is a great skin cream for when your skin is experiencing irritation.
I know this is an older video. I just tried Revel’s peel base. I put one coat directly on my bare nail. The nails popped off perfectly when I was ready. Whole. I also think the base made my natural nail “better” somehow. They feel stronger than when I applied it.
Thank you!!! This was LIFE CHANGING. As I practice my nails, I have been redoing them a lot and it’s been terrible to have peel base on my natural nails or soak off!! I still had some difficulties peeling off the color, but I’m hoping that adding a more generous layer will help
Love this! I actually just started peel base earlier this week. Glad you showed how to remove because I was wondering how I was going to get them off. 💕
I’ve used this method and two nails popped off but it didn’t work for the rest I eventually had to use acetone lol it was a fail for me 🤷🏽♀️ but it’s still a good idea, it may not work for everyone.
Carole Annette yes the two nails popped off easily, I didn’t even know when one of them came off lol The others were so hard to get off, I used oil to try and loosen it, I pushed back the cuticles , I used my efile on the cuticles, but nothing worked so I had to use my acetone at tht point. I believe the peel off base coat probably was absorbed by the clear powder 🤷🏽♀️ so thts probably why, cuz I have no other reason. I’m experimenting with using it in other ways so I hope it works
Tu for explaining in concise easy fashion. So appreciated! I need the recap bc when it comes down to doing it, I feel nervous like I'm forgetting something. Time stamp helps too. Good video. Good info sK
So I want the removal process to be easy BUT I want to enjoy the dip polish and want it to stay on for a couple weeks. Will the peel make it come off in a short time?
The question above applies to both just placing peel base on nail then the dip process or placing clear dip layers then peel base then dip layers again. Thanks
Everyone seems to have different experiences with peel base. Unfortunately, you’ll have to experiment with it to see how long it lasts on you, without lifting. I wish I had a better answer for you 🥺
Well, I shared yesterday that I did my left hand with peel base and had trouble getting the dip to stick. Found out that the lighthouse cove was giving others problems too. With your recent june sub mani with sparkle & co, did you notice with that dip? It's so beautiful. On another note, with peel base subject, I must have done ok. So far one popped off so I applied again. Will see how it goes. Haha! I only did peel base on left because I got interrupted in my nail process to care for my 97 year old Mom... and I can't believe after returning to work on my nails I forgot to apply the peel base. Lol! So frustrating because I really filed the 1st 2 base dip coats really good. Now I'll have to remove dip in a week down to base and try redoing just that hand.
Im still on learning process about dip powders , what if i like my dip to last longer can i just put a little bit amount of peel base on my nails can i put it not in all over my nails thankyou if ever u have suggestion plss tell me thankyou ❤❤
Hi! Thank you so much for this video, I really appreciate how clear and concise it is. I've tried peel base once before and they didn't come off at all (think I just didn't use enough), found your video searching for "peel base over clear dip powder". Couple of clarifying questions if you don't mind. Do you let the first coat of peel base dry completely before the second? How long do you let each dry? Also, is there a reason you choose not to use top coat over your clear dip before adding the peel base? That was something I was told to do to help them pop off easier - trying to decide whether to still do that this time, but considering I had no luck with them popping off, figured maybe you purposely don't do this step for some reason. Thank you so much!
Yes - I let every coat of peel base completely dry. As for the top coat, I eventually (after making this video) started using a top coat over the clear dip powder, because it’s easier to remove the dip over the peel base.
@@CaroleAnnette Thanks so much! I'll use the top coat again then. I guess I must've just not used enough of the peel base. I kept hearing stories of them popping off in a day and like my manis to last a bit, so I went super light handed on it. Gonna give it another try again today, here's hoping! 🤞
Thanks so much for making great videos, would you please make a video on how can you apply thin coats of step 1? I am having hard time with applying thin layers. Thanks in advance!
Helpful video! After applying the peel base, then dipping again, how many layers of dip should you do..2? 3?...and can I file and buff to the max the second time, or will that disturb the peel base underneath? TIA!!
So I tried this - I did one layer on my natural nail- I tried to not get too close to the wall or nail bed.. They popped off in less than 2 days. Should I try just a line of it down the middle?
Eliza Tino I put one coat. Away from cuticle and sides of nails..lasted 6 days. It also depends on what your doing with your hands. Have in hot water alot...eats away at peel base
This was a game changer for me so ty! I have a question, it may sound stupid but when ur nail finally pops off,( mine just did), do u need to put more peel off on?
Do you shape with a medium grit file after you apply your color? I did 2 dips of clear, activated and buffed and filed. Then went in with 3 dips of color and after activating I went in and started shaping and the color started lifting. Just curious if you have had any issues with that.
Hi Carole! Thanks so much for all of your very helpful videos! I have two questions. 1. Do you activate after you you do your two dips of Scarlett and before the peel base? 2. If I were going to split my mani in two days, would it be best to prep, do the 2 Scarlett dips and then activate and stop there? Then the next day I could finish with dip color and top coat? Thanks so much!
Hi!! 1. Yes, activate, file and buff before your peel base. You want it to be smooth before applying peel base. 2. If you’re waiting, do all of step 1 and don’t apply peel base. It’ll be fine if activator is applied.
what happens if you do not put clear dip powder first and only use peel off right on your dehydrated nail (and maybe just peel off in the middle of the nail)?
Do you have a video on "greenies"? I've been learning about nail fungus and today when I took my dip off, I saw this teeeeeennnnyyyy tiny spot and about had heart failure, lol. Idk if it's fungus or I'm being a hypochondriac but I want to make sure I prevent that
I don’t! But that’s a bacteria that grows on the nail due to moisture! It loved to grow in that type of environment. This article will help! purenails.co/blogs/news/what-does-it-mean-if-your-client-has-greenies
Hi, I'm trying peel base. I have two coats on. They dried. I added base coat, dipped, waited a short time but when I used brush between dips all the dip powder brushed off. I waited longer next time and it worked...I think.
I get my orange buffing blocks from Amazon: amzn.to/2WmRi1H The Triple Vitamin liquids, I get them from their website. triplevitamin.com/triple-vitamin-pro-application-products/
I just started doing my own dip powder nails. I'm a girl who likes to change her mani like twice a week. So I tried UNT peel base. I did one thin coat of peel base on my natural nails. They were all popped off by the next day. It was like I had on Press on nails lol. Do you have any suggestions?
Hi, thanks for your video and taking the time to explain. Would you make a video on dipping using the ph? What is the brand of the pH that you are using? Thanks again
Hi Carol, Today I remove my dip with the peel base underneath on the one hand. All but 1 finger came off OK. I had to pretty much sand the whole thing off. This is the same finger that popped off the day after that I dipped with the peel base. When I reapplied the dip on that finger I just added another coat of base plus dip powder. Could that be why it was stuck to my finger like cement? Should I have reapplied peel base and then dipped? And now that I have my nails free of dip, it looks like in the video I should just buff to take off the lifting areas of the the prior clear/color that I put down and apply the base again right over it. Then I apply peel base again and redip. I was thinking with the peel base if we didn't have to tidy up after lifting the dip from the nail, and there was minimal growth that I could go right over the peel base again with next dip? Maybe not because the surface has to be smooth before peel base applied. So through the reapplication process, after we smooth lifted areas, when we dip we are going over ther prior peel base, right? Maybe I'm thinking about this too much. Lol
If I want a fresh new coat of clear dip; I will soak it off and put on new dip. But usually when doing this process, I will do fills for 3-4 weeks and soak 1x a month, just the clear. So it brings my exposure to acetone way way down.
There's a few things that could result in needing to remove it fully. A lot of lifting, cracking and other damage. There's a few other things too. Though mostly you can just fill it in.
Hi there! I did my nails. I did natural dip across tip connection, then another 3/4 dip again natural, then a full dip of light pink. Seal, buff, seal. Then, I thought wait, I have to finish with top coat..... Then I'm stuck with this manicure. So, I dipped my pinky and thumb in a sparkle. I thought it was thick enough to take buffing without a clear coat. It wasn't. Now that the top coat is on, can I fix dip anymore? I would have to sand it down to the pink to do that right? Then dip, seal, etc. Does this sound right? I did ok. Next time will be better. I like the feeling better with tips than without. I think somehow it's not so tight on my mail this time.
@@CaroleAnnette last night I tried to dip after i applied the seal coat. It didn't stick. So really once I do that the dip is sealed and also needs to be sanded down before anymore can be applied (even before top coat). Duh Sandy. Seal coat really means sealed.
I think they’re annoying to remove, and they remind me of colorstreet nail strips, where you have to stick the strip to your nail, smooth it out and file off excess.
It can be used on the natural nail. Many do use it that way, but I don’t because it rips up my natural nail when I tried to remove it. This way, when I remove the dip that’s over top of the peel base to change my color, I have a strong clear base underneath.
Hi, when you said you ruined your nails, what happened? For some reason mine got super brittle. It may be because when removing I didn't get down to the last glue coat. They felt different after I removed the dip and all my growth broke off over 3 days.. Last night I tried to remove it. I think there was a layer I didn't see still on...but glue I think. It's hard to tell. I used Kiara sky natural as my first dip. Anyway, I think my nails are ruined too. Did you redip with the two layers to protect them for a while before doing this process...or go without dipping?
Hey. It ruined it on my natural nail because I was using a different brand that didn’t work for me. The other brand really stuck to my nails so when I tried to remove it, it was difficult to pop off, but when it did, it would rip my natural nail/extensions. Because of that experience, I’m trying it this way. I didn’t take a break from dipping. Instead I did it this way.
Oh and have you ever tried using the peel as a true base coat? Are you using tips here? Have you ever tried a nail strengthener before the dip and or peel layer?
Yes, I have tried as a base coat on my natural nail. I haven’t tried it with UNT yet because I’m scarred from my experience with this other brand 🤣😭 and I have never tried to use a nail strengthener
@@CaroleAnnette wow. Your prepped nail looks so smooth. I'm thinking I might apply tips and a few coats of clear dip and try to see if my nails on the bed will grow out healthier before I add the peel and more dip. I'm a but scared too.
I wouldn’t do 2 layers then, just 1. When I use it like this, it’s not easy to take off - so it doesn’t pop off without force. But I change mine about every 7 days.
I am asleep don’t think you should put on the peel off base coat on first and then do that because that looks like you’re hurting and you’re damaging her nails pretty much !
Experiment with how much you apply. - 1 coat versus 2 coats. - Thinner coats versus thicker. - not touching the edge of the nail or doing just a strip of peel base down the middle.
Carole Annette please do I would love that!!! I have bald spots on my nails from buffing with the sanding band but and I’m like what drill bit would be better for this process?!? I’m so sad 😭
