Thanks for watching 💛💙 💿 Check out this sample pack if you like the sound of the Perfourmer but don't have one: bit.ly/3MOICgW If you feel like getting the Perfourmer, be warmly invited to use one of my affiliate links- this way I'll get a little kickback at no additional cost for you. A great and simple way to support this channel. Perfect Circuit: bit.ly/3uAwllW Thomann: thmn.to/thocf/67r7m1mekm If you have any questions, don't hesitate to drop them in the comments! Otherwise be invited to watch some more "real" performances that I made with the Perfourmer: ru-vid.com/group/PLwXZLCn5WRVM857SSBo-wuzoyAoVVmCGl

Great video, very generous of you :) I just ordered the perfourmer, i was thinking of a setup, to do somewhat what you do, on Logic, before seeing your video. I'm comforted on my choice. Thank you again Jannis

This was a really helpful video. Thank you. I moved away from analog years ago, back in the early 00s... loved how you could store sounds with digital equipment and return in the morning and they were still there. I'd seem to have forgotten the basics of tuning with analog! I found from experience although the dials and one's ears are telling you everything is correct, the tuner in Ableton is a massive help and shows you can be in a semitone rather than a tone for example. A great point you made in this video is to keep it simple and set up before you dash off into more complex sounds and rhythms, i.e. have a tune-up!! ;-)

Hey Scott, thanks so much for the nice comment 😊 I'm really glad to hear that it inspired you to give your old analog buddies a chance again! I must say that I also mostly use digital stuff, but the Perfourmer is really unique and I'm so glad I got one. I like the idea of using a digital setup while having this one "special" analog instrument that has this little extra flavor and quality. All the best for your next session 🤗

@@JannisLeWolff No problem, enjoy your videos mate. I have a whole range of kit, in particular, I got on really well with the Elektron's, plus the Nord Lead, but loving the Moog kit atm... especially the Subharmonicon which is truly weird! I think from a workflow perspective I try and sketch a basic idea, then I migrate to the synth and machines to assign the sound design to the basic idea, then I flesh it out to eventually dive back into the DAW and mess/glitch up the production with plugins. I recently re-discovered izotope BT Stutter Editor which is super crazy!! ;-)

great video really opened my eyes. I feel a need to separate the performer off from the rest of my instruments

Thanks, really glad it could help! I think it’s some instrument that can really work well just by itself. But what do you usually combine it with?

Nice workflow tutorial. Thank you very much for the insight. Does your Perfourmer has the CV/Gate option? Would you recommend the normal Perfourmer or the cv/gate? I am torn between those two since I could buy a normal one right now or I have two wait for months until the cv/gate ones will be back in stock. Thanks and greetings from Germany.
@JannisLeWolff
@JannisLeWolff 2 года назад
Thanks for the nice comment 🙏 I have the version without CV/Gate, because I don’t have other modular gear I could hook it up with. I think if you don’t have modular gear yet you’ll be perfectly fine without the option and can save those bucks, since there is so much to explore already. Grüße zurück 👋

@@JannisLeWolff thank you. I do have modular gear but still unsure if I indeed will use it for the P4. Problem is that the machine is out of stock since ages. But I think I should wait for the CV/Gate version. Could be lots of fun to combine modular with the P4.
@JannisLeWolff
@JannisLeWolff 2 года назад
Probably! I think no matter what you choose, it will be a good decision!

@@JannisLeWolff had to come back here 3 months later: I got my Perfourmer yesterday. Such a great machine! Got the CV/Gate option since it was the only one that was in stock at Musicstore (for a couple of minutes :-) ). Just 100 bucks more which is not that much considering the price at all. Combined it with my Akai Force and got lost in 1 bar sequences for hours...

@@marcuslutz Excellent, so glad to hear that! And yeah, for 100 it's a great deal, I think the difference was bigger some time ago. Anyways, wishing you all possible fun with it!! 🙂

I don’t get how you separate the notes to the oscillators?
@JannisLeWolff
@JannisLeWolff Год назад
What exactly do you mean? You can assign individual midi notes to the individual oscillators, but also use a play mode where it uses the 4 oscillators like a polysynth. Added to that it has playing modes where oscillators on the same midi channel get triggered right after each other, creating those interesting arpeggios. Was it helping?

And you have an unlimited number of presets ! Just use your phone camera !
@JannisLeWolff
@JannisLeWolff 2 года назад
Haha, true. Although I don’t like to think in presets while using it. If I start a new session I also create sounds from scratch.
@bepitan
@bepitan Год назад
don't you use the perfourma onboard tone to tune up?
@JannisLeWolff
@JannisLeWolff Год назад
I usually use the Ableton tuner, but of course it would work as well with the internal one. Totally up to the user!
