Hey man, you talk a lot about consistent mindsets, and it's indeed great to have! Have you tried therapy? You sound american to me, and I know health is very expensive in the US, but therapy is the single greatest thing I ever decided to do for myself, it improved every aspect of my life. As a bonus, now I can play ranked and not freak out about every single match, and not rage after every mistake... Have a beautiful day!

If theres a character people struggle against, they should play as those characters in casuals to see how other people deal with it. I will never lose to a Honda because he was my first character, so now when I see a buttslam, my eyes light up because im antiairing it and then getting a full juggle combo into super everytime. Full screen headbutt, love it. Jump backwards and hit him with jumping mk while he recovers. See how fast those Hondas leave after 1 match when you know how to beat it.

For content just pick a set or two and analyze it. Or so a live play of a set or two. It's okay to clip in between too if there's too much air time. Then add some reflective commentary before/during or after during any dead times. Just a tip!

Hey man good video! I have a question for ya, I really enjoy playing DJ, but it feels like I have to work so much harder than when I play Ken. I am plat 3 with DJ and plat 4/5 with Ken. Should I just forgo DJ even though I really like the character? I do enjoy playing Ken, but DJ just has the swag factor that Ken doesn't.

in the long run you'll find DJ will become easier if you choose to put more time into him, and if he keeps you playing the game you should stick with him. Some characters kits are just inherently harder to use than others and will take more time to flesh out but if you stick with them you'll find results.

I got ken plat 2 and although ive played deejay way more i got placed gold5, nearly at plat 2 with him now but yeah he takes more skill and effort imo, i was tempted to main ken because i do like him but deejay is just cool af, it comes down to why you play sf6, if it’s for fun then deejay, if its to have an easier time of ranking up then ken but imo unless youre a pro or trying to be then wtf is the point of just playing to win and rank up. Once i get deejay to diamond I’ll probably practice other characters

Deejay meaties are going to be risky on oki. This is my biggest problem since I love to oki with forward m.kick. Probably the best advice I can give you is to get used jab for wake up DI. He balances out few non cancellable moves with really good neutral buttons. Mkick can combo into l.kick or down m.punch and is also a good poke button. H.kick is amazing for punish counters. Other than that, mind games my friend!

As a Cammy main that enjoys neutral / footsies i definitely resonate with what you said about it being difficult but extremely rewarding. I looooooove it when I play against a Rashid and I start to see the number of jumps go down… it tells me that I’m doing something right. I’m still not a master footsies guy, as a matter of fact my Cammy is stuck in 5 star gold for now, I lose a lot… but i know at some point the wins will get higher than the losses.

This video is so inspiring. I am not even close to you level but i am still currently on the same things and your video helped to confirm that i'm on the right path. I hit Silver with Ken about a week ago and realized that i have to polish my execution. So while i am doing that i picke up Juri and am currently not learning any combos on purpose because i want to work on neutral, effective movement and using buttons effectively. I am stuck at Bronze 1 playing this way with Juri, but i am having a lot of fun and improve my neutral day by day.

@@datboidrew Juri and Ken both Silver 4 now. My current plan is too improve my Ken game and shoot for gold while picking up Dee Jay on the side. I want to shoot with only one character for now, because they both will require some work and my Juri just isn't there yet.

My biggest problem is defense I struggle knowing when and how to press buttons when someone is spamming jab strings on me. Hard stuck at plat 1 cause of it

@@AndyLO2Nah I didn't either. I def fought a Guile using it though, I had to go all in on Overhead/Low mix and eventually just bullied him into burnout and stunned him. Luckily Marisa makes stun combos death combos.

heh, the way I play my Honda is not just slam/headbutt. but sometimes I HAVE to do it, 'cause many people in Gold seem to like a "walk back" playstyle. Juri, Jamie, Manon, even some Kimberly players - doesn't matter. they go back. pisses me off:D The most difficult thing for me has been utilizing DI. When I started Ranked, I saw people use it as a crutch all the time and I can't get it through my head that it's a legitimate, core mechanic that I should use not just when I'm reacting to my opponent's DI. And yeah, I too sometimes forget that there's a person on the other side. I see a Jamie, or Ken (SO MANY KENS I HATE KEN NOW), or Manon, and they aggravate me. yes, it's ironic since I play a bully character, I know:D

I wish I could say the same thing but I've been at a plateau for a while, seeing how I have a habit of getting counterhit, autopiloting bad offense, teching throws and DI impacts too late and getting beat by people who I can and should be able to beat, but happy for you Andy.
